Randy - Have to agree with volantangel. It looks like a dent. Can we say dent? Maybe if you stare at it long enough it might go away. I'm sure it's a minor fix.

Just finished up the last of the Court Cards! All that's left are the Jokers and Gaffs.
Here's a look at the final Spades and a closeup of the King of Spades Egg.
(And yes, I fixed the reflection on the top of the Jack).
thanks, Randy

Wow. That's the only thing that popped in my head when I looked at the King closeup. I'm not really into Faberge (?) eggs, but I think I'll definitely have to buy a few of these when they come out. As for all the detail, is it too much to be printed correctly, even with USPCC? Sorry if it's a silly question, but I'm still new to custom decks, and I don't personally own any that are this detailed. Very impressive artwork, I'm always in awe of anyone who can make beautiful things on a computer. I'm happy when I can cut and paste properly lol.

Thanks Charlie and Volantangel!
Charlie, you should definitely google Fanerge Eggs - the work is amazing!
As for the small details, they shouldn't be a problem. I haven't printed the King of Spades yet but the King of Clubs prints great to scale ony home printer. If details print fine on a personal color laser jet then an offset printer will have no problem capturing the details. The ORNATE Jokers are created in a similar way and have a lot of small, bitmap details - especially on the staff. I could'nt have been happier at how they turned out!
Thanks, Ramdy

Thanks Walrus! I'm glad people are liking these. Being a Faberge fan for many years, I really wanted to do this design for myself and hoped it was good enough for the masses. Tonight I'll be starting on the Jokers. Hopefully the last few cards will be done in a couple weeks and these puppies can go off to print!
I'll have to say "No comment" on the deck producer, for now. I will say it's NOT through Kickstarter.
Thanks, Randy

Randy - is it Jumpstartcity.com? Seems you made the King of Spades to lead into your Jokers with a lid top. Will the Jokers be different on each reversible side one side being open and one side closed. Will it show treasure? Might have to get a deck. Would like to see if the 3-D shows up on the cards.

Sprouts - I never said the Jokers would be reversible on the same card. I HATE that trend of having court cards different on each half. It goes against the best rule in playing cards - symmetrical courts. With the courts being assymetrical it's obvious if someone has a court card in their hand. Sure it's not as bad as 1 court image that takes up the whole card, but the player would still want to rotate the card to check out the facing image.
On that note, here's the set of Imperial Jokers! These are the only Eggs in the deck that will be shown on a stand, and at a perspective camera angle.
The "surprise" inside is the Imperial Crown of Russia. The Joker face mounted to the oval frame is the part of the model from the Ornates' Jokers!
- thanks, Randy

The jokers look realy good, they go well with the rest of the deck IMO!
My magician side is thinking that you could put a reveal on the surprise joker, but my collector side is begging for you to make these cards available!!
Great job!

Thanks Volantangel and Sms69x,
The only cards left are the Gaff and Ad Card. I should have them wrapped up by the end of this coming week!
The Ad Card is definitely not just a logo thrown in, I like to have a little fun with them.
thanks, Randy

And that's just one of the reasons why you're an awesome deck designer!

If you throw these on jumpstartcity.com, I'll throw in a "Pitch Point". I think it's time you break out these guys out. I'm sure the ppl here can help you with the "Gaff" card. I think ppl with like them...

Nope, no JumpStartCity!
No help needed for the Gaff card either. I should have the Render going for it tonight.
Here's the Spades all together.
Thanks, Randy

Hey Everyone,
Scott Carey from Tuck Case posted an interview with myself if anyone's interested. It goes into why I got started with card design, my background and a little about my family.

Here's the Imperial Gaff Card. It's a reference to the very first Imperial Egg - The Hen Egg.
Instead of having a golden Hen inside, the Eagle cover is removed to reveal the golden Eggs and Birdsnest inside!
Tonight I will start on the last design.
thanks, Randy

Thanks elcyciB and CasualPixels!
The designs are all finished! I'll be prepping the files for USPCC over the next night or two.
Thanks everyone for the feedback during the whole process.
There will be some news this week within an Imperial Deck interview for Scott Carey's Tuck Case blog.
For now, here's the Midnight Ad Card. I'm treating it as an extra court card!
thanks, Randy

All I can say is STUNNING. This is by far the most beautiful deck of cards I've ever seen and I can wait to get my grubby little hands on them.

That is one gorgeous ad card! Finally went back through the thread and looked at all the cards and they really are quite lovely. Diamonds are my favorite suit since I have a thing for green, but they all look great. I think if they were real eggs I'd actually want to collect them too. Looking forward to seeing these for sale so I can grab a few decks.

Wow.
As a former Russian & Soviet Studies major during my college years, all I can say is... I'm blown away. And as a card collector, all I can say is... where can I get me some of these? I don't want to miss out on these the way I missed out on the most recent Ornate release!

Hey Volantangel, all I can say for now is it's been an interesting couple months since I finished the Card designs. The scope and strategy of the Imperial Deck has changed quite a bit over that time. I should be able to release some concrete info in a day or two - hopefully!
thanks, Randy

This is why I hate this section. We are now commenting on this deck in 2 spots. The thread is locked. Any comments should be done on the thread in the new & custom deck section.
Thanks!
