Here’s an update. First up is I’m debating whether to do black and gold or gold only borders on the Dynastinae faces. Thoughts?

Plus the artwork on the courts and aces is pretty much set. See if you can find the beetles!

I'm an anti-fan of black cards, so white would be my vote. Loving the looks of these courts!

I agree with wingedpotato: the white looks better.

White for the Dynastinae. Increases longevity and is more playable that way. Plus I tend to like the contrast with white more. If you make a limited black tuck, might warrant a black card version specifically for that one.

I could see doing it as a stretch goal. Having to switch out the cmyk printing from the gold only to black and gold edition would incur a definite additional cost. But not a bad idea as a stretch.

Although the black deck wouldn't have longevity issues in this case because the gold foil goes to the edge and they are gilded---so no unsightly white edges or scuffs along the black edge!

I genuinely like both the black border and the white. However, while the gold index rank and pip work on the black background (for Spades and Clubs), red won't work as well, and I really, really, really can't stand when all the pips of all four suits are the same color. So, yeah, I guess I'll have to throw in for the white border, since that will support the red suits much better than the black border will.

I’m on the side of white. Something about the black border just looks a little off to me.

More renders. I’m leaning towards white myself. But the black as a stretch goal edition may be a thing.

Definitely siding with white after these additional renders. I also like the idea of gold foil borders, as they turned out fantastically on Black Requiem by Lorenzo.

Agree with you here. First thought came to my mind was that it looks slightly similar to Black Requiem.

I would go for the black one, at least to make it very exclusive… trust me, I prefer NOT to have too many editions… again

The black looks better. If it didn't have the gold around it then no.

I always wonder how you plan to top the previous project, and everytime you manage to do that. This is coming from the fact that you started with Lorenzo, followed up with Lotrek and then Kevin Cantrell. Simply amazing what you're doing with the TGW brand .

Thank you All. I am certainly trying to create a body of work to be extremely proud of and one that collectors will want to continue. I would like TGW decks to be as collectible as Lorenzo or Lotrek have made their offerings. Whilst also creating something that could grow.
