LUXURY SEAFARERS
HITTING SHORES SOON

Image
Image

A couple years back, we introduced Seafarers - a nautical take on the humble deck of cards, featuring oceanic imagery and storytelling. The deck was a hit - enough of one to sink an entire ship.

That’s why we’re bringing them back, but with a luxurious spin. Complete with embossed foil tuck boxes and metallic inks, you’ll walk the plank if you miss these.

More info to come - follow our Instagram for live updates on the progress of these bad boys.

We’ll see you soon at the captain's table. Release date and more details to follow.

Not that I needed this particular one but huge thank you for the constant updates in general hsbc.

For the decks itself ... 🥱. Not feeling the colour swap to classic aka overdone white/gold or blue/gold.
Maybe the cards itself prove me wrong but I doubt it.

i really like these decks but i hope they do something with the cards as well, not just tuck swaps.

Yah. No. Just different colours. After having the OGs and Submariners (due to a bundle deal) I have no need for those.

yeah, i didn't figure there would be any difference. i have both of the other decks as well. i really like the deck and foil, maybe they will be priced reasonably enough to make it worth picking up at least one of them.

This edition will be available as well with the upcoming kickstarter for the luxury edition (feels wrong to say that when you're aware of Oath, haha) of the Seafarers.

Such a badass name for a deck...
Jody Eklund did one this year named Kraken.

True... almost three years after @Decknowledgy made that observation. :)

That giant squid does certainly appear on a lot of decks, though, no?

You think *that's* bad?

On more than one occasion, I'll check on a thread to see what new posts are there, then I'll add a comment only to scroll up and see I made a similar comment several years prior... OR, I had previously posted a comment that expresses an opinion that is completely the opposite, and I'll be like... who the hell was I when I wrote THAT?

I have done this with coding quite often. I will look at a piece of code I wrote years (or sometimes even months) ago and I do not recognize it at all!

I like 'em, but they're expensive. Commodores>Admirals. On the fence, which is usually a bad sign, but we'll see.

Does anyone know how to get a hold of these guys? I've tried Kickstarter, their website, the email on their website, Instagram... nothing. I pledged 2 of each, been asking about possibly getting 3 commodores and 1 admiral instead of the 2/2 split since day 1 of the campaign and it's been radio silence everywhere.

*guy - J&T is a one man show. I experienced instagram to be the best bet but if you aren't in someone's messages already, the recipient gets no notification there.

i like the seafarers and i am actually a submariner but i can imagine they are going to be pricey as gilded and limited edition of 100. neither of which interest me.

I'd assume, too. The last gilded decks were $52 retail. The Chrome edition Dystopia went on sale for $35 though so, if enough folks stay cool ...

I know that the Joker and the Thiefs cotton bag fiasco was really a low-point, but still this will be a rather nice deck again so backing for just for decks might be something to consider. Might not be smart to back anything fancy though, like any possible wooden boxes
This deck looks incredible but I am really torn on this one. Despite the earlier fiasco, those cards looked amazing and I have them on my P52 wishlist. However, I am hesitant to support them after how they handled the bait-and-switch. It was a shitty cotton bag with some great decks but the way they handled the situation was unacceptable. Do these Voyagers look incredible? Absolutely. I may be able to get a cool nautical-themed deck in league with HMNIM without paying a fortune. Will I be supporting those assclowns? Yes.

I will probably skip the campaign, then add to my wishlist to grab on the secondary market, like with the J&T cards. Then they aren't getting my direct support, at least. Should this be a hard pass, considering their campaign history? Tell me what to think, people!
Sorry, late to the card design / collecting game. But what did these guys do that made them blacklisted?

Never mind. This is an old trend from 2019. Haha. I am truly late to the game.

Story is told quick so here is the summary:
J&T (back in those days a duo of two nice Australian blokes) ran a kickstarter and had a pledge for a box set, which wasn't shown in the campaign. After the campaign, they ran into problems with the boxes and decided that without any communication to their backers it would be sufficient enough to switch the limited box set into a limited decks-in-a-by-hand-screenprinted-organic-cotton-bag. After the debacle they continued to communicate poorly and verbaly attacked backers, who were (understandably) mad about the switcheroo situation.

It was years ago and J&T (now run by only one of the founder) did focus on what they're good at - decks - and did not have any further hick-ups.

New installment.

But I just like to say the every sticker seal should be like theirs:

If the UK fulfilment is being handled by a UK distributor (CardInn) then why is it £10 p&p for a single deck of cards? Are they planning to hand deliver each deck by Uber or something? Ridiculous.

I hear they are sending them all by authentic pirate ship and they will indeed be hand delivered by a trained actor in full costume. Most of the expense is parrot related.

Damn parrots. Always so costly. On one hand I would have preferred if they go with monkies instead. But I guess the amount of disappering parcels would rise significantly in that regard so, there is that.
