Thank you for the feedback, guys! Wow I'm impressed by those displays :)

Some info on the boxes:

Black Monolith will have a very fancy box with matte stock, holofoil and UV spot ink. Maybe embossing (it's a stretch goal, but since many asked, it's highly probable I'll do that).
I've decided to make the holofoil on the card backs unlocked from the start and the holofoil on the fronts unlockable as a stretch goal (highly probable, anyways).
I did this to be a little safer on the money part.

White Monolith will have a simple box, but with Pure Silver Ink.
There will be, anyways, a stretch goal to improve it with foil/embossing etc - but this one will be high, this project is really crazy in terms of cost on my side already and I will need funds to do that :)

See you soon!!

Gio

I've gone full on Gio fanboy this week so I'll be right there on the dot to get involved in Monolith as soon as it launches.

Looking forward to the White deck

15 minutes late. The early bird twofers were all gone already, of course. This is what I get for having a job that occasionally requires my attention. :?

Gio....

You should really go and write a full anthology for this deck... the story and the focus on matters, elements, and creation is enough for film writers to pick up....

Hi, Gio.

There's a bit of a math error on the description section of the Universe Box:
8x Black Monolith decks (value $176)
8x White Monolith decks (value $520)
First, your prices elsewhere are listed in Euros, but here, you list them as dollars.

But, more importantly, later on in the description section, you list the White Monolith decks as 15€ each. 15€ x 8 = 120€, not 520€.

Which means the "just the decks retail" is 296€, not 696€.

You use the dollar symbol for some other values, as well; you may want to make sure you meant dollars and not Euros in those cases.

Edit: I added the "kickup" to the original post, and changed the subject to note that the project is now live. While adding the Kickup, I noticed that you're already 86% funded. Well done!
All that said... these decks look amazing. I'm in for three of each. Can't wait to see what other stretch goals come into play!

Thank you guys! It's going fast :-)

@akicer - yes, they are - unfortunately the features of Black Monolith made the production of it really expensive.
Anyways, I think I'm using relatively good rates on Kickstarter, compared to retail. I hope this makes sense :)

@Decknowledgy - There are 4 chapters of the story - I will release them in the updates.
I hope it will be fun ^_^

Thank you! I'll check - I should have fixed one error, but you're almost for sure right for the others. Sorry for the mistakes!
The KS prices are in EUR, but the wesbite (where is release decks for retail) is in USD

I was in as quick as I could be, backer #22, but somehow didn't get the early bird pledge; I was sure I hit it, but obviously not for some reason.

I agree. I mean, you get what you pay for (especially with Gio) but this is pushing it. Nice technology and execution but still, it's enough to give me pause.

I dunno. There’s a lot of tech in there for €26 shipped. Kings Wilds latest campaign with shipping is about $25 to the US and personally I much prefer this design. Jackson’s EU shipping makes his campaign much more expensive too (just using his campaign as an example of another top contemporary playing card designer pushing the boat out with foils etc)

With the EB on both decks it was an easy one for me. Easiest KS decision I’ve had in a while too! Different strokes I guess :)

Teetering on the edge of the rabbit's hole with this one. This is my first TI deck and I can see a whole lot of previous decks worth checking out. So much for college for my kiddos, lol! Excited for the pure silver and holographic features!

I agree 100% with what you have said, if you can convince me Jackson's new campaign is well priced :)

Wow, already funded and just €500 away from the first stretch goal! Really hoping both tucks end up embossed, the USPCC-standard glossy tucks for Lucis and Tenebra were disappointing :(

Happily managed to grab one of the coveted early bird pairs. Yes Gio decks are pricey and if/when I can't snag an EB I'm more hesitant to back (also why I'm over the moon about his Patreon, it's a great deal) That being said this deck looks crazy awesome and I'd back it at full price :D :D The colors......

I hope these get the matte and embossed treatment as well. I agree the 3 glossy tucks from Betrayers were, meh. The art on the cards though... top notch!

I think this set will be priced just about right if the tucks get matte and embossed. Before that happens, the black deck will get foil on the faces so that will put it in line with HOTRS Cartomancer.

Unfortunately, HOTRS raised the bar on expectations on what a $25 deck can be so high that so many decks just seem overpriced for what they are offering. That deck has become a measuring stick for me that most will not meet. Not to say I won't buy them, but when I see a deck that goes near that price that doesn't have matte, embossed, foil inside and out with very custom art with front and back foil cards my brain pauses just a bit.

I love Gio's art and style so much that I have to get them anyhow, but it does sting a bit when such great cards are encased in a flat, glossy stock with plain white interior. They deserve so much more. Gio has explained his choice in other places.

Love you, Gio, none of the above was meant as any disparagement of your work.

I agree with you that Lorenzo really set the bar for custom decks, especially with Cartomancer. The deck is stunning. The tuck box is stunning. Just awesome. I look forward to seeing the TI deck in person to make the comparison. I'm also backing Invocation with the cool silver backing as well. I hope we see the same incredible quality as with House of the Rising Spade! Cheers

Hello guys, a quick reply :)

Holographic cold foil is different than silver and gold - it raises the cost a lot. Consider I had a "backup quote" that uses silver foil instead holographic.

I am aware that the USPCC standard stock is not good as a custom one - but I don't hate it.
Usually I use the standard box on decks that are supposed to be focused on cards (and of course are priced differently than the ones with a custom box).
I will do more decks with custom box in future, but I will also do more decks with a fancy, fully-custom box.

Monolith is going really well, better than expected - if it will continue, an upgrade of the White Monolith will be possible :)

Thank you for the incredible support!!!

Gio

I really appreciate your participation here, Gio, and probably wouldn't be out of line saying everyone else does as well. This is the age old balance and struggle between seller and buyer. The seller trying to make a living and to be fairly compensated properly for their work and the buyer trying to get as much as they can for the lowest price.

We love you Gio. Thank you for being here and being an amazing artist that shares their work and passion through such a cool medium, providing an excellent product.

Says Amy while using Misery clip as the gif... no subtle hidden meaning there right? :ugthink: I can never not think of Misery and Kathy Bates whenever someone proclaims themselves that they are the no.1 fan.

Aside, Kathy Bates was amazing in that movie and thoroughly deserved the Oscar for her acting in that show.
