Hello all,

It has been a while but progress is slowly being made! I've got some ideas for stretch goals but am unsure on the best way to approach the stretch goals.

I'd like to offer a metallic gold version of the default, where metallic gold replaces the green/purple on the back and the pips use black and red. I'd also like to offer a borderless version for each design (default and metallic gold) as stretch goals.

Would people be interested in the metallic gold version or should I just keep the default version and offer a borderless version of the default version as one stretch goal? Opinions and ideas are welcome!

I like that idea, I was thinking 3 stretch goals would be too much as it would be highly unlikely that each one would be met. Just thought I'd offer some options and receive input. Thanks hsbc!

I support this. I wouldn't go for more than 2 decks in your first KS campaign, you can always do a V2 project later on with new variations. I also think it's a good idea to use other stretch goals for upgrades that improve the decks themselves.

So, with Cartamundi buying out USPCC I've contacted Gambler's Warehouse again to see if there are any price changes because of this merger. I've also asked them about the tariffs here in the US on whether this will effect production costs by the time I would be placing the actual production order (because I wouldn't be surprised if the production facility gets their card stock, glue, and etc from China). Kind of dodged a bullet by not pricing the funding goal and launching the Kickstarter yet in the midst of these two issues.

Stretch Goal: Borderless Gold

- Gold foil accents on matte tuck case.
- Metallic gold accents on card back, courts, aces, jokers, and gaffs.
- Count of 500 or 1000 for the stretch goal, still undecided.
- Black & Red suit colors.

I know I've been absent for a WHILE. Although for personal reasons for that matter. This project is not dead and will be fulfilled to 100% completion, I promise.

My son's 1st birthday is coming up on 9/24. Given this deck is dedicated to him, an update regarding the status of this project will be announced on his birthday. I think you'll all be happy about this announcement.

Hello all,

We're 16 days into the countdown, only two weeks left (including today) until this project goes live on Kickstarter! October 24th is the day you will be able to pledge towards the qbix project. Specific details on the exact time of day for when this will happen and early bird options will be coming soon.

I've been posting updates (almost) every day on my Instagram, so be sure to follow up there! I'm also finalizing a Facebook page where future updates will be posted, in addition to Instagram, and you can ask me questions on there as well.

Hey all, as we grow closer to launch day I'd like to make a quick announcement.

After much consideration, the quantity for the standard edition will be reduced from 2500 to 1000 (quantity of 2500 will be redirected as a stretch goal). As a first time Kickstarter, I'd like to make sure the scope of the project has the highest chance for success so that the people who have been following and helping this project for any amount of time are able to receive a qbix deck. Decreasing the quantity not only increases the chance to successfully hit the funding goal, but also decreases the risks & challenges of running a Kickstarter.

With that said, we are still on track for the launch day of October 24th. That means in 9 days you will be able to hit that pledge button! I am beyond excited to see this come to surface on Kickstarter and have the qbix playing cards move onto the production phase soon after the 30 day campaign run time.

Just wanted to point out that the proposed Cartamundi buyout of USPCC won't actually even be up for government approval until January 2020 and once (if?) approved it still takes a few weeks to get done.

Earliest possible date is early February and my guess is that it might be looked at very carefully because of the obvious monopoly issues.

Indeed, good information to know!

According to Gambler's Warehouse, production at USPCC has not been affected and doesn't look like it will be affected during the merger with Cartamundi.

But as we know how life is, it's full of surprises! I'll be sure to keep updates flowing as the campaign progresses, through production & shipping, and all things after.

I do believe qbix is priced very competitively compared to others out there based in the US, especially the Early Bird pricing!
