Football... I'll never understand why games with people spending most of their time grabbing the ball are called football... Must come from all the concussions

Aussie Rules is a great game though. Way more fluidity and action as in American Football and less laying around like in Football (Soccer). I would recommend Rugby aswell, if one is interested in these kind of sports.

Somebody in here a fan of Sumo? No, seriously, I love Sumo. I always watched it back in the days where Eurosport (tv channel) used to broadcast the 4 biggest bashos from Japan. Unfortunatly, they stopped doing it. No more Sumo for me *cries in European*

A few years ago, a Japanese TV channel in America broadcast the Grand Sumo Tournament. The channels was usually subscription only but broadcast the tournament for free. I don't know how I found it but I watched it every night. I really enjoyed the spectacle and found it oddly comforting. I haven't seen it broadcast again though. I suppose it is on YouTube like everything else these days. Not the same feeling though.

Aussie Rules: Just kidding about the "man's game" thing. They used to broadcast matches on ESPN back in the 80's (when there was only one ESPN). The problem was that they used the Australian TV broadcast and the commentators didn't explain anything. There was no Wikipedia to looks things up with so we would just watch for hours trying to figure out the rules. My dad and I particularly enjoyed the guy in the coat and pork-pie hat who would solemnly step out onto the pitch to signal a goal. Once I learned the rules I enjoyed it even more. It's a very exciting and fast moving game. It's rarely broadcast on basic cable channels over here but, once again, there is YouTube.

I like to leave that kind of question there, just in case that some folks out there still believe that the more violent something seems, the more "manly" it is aswell.
