Actually, you probably could add another Carat Case 2 option with the corrected shipping. You probably can't delete it, but you could add a new option with the corrected shipping. You can then send an update to explain the issue. Those that want to pay lower shipping can move to the new add on option...if they want.

Something interesting I noticed. Some pictures showcase a silver gilding, while some showcase a blue gilding. There's also a gold gilding. Potential 3 gilding colors?

I hope there is a backerkit too. I only want to buy the uncut sheet of the one that my pet would be drawn into. I'm also curious if the uncut sheet will be with the white silhouettes or the completed version with the pets added.

New add on deck now available.


As the Cloud Brick is supposed to evolve to include all new decks now my calculations are going to be thrown into a tizzy…


So each brick is now 3 sets of 4 decks rather than 4 sets of 3 decks - and my two bricks will make 3 sets to fill the carat cases with 6 of the new deck on the side - so I’m removing one carat case and getting 3 instead of 4 - and calling it a day…

Math is hard…

Basically one of my sets just converted to six decks of the new deck, with no carat case needed for them

The brick price reduces all decks to 16 bucks each, the price of the lowest cost deck - so at least that math is easy..

Why couldn't it just be a gilded version of an existing deck? That would have made it so much easier to ignore!

I would have been happy with it not being in the bricks as I would have preferred a ratio of 1 of them for each set of 6, but it was foreseeable as the brick did say it would adjust with new deck releases - so I’ll just strap in and hope no more are added that send me back to math class…

Well since they state that decks will be equally spread in the bricks they can’t really add one more - and two more seems a bit extreme - so I am feeling pretty safe we have seen the last. Pretty safe…. Please let me be safe…

They just added a Cloud Brick tier - I did the math - called my accountant, hung up on him, and went for it. Now in for 4 carat cased sets with a set of three decks left over to open, (that includes 9 black decks on the side), and the rather pricey 1 of 1 pottery set which I managed to grab.

Pottery set: A one-of-a-kind volcanic stone sake cup made by the expert Japanese artisan Miwa-san, which comes in a special stamped wooden box with an affixed NAZO NAZO card design.
- One of the 12 unique prototype decks.

Keeping my credit card in a glass of water to prevent it’s combustion.


Update: Seems that keeping my credit card under water was not enough - not a problem - it has served its purpose…

Yes, he's already released a couple others so far.

He releases them a few minutes after each event - they appear on the normal kickstarter add ons when he does.

Those new puzzle boxes are very nice.

How can you tell how many puzzle boxes were remaining? I wasn't super fast (I never will be) to add one as I didn't even see the update until like 30 minutes after it was posted. I wondered if any would still be out there, and since they were still available went ahead and grabbed one. Yes, they are pricy but I enjoy these kinds of things if I am not having to jump into a shark frenzy. I am guessing the price held a few back as well as the limit of one per backer. Also, the box is quite a bit outside of the playing card specialization. A lot of playing card collectors are fine with avoiding these kinds of specialty items that are really not playing cards. My pocket book would have preferred that this option had been sold out by the time I saw it, but it wasn't.

I don’t see it when using the web, but using the iPad app (and I think all mobile apps) the amount remaining shows up in the add-ons.


I ended up getting one less brick of Almanac to allow for the puzzle box - my accountant threatened to have me committed unless I made some concession.

I see it now. On the app it looks like a tier option, which doesn't seem to be the case. The phone app for Kickstarter pledging is so weird, I try to avoid it if at all possible. At least for limited items, it may have some value.

I picked one up. I looked up similar boxes and I don't see any priced at this range, but I do understand there's a profit to be made, it's a low run, etc. I'll see it I end up holding on to it as now it's pushing into my Successor level pledging and I can't keep depleting my funds. I wonder if all 4 deck versions can fit into this box. That would make it more appealing.

I think it fits two decks.

Puzzle boxes like these can be had from lots of sources, these being handcrafted, custom for the project and including unique carved figure, card and coin by Maura Tsuyoshi will cost more - and like the rest of the project one imagines some is going to charity.

I have priced boxes like these in the past from a high end maker in Japan and found they were quite pricey on their own.

In the update the retail price is listed at $275 - which does sound reasonable from an artisan. Not sure if that includes the figures inside, but I imagine it does in this case.

Mass produced ones can be much cheaper of course.

A lot cheaper than my sake cup - and sake cups can be had plenty cheap elsewhere - it all depends on who makes them, what materials are used and how they are made (in this case carved from stone by a single craftsman).

I make things by hand from time to time, pouring myself into them, and can appreciate the difference in the objects, and the prices put on them.

T.T I really wish I can afford that Japanese puzzle box, but I am completely screwed right now - can't stretch it anymore
