Re: Interlace (an industry first) - Launching at 8:30pm EST
For the first time ever…
Do a true side by side comparison with the exact same deck… from 2 different printing companies.
Fans, dribbles, springs, sleights, handling… which one will you like best?

Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
I had edited it.. but I guess I didn't his save
I changed it to...
""In order to be able to tell the decks apart once they're out of the box, I've mirrored the back designs should a friend unwittingly mix one or many cards up, as seen below.""

You pretty much got it right. Well, Legends uses the manufacturer, so I think it counts. Lolchach wrote:I'm thinking two publishers, one bicycle branded and another EPCC released deck.

The artwork is beautiful and overall I think it's a pretty solid deck. But there's nothing about it that really stands out to me. The price is right though!

It's having two different companies print the same deck.

Maybe if I write slowly it will jump out at you monkey. First time the same deck will be produced simultaneously by 2 different major card manufacturer. just teasing you monkey about typing slowly I typed ultra fast

The decks inside are technically not the same though?snsdmonkey wrote:Quote this, where's the industry first...I'm not quite sure it's jumping out at me right now...vasta41 wrote:The artwork is beautiful and overall I think it's a pretty solid deck. Would that mean that recolours of the same deck printed by different companies would also be in the mix as an 'industry first'?
Not being difficult, but just want to ask the questions that are on my mind!

Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
I'm not saying being able to pull off printing 1 deck by 2 companies simultaneously isn't awesome. Hell- it's ground breaking! All I'm saying is just because this is happening doesn't make the deck(s) any more visually appealing to me. I judge most decks I buy on whether or not they'll stand out in my collection. And while this deck has an intangible lure about it by being printed by two separate companies, it just doesn't visually knock my socks off. Like I said before- the artwork is masterfully done! Just not my cup of tea.

Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
Im in the same boat. It just doesn't jump out at me and say, I've gotta have it. Then being printed by 2 different printers, while new and different, just isnt exciting to me. I'll keep an eye on it though.

Of course! Will you be offering tiers for only one red and one black once black is unlocked?

Absolutely. One red and one black is on its way... I realize I missed a few when putting the images out there. Check the Rewards section in a few minutes.

Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
But what is the point of having both printers print the same deck ?? It's a terrible move imo, it makes your goal prohibitively high at almost 30k for two decks that are hardly distinguishable with practically the same art.
Sure it's never been done before, but it's because it makes it that much harder for your deck to get funded not because it's amazing groundbreaking stuff that no one else has thought of.

Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
If this deck was only being produced in one color by one printer, would I be excited to be getting it? No. The artwork just isn't to my liking. I know my tastes don't match other collectors' tastes. The fact that there will be two colors and two printers doesn't impact my decision about these - they just aren't something I care to have. I find the dual production angle to be irrelevant.

I mourn for the black deck. I don't get why black.
And is this really going to be how the spade cards will look?
I think it's kind of dull compared to the bright back. A hint of colour would be nice.

I doubt legends would have a problem but I would figure uspcc would have a big problem with the same deck being done by another printer.

You know I was going to put Legends down too, but thought the parent company was EPCC and went with that instead. In the words of Maxwell Smart, "Missed it by that much."Sher wrote:You pretty much got it right. Well, Legends uses the manufacturer, so I think it counts. Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
I realize not everyone will like the design. not that big of a deal. i think enough will like it. But the dual manufacturers is about understanding all the options in a very uneven playing field. there is nothing like this for designers and enthusiasts alike to truly gain perspective on the different qualities of these manufacturers. I I figure i had better understand both. Not to mention the design does not detract from just this type of experiment. Thanks for all your kind feedback though.

Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
USPCC will do anything for money. I was telling Mike the other week I was thinking about doing somethig similar with the Unrest Series. I was thinking of doing one version at EPCC and the other one at USPCC. I wasn't going to do the same deck tough... I was thinking of two different decks with different courts, backs, etc. I figured if I was going to pay for two print runs I should get two decks.Cbkimble wrote:I doubt legends would have a problem but I would figure uspcc would have a big problem with the same deck being done by another printer.
But anyway, I think it's a cool concept and a nice looking deck. Good luck!

Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
I think Steve Minty may have inadvertently taken the industry first by deciding to possibly do his recolours of his deck by EPCC. The fact that someone was able to take the title of 'industry first' through pure accident really undermines the selling point of this deck and the hype around it 'pre-launch'. I think you would've done better without it.

I agree with you both. Lot of hype for a nice deck, but far from extraordinary. Maybe next time they ought to just throw it out there and cut the expectation raising bullshit.

Don't get me wrong, I like the design of the deck. I even pledged. I'm just hoping for some reconsideration.
As for the "industry first", I think it should go to Bicycle Legacy. Their Legacy Black was to be printed with MPC.

Didn't uspcc force you to choose your courts or their bicycle logo?rjtomlinson1977 wrote:USPCC will do anything for money. They still took my money. They're over protective of the Bicycle brand. It's okay for blood soaked zombies to be blessed with the Bicycle logo but not real history.Cbkimble wrote:Didn't uspcc force you to choose your courts or their bicycle logo?rjtomlinson1977 wrote:USPCC will do anything for money. Re: Bicycle / Legends - Interlace (an industry first) - LIVE
Actually,
I would imagine that the NOCs would be the industry first to have the same Decks printed by USPCC and the EPCC / LPCC Printer.
I think the Interlace Decks are cool, and I wish Christian good luck!
Thanks, Randy
