Couldn't agree more. Love your posts and gives me a chance to see cards of decks I might not otherwise get a chance to look at.
You have cost me money though!

Thanks, Strag!
Out of curiosity, which deck(s) did you end up buying because of my posts?

Some decks that have come in over the past few weeks.
Two copies of the Mad Deck, one of which is going to a fellow forum denizen who is desperate for them. Luckily had a friend pick these up for me at the MOMA sale. A couple sets of Bicycle Prestige which I plan on trying out in my home game. Some standard Bicycle Dragon backs in red and blue along with my Red Floral decks and (finally) my Green and Red Call of Cthulu decks.
Top row;
Transformation reprint of a very famous transformation deck from the 1800s. This reprint was issued in 2004 and is plastic coated. Next in that row is the Gold Limited Edition 1984 Olympic decks and then, of course, the Ogma by Skulkor.
Middle row;
A series of alcohol branded playing cards. I really bought this deck for the Knob Creek deck which has a VERY cool design AND is made by USPCC, I haven't researched the other decks yet. All are sealed although the Smirnoff has some markings on the back:
Bottom row;
The Beatles Yellow Submarine deck which has some amusing pics although no real integration into design. Next is a Carte Mundi deck that I thought might be a transformation deck based on the tuck box but isn't although it has some cool courts. The Palladin deck is a transformation deck I've been wanting for some time. Tuck box is not in great shape but the cards are perfectly fine and the unique semi-transformation deck is one where every card is basically a play on words. Next is a different reprint of the same deck in the top row. This one is printed on stiff board stock and has no back and square corners. Interesting in that it "feels" more authentic for the design although you could never play with them. Finally in that row, the Birch's Beer Company deck. Made in India, this deck has a very unique design, some pics of which are below. One thing about this deck (and keep in mind I'm no Cardist) is that it is VERY thin and springy. One of the nicest feeling decks I own. I do plan on contacting the artist and finding out who made them. Take note of the special "One-eyed Jack" below;

Unfamiliar with the Mad Deck, I did some Googling.
One of the pages where it is mentioned is this one, which shows seven artistic decks:

Distressingly, I have none of them!

Hey strag
Interesting decks. I will have to watch for that Knob Creek deck - are the faces as off-white as they look?
About those facsimiles you have of the Karten Almanach transformation deck, who made the second one? I think I have seen it before, is it the 1971 Editions Leipzig? I have the Geothe one from Lo Scarabeo, a facsimile of the one in the Fournier museum, and one made by FG & Co., called The Maid of Orleans, that, like yours, has square corners and unfinished paper. (If you would like to look for more transformation decks you may want to have Albert Field's book on the subject.)
I bought the Birch's deck about a year back and it's one eyed jack is still my favorite. If you find out who printed the deck could you let me know?

He's either selling them or he's just trying to torment people for the fun of it.
EDIT: Hadn't seen his post in the Bicycle Gunslingers thread, although he doesn't say anything specific there either.

Understandable. I was just beginning to wonder if I had hallucinated sending it!
Best of luck with the move!

When I saw that there was a Harry Potter-themed Bicycle deck, I immediately started picturing what it might look like:
First, a no-brainer, was that the four suits could represent the four houses of the school - (Griffindor, Slytherin, HufflePuff, and the fourth one which I can never remember the name of).
I imagined the four Aces showing either the coats-of-arms of the four houses, or perhaps the artifact unique to each (the sword and so on).
The courts could go any number of custom ways:
1. the two boys and one girl from each house most prominent in the books (Griffindor would of course have Ron, Hermione and Harry).
2. the two most prominent male and one female instructor associated with each house. (Snape would be the King of Slytherin's court)
3. The older students (I forget their title) who herd the younger ones in each house.
The two Jokers? Easy - Ron's twin brothers, the pranksters of the school! They could even be depicted astride brooms, a'la traditional Bike Jokers on their Bicycles!
So imagine my disappointment when I got my copy of the deck today:
==========[ Bicycle_HarryPotter ]==========
They did indeed associate the four suits with the four houses, but they only went so far as to put the houses' coats-of-arms on the Aces.
The courts? Standard Bike courts - BOOOOOO!!! What a missed opportunity!
The jokers? There were three of them, simply drawings of Ron, Hermikone and Harry, with nothing Jokerish about them. Oh well, better than standard Bike jokers, anyway...
The additional cards? One was taken up by the third joker. Fair enough, but the other one? A blank-faced card!
They could have gone with the map the kids used, or a diagram of the school, or the cover from one of the books, or a ton of other things, and they came up with a blank-faced card?!? I know they can be used in a number of card tricks and fans/flourishes, but - bleah.
The back? standard Rider Back, in an off-Red. Ho-hum. Why not at least put the cupids on brooms?
All in all, quite a let down.
Sigh...
