Point of reference...I just signed up for the mailing list earlier this week and I got the email today. There may still be time to get in on it.

Uhh, did anyone see the picture of the "Proof of Concept" for the Ascension Limited Edition in the secret sale email? Does that mean the signature edition? If so, that looks very different from what I had in mind... as well as what is portrayed in the kickstarter art...

I wonder if it's the opposite side of the signature edition he posted on the campaign page. Perhaps the back of the tuck box? Very curious!

When he says "1 of each listing at most per person for A1 Group" does that mean I can only order 1 set total from A1 or 1 of each set?

I got it as I reread my question after posting.

Congrats on the Hana Signature, the tuck sleeve is nice. Every single thing I wanted sold out immediately.

Damn. Was aiming for an Anubis + Osiris gilded combo, regular combo, Muertos combo, and extra Osiris. Guess that was greedy, only came out with an individual Sun, Celebration, and Osiris and had to go back to make substitutions while checking out. Thought there would be more there, or more time.

I was mashing refresh and had an on-screen counter; it took me 17 seconds to add my items and checkout, but they were all sold out by that time.

Awww, I noticed a lot was sold out when I logged in at 1159. Maybe my computer clock is behind.

I did get a pair of the standard Hana decks that I wanted. The signature ones are just too much for me.

I'm guessing there were ten or less of the Hana signature editions since a total of 100 were made and 90 were made available on Kickstarter.

I'm glad I actually got the top 3 decks I most wanted (well, I would have preferred a gilded Osiris), but I wish I'd at least dropped x2 Osiris in my cart so I could have one to open.

I cannot convey how absolutely torched I am on not getting what I wanted to get. Everything's in my basket and when I go to checkout it is all sold out. I refreshed the page at 12:00 and 12:01 because products were being populated. Now if I wanted them do I now need to get a loan to pay for them on ebay?

Same thing happened to me. Also, the Hana Gold decks were added slightly later than the other secret sale items, throwing off my timing.

I was going to get a set of the Underworld decks too, but I'm too upset to bother now.

I really like Steve’s stuff, but I am way overdrawn in playing card purchases, so I had to sadly pass this time. Watching those Hana Signature decks sell was tough, but the right thing for me. Time to save up for Lotrek’s new deck. I think it will be a foiled deck with hand applied gold and silver leaf. Price available upon request to qualified buyers.

And some of these responses right here are exactly why I hate the artificial rarity stuff. Not only does it cost more to create overall, it is irritating to try and get one and the only real winners are the resellers and those with the luckiest refreshes.

Not saying that Steve Minty in particular does this on purpose, but some definitely do.

I guess we will see how many signature series go up on Ebay for double+ the price.

I actually think what Steve Minty does with sales like this is amazing. He's selling extremely high demand decks of cards - proven by how fast they sold out - at something like half their aftermarket value. Yeah, some resellers probably picked up some sweet stuff and will get a $50 payday from it if they were lucky enough to even get the goods, but a number of collectors with no intention of reselling saved a bundle today vs what they'd spend on the aftermarket to get some beautiful cards.

I've seen other designers who release their unsold decks for elevated prices comparable to the aftermarket itself. Not saying that's wrong, but the opportunity to expand a collection at retail prices is nothing to sneeze at even if you strike out once in a while.

He could have also sold the Hana Signatures only as combo packs - I would have been priced out for sure!

I'm not sure what the answer is to this problem though - lottery systems? The same thing happens to Kings Wild stuff too

Worth mentioning that the Hana decks came without numbered seals, and the Anubis/Osiris came without the wooden cases - to alot of serious collectors that would make all the difference in the world, regardless of price. Also, those Muertos decks were priced very well. I had to pay much more than that for a couple of them to complete the set years ago.

Oh for sure. I wasn't bashing this sale or Steve Minty. Just pointing out some of the problems inherent with limited and super limited runs.

I do not have a hairpin trigger to snap stuff and I have managed to get almost all of Jackson’s stuff. I only find out by checking his site a lot of getting notice here. I am sure Steve had just a few signatures anyway and it is cool he made them available at that price point with advance notice. He made it as fair as he could to everyone. Hats off to Steve, and congrats to him on a great secret sale!

It was definitely nice to buy them from the creator. The Hana standard decks after shipping really only go for cents more on Ebay but I was happy to buy them from the creator directly rather than a third party.
