EDIT: I misread shermjack's post, and hence answered a question that didn't exist (except in my head). Embarrassingly gory details preserved for eternity in ecNate's response below. Apologies to all - not least shermjack.

In any case, hopefully these will be reasonably priced by T11. Probably a good chance to buy a Contraband deck for any who skipped all the earlier hype.

;)

The answer you are looking for is that it should be available on http://www.theory11.com/, at least I would say 99.5% chance it will be there. As far as I know they haven't done anything outside of their own site and no mention of it being anyplace else.

Not excited until actual deck comes out. I hope it is a dark blue or black with red outline. That all black design wasn't cuttin' it.

Available now at https://store.theory11.com/products/mai ... ying-cards

$125 for a brick that includes a snazzy box, not too bad considering 100% of proceeds will go to charity.

100% OF MAILCHIMP'S PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE FUGEES ACADEMY
Only MailChimp's share is going to charity. T11 gets to keep theirs.

Damn wish I came here first. Really wanted a brick box but couldn't justify buying 12 reds and a handful of black ones.

Actually, they are not the same, unless their pix are wrong. The thing is, until I have one, I can't be certain that you can tell without opening them. I do know for certain that there is a difference in the cards themselves.

Well, I want to see it first. If you look at the original pictures and the ones on Theory11 - you should notice what I am seeing. I think the paper used for the tuck is different as well, mine have no blue tint at all, they are definitely black black. It was pointed out that the overly blue look on their pix is lighting, and it could be, but they are described as red on (deep dark?) blue elsewhere. The decks I got from MailChimp HQ are not, they are red foil on a deep black.

There's one thing clearly distinctly different about the cards themselves, as well. I hope that you can tell them apart without opening them, that would be a bummer!

I see. So do you think the ones you got a hold of were some sort of prototype? Or do you think these were made in a completely separate batch? Or something else? Lol I would hope for the sake of collectability (I think I made that word up?) that there's a visible difference between the two versions.

Let me know what you find. Either way, I'm glad I didn't pay than I should have. :D

If these are still available next month, I'll buy a brick. If they're available the next next month, I'll but the other brick. Highly unlikely though.

It's great for Mike that he got $300 from the bid but if I was the buyer, I'll be kicking myself. Seems like decks made from theory11 start out as rare but a lil' later (a year later), they'll be easily available.

Oh, I agree. That's why - until I get my hands on them, I won't postulate as to what is different. It's obvious to me that they are different.

I've stared at the two pictures for a while and the only difference that I can see is that the card faces in the OP are colored ever so slightly with an ecru/egg shell color and T11's look pure white (with no background color). If that's not the difference than I'm a horrible detective and we need sprouts on this case ASAP!

Either way I would find it hard to believe that anyone would pay $300 or anything close to that now for that deck. It's almost like you had the inside scoop or something and therefore decided to cash in.
