Montenzi's decks and tuck cases did not / do not usually say the manufacturer right on the decks, with the only exceptions that I'm aware of being those printed by Cartamundi or USPCC. I'm inclined to take him at his word that WJPC was his go-to manufacturer in the PRC. As I noted in my other comment, WJPC had a reputation in their early years of being rather erratic when it came to sourcing their paper; I seem to recall hearing that from at least two designers, although I know that in more recent times, both Montenzi and Guru had become comfortable with getting the kinds of results they wanted out of WJPC.

I don't recall noting the NEO Ltd feeling out-of-place insofar as it felt like a half-way point between the quality of the two earlier decks.

I notice it's been a couple months since Montenzi has logged on here at the UC. I'll have to see if I can reach him on other venues....

To anyone who has the deck:

What is the cut on the NEO Ltd deck like? And can you faro the cards?

The deck I have has super smooth edges, and faroing the cards is just not possible. Definitely a step down in quality from a typical deck. But perhaps it wasn't printed by WJPC after all, or the deck I have is prototype or something like that. I've had it for a while already, and only just opened it recently in order to compare with some other WJPC decks I have.

Hi :D

This deck was printed by WJPC. They bought some experimental paper, and it was hard to cut and apply an air cushion finish. Their machines were not set up for such a paper, so this deck was printed using two sheets (half of the deck on each) with 90 degrees rotation. Otherwise, they were not able to cut it properly, and it was a risk of damaging the machine. It is what it is. Faro is almost impossible.

Boxes: Ok, it was probably one of the first boxes printed with cold foil! I have never seen anything like this before. I promised more than 5 foils on a box during Kickstarter, so I had to deliver. Cold foil was the only option. I spent maybe one month searching for a manufacturer. I found a factory, and now I can tell you that this factory printed EPCC decks as they sent me some videos with unreleased decks in production. It was a packaging factory - they printed bags and boxes etc. Then they sent boxes to WJPC to assemble.

That's it. Ask me if you have any questions.

p.s. I am busy with other projects, so my new deck is delayed. Also, I remember about Hello Tiki prints!!!

Thank you so much Montenzi for your excellent answer. It is all I could have hoped for and more. I hereby give it a second `thumbs up' of thanks.

Clearly the person at WJPC that corresponded with me was simply wrong in telling me that they didn't print this deck.

BTW, the tuck box for this deck is amazing. I also love the cards from your Montenzi No 7 deck that Cartamundi printed with cold foil - absolutely stunning. Keep up the great work over at Montenzi!
