I had the same thought when I saw it for the first time. That tuck is indeed very slick, nice, classy. Reminds a bit of chocolate though and not of cigarettes.

They are supposed to have a cigar feel to them after all:
Inspired by vintage tobacco industry packaging, the No. 13 Table Players edition is the first deck in a six-deck series. The No. 13 deck features a classic look, with well thought out designs and colors. Each Table Players deck features the beautiful Kings Wild Standard Court Cards for easy table play.

No golden ticket in my deck. Sweet cards. Disappointing registration. I wish USPC would fix that. It's the main reason I prefer LPCC or Cartamundi over them.

Wow, that is pretty bad registration. I have not received mine yet. It seems like that would be something that can be fixed by USPCC and shows a lack of pride in workmanship. It shows they value bottom line over quality of product. You would think USPCC would want to correct it.

Would be awesome if regular and big customers like Jackson, Chris Ramsay, David Blaine and others would put the thumb screws on USPCC. As a designer/producer/publisher of a deck I would be offended if the printer ruins my deck like that.
But folks gonna buy anyway because "BeSt PR/n7er EvAA! - oVEr 13o YEars oF ExperTIsë!"

Man! That registration does suck. Feel free to email nick@kingswildproject.com and we can send you a replacement.

And to answer Harvonsgard's statement about clients of USPCC "putting the screws down" on them. In reality, even though I've printed over 100 decks with USPCC I'm still super small potatoes when it comes to their business. Even big accounts like Chris Ramsey and others are as well. They aren't gonna do anything about their process as it would be a multi-million dollar retooling for them. There registration is their weakest link for sure, this is a common fact.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunate to hear that. I could have figured that custom playing cards are a tiny chunck of their business. Sucks. You shouldn't have to replace their f**k ups.
If I may ask. Did you visit their plant? I can't imagine that their post-press process can't be fixed easier. I work in print finishing for books and calenders. Registration is no black magic f**kery... It all depends on the operator and the production speed.

This is interesting. I'd understand if you can't/won't, but can you share any more details on this? What specifically would be needed to fix/improve it? Seems odd that it would be THAT complicated/expensive, especially considering it doesn't look like smaller printers have the same problem (at least not as bad or as often).

You would think they'd want to avoid something like this staining their reputation. Then again, if they mainly care about their big casino contracts, they probably don't have any competitors in that arena anyway.

This + correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the registration problems in this intesitiy (tilted angles, variations in not only left and right but top and bottum as well) are fairly new - like in the recent 2 years or so. Maybe my perception is just skewed or I was lucky enough to get better USPC decks in the past.

Working there at USPCC ages ago, we had to make sure there wasn't any msitakes....

Once the cards are cut from the stripper machines, we had to fan through them to look for defects. They made need to adjust those machines which I figure shouldn't be hard or any other process to cut the cards individually. I guess out there in Hebron Kentucky, they didn't train employees well or just don't give a damn any more.

There seems to be a KWP parcel mailed to me despite I've already canceled my subscription last Dec (haven't received yet)... I'm not the type that likes concealing these freebies for myself when it's a sender's error, but this to me is an extension of the sloppy management, communications, and administrative work from KWP that I've been tackling for some time now, and exactly the reason why I canceled my short subscription after three months.

Update: I have received the parcel today found out that it was the long-awaited KS Invocations which I didn't realize that it would be fulfilled by the KWP team. My sincere apologies that I have been harsh on my criticism towards the management of the fulfillments. I have not edited any of the words I have used in this post to stay truthful to what I've said out of the frustrations I've had with the communications with KWP during my subscription, but I wish to use more constructive words had I known that the parcel was for the Kickstarter fulfillment. Sorry to those who have been affected by my comments especially Jackson and the team in the house who had dedicated much effort to enhancing the creation process.

I'll get the parcel in a few days, and if KWP should ask me to pay for the mistake they've made, I'll still do for every creation is worth its price. But I'm just gonna stress again:

KWP, get your orders, administrations, and customer services STRAIGHT, or both the brand and the customers are losing.

Nick alone is definitely NOT ENOUGH for the administrative work. Also, use the website for updates and anouncements instead of freaking Instagram stories that will exclude a whole lot of your subscribers, WORLDWIDE.

I also could have just kept my mouth shut and got my cards without paying for shipping but I wanted to try and do "the right thing." Plus, I don't want to be held responsible for paying shipping when I purposely signed up for delayed shipping so I only have to pay once.

First off, I'm sorry we sent you a deck(s) by mistake. You most assuradly won't have to pay for any items you didn't order. If you would like to send me an email, and please be sure to let me know the connection of your UC username and your email when you send it cuz from just your profile and username here on the UC, i don't know who you are. Because the subscirption playing card model is still very new to us and the industry, we are still working out the kinks with how to facilitate and manage it. Also, we transitioned over to a new back end system in Decebmer so that add a new list of issues we had to tackle, so I appreciate your patience for as long as you gave it to us.

As for news and updates only being on Instagram, this is an issue we listened to and implemented and launched our new blog / news protion of our website. You can find any updates we give at the bottom of our website.

Delayed shipping is something we are still trying to work out and make a system that works both for you guys and us on the back end/admin side.

We are doing our best to give the best costumer service we can, and if your are disatisfied I totally understand and encourage you to give us up.

^This is good enough for me, no need for further email replies since that's the answer I was looking for (FYI 'vasta41' is my name for everything). I hope you are able to work out the kinks but I am a happy customer thus far :ugdance:

Glad to hear that things are being upgraded... I'm grateful for your offer, Jackson, whatever the parcel is that's sent to me. I'll send you an email once I get the parcel and communicate with you about what went wrong with the order (I ordered nothing between Dec and Jan on my end). Thanks.

Jackson, I will say that I have been appreciating the updates you and your team have been making with the website. It used to be so difficult to find images or descriptions of decks you've produced, as it seems you only listed current stocked items. You've expanded the Playing Cards tab to include past projects for reference/archive. Not only does that help people like me who keep a spreadsheet of my decks along with their source, but it also shows anyone new to your company how much great work you have in your repertoire. Some stuff is still missing, but it's a vast improvement.
