I ended up getting another brick of Black JAQKs when I noticed that the system was working, paid $66 for it, what it should have been with 15% on top of 15% discounts.

Checked my confirm email from this morning a bit ago (been a busy day, what can I say) and turns out my order was muffed up as well with no discounts being applied for the 6 card purchase. Lyle from Theory 11 posted on the um, other, card forum for people to write an email in to support at theory11 dot com and they'll check into it. Says a few of their contractors dropped the ball and things didn't roll out as smoothly as they had hoped.

They only thing they can do is cancel your order and have you reorder.

I was able to get somebody to do it for me last night.

It depends on who you get in their customer service department, really. I got a nice young lady that just put through a $10.51 credit / rebate for my missing quantity discount. It was half-way fixed: if you did a 'brick' quantity of 12, if would show the 15% discount computed on that screen, but as soon as you clicked the button to add it to your cart, if you looked up top the price was 12 x $6.96 again - with no 15% discount - I'm thinking until around 6PM last night. Later around 8, I tried it because I saw here that it "was working", and it did what it was supposed to do, so I ended up getting another brick or Black JAQKs as I had intended for around $62 plus shipping instead of the $72 or so it computed earlier in the day (obviously $10.51 difference - I checked the math, and the $12 I thought was before the first 15%).

Unprofessional? I suppose - something you can fix easily, yes - it was. Did they? Some people got it right (like mine), others had to cancel and re-order, which seems counter-intuitive for them to suggest, but I suppose that some of the "Customer service" agents were just trying to get people off the phone, or you were handling it via email. I had to go find an earlier order that had a non-tollfree phone number, but I do know that they weren't even bothering to answer the main phone number some time abounr mid-afternoon. When I called at the first time I went into a queue, only to get the "Please leave a message and we'll get back to you" after about 5 minutes. At least they didn't leave you hanging for 15-20 minutes or more. Could be worse. I sent a note through the automated system and they just cancelled my first order, and even when I called requesting the rebate of 15% because the cart wasn't computing things correctly - it was posted to my card within an hour. The 3rd time worked just fine, that one was around 8 or 8PM last night.

Odd that it 'broke' on Black Friday, I've used it before and I thought it would computer the 15% (brick-level) discount even if you split it between different decks. I could easily be wrong about that, though. YMWV!

Mine was through email.

I am very curious how limited this release is still though.

I don't think 15% for a brick works with different decks.

Jeez, I hope not.....

I can still add 10000 decks into my cart so i think this "Limited" run is a few more than the regular limited runs.

Got a couple of these beauties the other day and I have a question or two.

How limited is this edition, if it's limited at all?

It's a really nice set but I was disappointed that all of the court cards had the same design. The Kings look all the same, the queens look all the same and the jacks look all the same.

Another thing... The seal sticker says that this is Series No.3, yet the ace of spades says it's Series No.1.

What gives?

Don't think we know for sure Norbie. Took three days to sell out so I'd guess 2,500, let's hope not 5,000. (to put that in perspective the Black Legends went up at the same time with a limited run of 1,000 and it sold out in a matter of hours) That's not very limited but they are sweet and all the JAQKs are classy!

If i were to take a guess, it would be 10k, i remember reading it somewhere as well. Definitely not 2,500 though.

As for the courts and ace, they just followed the old blue and red JAQKs, those showed series 001 as well, i just checked.

I think its strange that people crucify decks that have repeating courts - De'Vos Exquisite deck, for example. Yet not many seem to mind that the JAQK deck has repeating courts, and the JAQK series is highly regarded.

Lol at least they bothered with a colour change and slightly different embellishments. Some decks like the Tim Burton deck or D&D October (excepting the KoH) cant even claim that much...

I think its also because its one of the first decks with fully custom courts (for modern decks), not like the arcane series etc. The bar wasnt set nearly as high as it is now. Simple changes like eyepatches (bandit), recolours, etc used to make the cut, these decks are hardly big hits anymore.

When you say the bar is much higher now Volantangel you're not just whistling Dixie. Been thinking a lot about this lately, some of the decks I was swooning over two years ago look almost boring today. I do like the classy decks like JAQK and Monarch, these hold up well over time.

I just have the red deck out of the 3 because it looks the best to me.

I like the red best too, Bikefanatic, and for the sake of adding another color which I usually don't like, have always though this deck would lok great in gold.

Considering the originals (non-T11/USPCC) came with red and gold seals, I'm surprised gold ones didn't come before black.

I never really understood the appeal of "error" decks. I understand that they're usually significantly more rare than the original item, but what's the appeal? Is it just that exclusivity? It isn't what the artist intended! People pay more money for MtG cards that have been cut incorrectly, too. Weird.
