I like consistency, so I would prefer the flipped queen. Unless you do half of the courts with the pip on the opposite side than the other half (or all the queens or something like that), that might work. But if it's just that queen, definitely flip.

Yes the historic cards had no pattern to them but I'm slightly leaning toward flipping. Tho she doesn't look right flipped. Ok thanks guys, will keep plugging

Trickz - Flip or no Flip, I know what your doing by trying to stay with the Rouen theme. It was before things were standardized. I would stay but it's up to you. MagicFingerZ might buy a deck cos it pisses him off so much. As long you have the "squeezers" it doesn't matter in any game. In texas hold'em you first use the squeezers in your hole cards then you use the board and if the board is unique ppl might pick up on that.
3D Renders

Hi guys,
Just a quick update post. Have worked up decent 3D renders of the case so I can visualise the embossing. The face cards are coming along well, hope to post a few updates on those soon. Have also been chatting with USPCC, awesome helpful people, really impressed. There are some beautiful decks coming out lately, inspiring stuff.

Thanks V. Working to a time frame for artwork, fundraising and production, I'm tentatively aiming for a release date around November. This may shift, I want the best possible result and everything well planned out. But I can give you more solid time frames once the art is complete

Good to hear, Rick! Keep us posted when you can, people here aren't the most patient crowd when it comes to such an awesome deck as this

Hey all, here's a quick promo trailer for the deck. You can get a better feel for the art, and toward the end the style I'm refining for the face cards. Hope you like it, have a great weekend

Love what I see, especially the Queen of Clubs (so much attitude on her face).

These are beautiful. Hoping for more personalization on the pips, but I'll be pledging as soon as they are available!

Thanks guys. I have to say the forum has been awesome in the feedback and I do take it on. More personalisation, ok thanks Dragon. I am working on 'ornate' versions for the Aces but maybe I can work them a little more. And thanks SQ, I initially started out with more static facial detail but the feedback pushed me more this way. That Queen has really focused things for me as far as the design goes.

Have to say I'm jonesin' badly for these cards, very excited for them. I agree with sqmiller, the face of the queen is spot on, beauty with a hint of attitude, regal, just as a Queen should be. Really looking forward to when these come out.
Not sure if it was stated earlier in the thread, but the video states they're a limited edition, do you know how "limited" these cards will be? Are you sticking to the minimum run of 2500 or going higher?

Woah! Definitely count me in for AT LEAST a pair of these when you launch the campaign! I absolutely love vintage decks and this one looks fantastic!

Thanks guys, really appreciate the support. Working hard to get the deck ready for release. I'll let the campaign dictate the numbers, but I am working on a higher run than the minimum. I'm lightly considering future editions, but my focus is this deck right now, which will feature a special First Edition label and unique detail in the artwork.

Rick sent out an email just a while ago: "Another quick update on the Origins. I've been working hard as always and I'm now on the final stretch to seeing the deck realised. A Kickstarter campaign is looming with a few nice little extras! I'll let you know as soon as I have dates."

cosmicsecret - I agree. Flip or no flip with the suit he is doing something special...

Firthetic, thank you for the post
Yes I've been keeping my head down while I finalise the Origins artwork. I've been working on and researching this deck for just under a year. It's been a major project but hugely rewarding and I'm finally heading toward a campaign. With help from card historians I've sourced historic art through various sources including the British Museum, the Fitzwilliam and the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and that hasn't been without some cost
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
But in two or so weeks I hope to head to Kickstarter. Sprouts you'll be happy to know I haven't flipped the art, but I have kept the pips in standard position. Compromise.
I just want to thank the members of the forum again, your input has been truly appreciated. It's great to share ideas with you all

Lovely! The tuck is very reminiscent of the Monarchs (this is a positive thing from my perspective) but possibly even sexier!. The customization on the courts is wonderful. I too have been waiting for these for quite some time. Keep at it Rick. Can't wait to dive in on the KS.

I'm on board too. I think you have a winning combination. You came to the forums with an idea; Listened to the suggestions and have great deck lined up. Do you have any more cards to share and perhaps a Kickstarter preview? It's always good to have many eyes look for errors before your Kickstarter launch and like MagikFingerz says, "Not to mention that we would know exactly where to click when we go to pledge"

Thank you very much guys, truly. Your feedback has been huge in seeing this deck created, there are a lot of decks flying around at the moment, great and not so great. It's been a long road but not far off now.
Yes, I'll consider a special KS preview for the forum. And if there is anything special you'd like to see I'm happy to listen. I am 50/50 on a label, I'm not sure it adds to the art. Be interested to hear what you think of that.

As several have stated on other threads it gets frustrating when a deck gets watered down with a lot of versions, but a black or white LE would be a nice addition and although I'm not a big coin freak, have purchased some as add-ons, your sunburst design on the tuck would be a natural.
