Mostly gravity. Don't understimate the paper weight.
That said, just yesterday someone on reddit shared what can happen if you manage to tilt the pallet too much - what a nice ribbon spread that was 😂.
I was reminded of how I was trying to figure out a way to store my uncut collection of 30 or so sheets and I stacked them up on a table and...whoosh they fanned out all over the place. They were sooo slippery! What a mess. :D

Why don't try create a maskeshift storage for the uncut sheets? Just imagine those uncut sheets as posters and how do posters sellers do about rolls storage.
Just an idea, though.

I ended up buying poster size top loaders for them. Now they stack easily. Thanks for the suggestion!

I am blown away and so pleased to receive my Circus cards. Marianne certainly made a statement with her first project and she really delivered. The two gripes I have would be the handling (NPCC, so no surprises) and the lackluster back of the Deluxa edition. The gold is quite muted, so it just doesn't lend much vibrancy to the project.

That being said, this is my favorite artwork of the year and the tuck boxes just ooze luxury. Side note: the coins are fantastic as well!

Marianne Larsen's Circus Playing Cards has been nominated for 52 Plus Joker's Diamond Award as 2021 Deck of the Year.

So I figured a few more images that haven't yet appeared in the thread would be appropriate. These are all of the Deluxa Edition.

What do you think are the chances of this deck taking out the award?

Shocking right? I've commented about it in the Shadows page. Let's see if it was a typo.

I guess IT wants you to be in on their kickstarters at all cost. Other than this I can't explain these scalping prices on their website. I mean, I could understand it if the decks would be old but straight after the fulfillment?
The main reason I don't even dare to visit their website and don't own any IT decks.

Well, seems like it, it's like IT punishes those who didn't back the decks by giving you a very ridicolous price ever.
If only I heard about their Chernobyl Decks, I would have gotten them from KS. Now... I'm afraid I have to let go of the quest to get the decks, knowing that IT would never sell it cheap

I do love their decks, but they raised their sale prices before the 20% off "sale". If it was in the US it would be considered a deceptive sales practice by the FTC. Best off to just back the KS. The prices are always reasonable then.

Marianne typically does sell surplus decks on a sliding scale and the price goes way up as the number of remaining decks goes down. It very well may be that you can get the decks cheaper on the secondary market. Also, if you did miss the deck and want it once they come out, getting it from Marianne right after they are released, ti will be much cheaper. As james said, best option is to just get a set during the Kickstarter campaign.

the blue looks nice but i wouldnt even buy a whole brick of them for that price. probably only needs 1 person to buy a set at that price to cover the cost for all of them. she will probably get 1 or 2 suckers at least.

The prices on these are absolutely crazy! I can see an exclusive limited number deck at this price, but you can't just get a basic deck for a more down-to-earth price.

I am not interested. That being said, I guess there are folks willing to pay this for some very limited versions.

I don't think they are alone in this type of thing. It can take different forms. KWP has limited stuff. Gio has his special sales. Lorenzo occasionally auctions some leftovers and prototypes. Charmers had some post Kickstarter decks gilded and put in some different tucks. Again, I can't say this is unique to Isoloated Thunderstorm.

Their pricing is always gives me this impression;
“Hey. You just found out bout this? And you didn’t back it up? Shame… so you have to pay the consequence: to get this deck, you have to pay me twofold”

And since this deck won the Diamond Award:
“And these decks won the prestigious award, soo…. More shame, you have to pay threefold”

I guess One big advice to Isolated Thunderstorm decks:
BACK IT if you really like it, DONT wait it out (no matter what happens)

In my opinion Gio does somewhat the same, his deck prices stay fairly high although he does have frequent sales. Maintaining a premium can be good for a brand, and if they will sell, more power to 'em. The market will always decide.
