Two versions? I think I've made my strong desire for purple decks well known lol, it's even rarer than green, and they're both perfect. I was already sold, you didn't need to do this :P

Yes, there will be two editions where both faces and back will have different color scheme. ;) The plan is to use metallic inks on the back and faces but if I'm able to be present in the factory during printing, I'm working on something that will make these metallics insane.

The KS campaign will be launched on Saturday, November 30th.

Btw, Lotrek, just wondering do you go by "Half Moon Playing Cards" anymore? Or is it just "Oath Playing Cards" now?

I don't have too many green and purple decks so can't wait since I wasn't involved with Chronos and blue Golden Oath.

I might be wrong on this but I thought Lotrek said the decks from the convention were not Blue Oath decks.

I think he said they are not the "Royal Oath". At least I am sure he said he is doing another version of Golden Oath soon. Of course, soon in Lotrek time is....hard for me to grasp. I find that all funny as I know the guy is non-stop motion. :D

The deck sold at the convention was the Blue Oath decks, see my post here

Sorry, I confused that with the Royal Oath decks.

During a conversation I had with Lotrek at the convention, he said he was not going to release the Blue Golden Oath as the Royal Oath as initially planned because as he has learned so much more since the Golden Oath that he no longer thinks the Blue version deserves the name "Royal". While he did not elude to me what it would take for a deck to receive the name Royal, I'm sure that when it does come it will surely be even more majestic than Golden.

Woah. That really tickles the imagination. Considering that Arabesque, Damask and Silk all came after Golden Oath, imagine if he combined what he learned with those 4 decks and put them all into Royal Oath! :ugthink: Now that'll truly be a deck fit for royalty! (not that pretender, Monrachs! )

Indeed. Golden Oath had never appealed to me. It is from a technical point of view undeniably nothing short but a master piece but it just wasn't enough for me personally. With all the effects, stunning things and evolutions that Lotrek achieved with Faible, Silk, Arabesque and Damask, one can truely start to dream  .

For these decks. Oh bwoi, I guess Lotrék reeled me in again. Green and purple look both great. I guess I won't be able to pass on these.

He did up to 4 foils with Damask. I recall him saying that is basically the upper range of what is possible. Therefore, I wouldn't expect but 3 or 4 foils at most on the cards. The details however, could be significantly improved over Golden Oath. Expect this one to be very expensive. I wouldn't be surprised for it to be over $100. That was the amount he sold Damask and Golden Oath. Costs haven't gotten any cheaper. Also, when the price goes up, the potential pool of buyers decreases.

As Lotrek has said before, he likes a project that challenges him.

No, 4 foils is the upper range from an aesthetic point of view. For me right now, technically I'd say that the upper range is around 7-8 different foils. The problem is that the foils I can use to give the high detail I want come in a rather limited color pallette and they tend to be basic colors. Therefore the more foils you add, the less appealing the result may be.

Hmm... Now that I wrote that, seems that there is a FAT challenge here. Hmm....

Hmmm.....

Hmmmmmm...

I almost guffawed a little bit, but then I quickly checked my email receipts and you're right, Golden Oath was something like $98 and Damask Blue was $115! Let the Royal Oath be a long way off please lol.
Lotrek wrote:Now that I wrote that, seems that there is a FAT challenge here.
I'm sure you're quite capable of creating the first $200 deck , but the thought is scary! [MURRAY] Though if you do, all I can really think of to utilise that many foils is a more classic east asian illustrative style and theme, that would surely be a new challenge.

Get well soon. And thank you very much for the replacement parcel. I picked it up yesterday.

Fun anecdote - since a lot mention the stamps - even the woman working in the post office mentioned them with a "Oh, what are these for beautiful stamps?". Kind of weird though, since they were only portrait stamps of Greek personalities, nothing really colourful or artistic. Maybe she is just into older Greek men  .

Yes, these were among the most boring stamps. I think Greece is one of the few countries that still use stamps, something that is practically the same for more than 100 years. I hope they won't change that soon. Even at the post office we make fun around the stamps with the mister who is helping us with the packages. :)

Get well soon Lotrek!

Well in Germany you CAN use stamps, although I think there aren't much using it and also just for small letter like packages. It is way cheaper to create the Label online for bigger packages like yours and even bigger ones don't get stamps.
Additionally the stamps aren't as impressive as yours! Maybe you should design a deck around Greek stamps
