FB Update: It took 3 days and 30 posts, but that idiot finally figured it out. For whatever dumbass reason, he thought that the Avengers were trying to "change the past" of Earth-616. He finally f&*king realized that they already knew the past wouldn't be changed, but the multiverse would be created. Idk why it took so long for such an elementary concept to be understood.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
I'd just like to give another shout-out to Omar and his excellent YouTube channel The Gentleman Wake. Watched some deck reviews for the first time in awhile yesterday. His videos are just excellent. One of the only guys whose videos are gravitating/entertaining.
David and Magic Orthodoxy is probably #2 on my list of go-to reviewers. Production value is definitely not as good, but his videos are pretty nice, and usually very informational.
Not sure if anyone else is even worth bothering to look at after those 2 guys...

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
I really love the TGW channel. Omar's production skills are incredible and I like that he doesn't hold back on criticism when it's warranted. I also love how informative the Magic Orthodoxy reviews are, so I would also place him as my #2 source. I mentioned this on another thread, but I would put Victor's channel at #3 mainly for the sheer number of decks he has opened. He is often the only person out there to share any footage of a particular deck, so he's a great resource.TwoPiece wrote:I'd just like to give another shout-out to Omar and his excellent YouTube channel The Gentleman Wake. Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
The production value of TGW is unrivaled and awesome. I personally put David and The Card guy still above him, because I mainly watch reviews to get informed and I don't need the bells and whistles of an awesome cinematography for my deck reviews. For that reason I like Omar's short reviews more than his longer ones. But I only chime on his channel occasionally. Although my favorite video from him is still the Ravn purple haze deck review. His acting in this one pure cringe; in a kind of funny way and I think that is intentional.BaconWise wrote:I really love the TGW channel. We don't have to speak about David... Facts... Fast... Period! (That is why I and I guess all the others like him). I even watch some of his magic reviews although I don't do magic, I think that says it all.
The Card guy just started 4 months ago (for people that browse the deck review section Kingfisher-Zero) and still needs some work regarding a constant script and kind of his own personal style, but the potential is there and I like his voice.
When I started looking more into cards, of course Vjose was one of the first that come up, but definetly not my cup of tea. Some of the worst videos on youtube. It kind of speaks for itself that a guy with one of the biggest collections out there that opens every deck he can get his hands on isn't that much watched. There is no deck out there that would make me watch his videos. Stopped watching his channel instantly and the last time I checked a deck I muted the video and skipped through the cards. If the reason people watch your videos are solely the decks, you're doing something wrong as a video creator, imo.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
Victor's "reviews" are good for only ONE thing; Seeing a deck that may have insufficient pics or videos elsewhere. His reviews are not good by any means. If there is a video available by ANYONE, ANYWHERE, I'd watch it. Even if it was a first-time YouTuber's 1st upload.shiroo56 wrote:...When I started looking more into cards, of course Vjose was one of the first that come up, but definetly not my cup of tea. Quality is always better than quantity, Bacon. Victor has the latter and nothing close to the former.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
Story time boys and girls.
Since we lately had to witness worst customer service from a kickstarter creator, I thought I might share a little wholesome story.
Some time ago I did what I always do, once in a while, roaming around and stalking different instagram profiles from UC members. Our dear member Romeril has an awesome collection and opens his decks, therefore his instagram is full of great pictures of great cards (highly recommended, I think it is linked in his signature here).
One deck that I found there is the Gallia Belgia playing cards. A deck Roope shared here aswell at the beginning of 2019, if my memory doesn’t fool me. Since I saw it I decided to get it, but since it is no high quality deck from a sought after designer, it sits in the webshop of the creators calaveras.be for 9€ and is far from out of stock; therefore it wasn’t high on my to cope list.
This week however I pulled the trigger and ordered 2 decks. With the decks I ordered a non-related silk screen print aswell because I really love the picture. Just after ordering I realized that it is printed with glow in the dark colour aswell, a little icing on the cake.
After the order confirmation the shop owner messaged me immediatly and told me that the glow in the dark feature of the print isn’t as strong, as it was when fresh printed, since the prints are a bit older. He asked me if I still want the print or if he should refund me! I was in positive shock. Most peeps these days would have been quite and would have never mentioned it. This shop owner offered me a refund before I even had the chance to complain! Faith in humanity restored.
I told him however that the glow in the dark feature wasn’t the reason I bought the screen print and that I would be fine with it. I told him that maybe to compensate me he could throw in an extra deck of cards. Only few minutes later he answered that he would of course put an extra deck in my package.
TL;DR: Good customer service exists and there are creators that care about their business.

People typically only speak up to complain - which is why I also speak up to tell stories about great service. It's only fair. Thanks for doing the same!shiroo56 wrote:Story time boys and girls.

This shop owner offered me a refund before I even had the chance to complain! Faith im humanity restored.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
My brother's wedding was more of a shit show than I'd expected..
- Biological dad of bride arrived. Mom went into full-drama mode, "I can't see him, I can't talk to him, OMG I can't believe he showed up", lol etc.
- Couldn't hook wedding official's mic to any speakers. Some people probably heard nothing. Lol.
- They put a little stupid-ass yapping dog in the wedding party. Walked down the isle with a kid. Breathed louder than the official during the entire ceremony. Sigh...
- Both "vows" were simply stories rather than actual vows. Like, we know how you met, nobody cares anymore. Weddings are about futures.
- Head got sunburned because:
- MY SIDE OF THE FAMILY WAS NEVER TOLD THERE WAS A REHEARSAL, SO WE REHEARSED 30 MINS BEFORE THE CEREMONY, SO WE WERE UNDER DIRECT SUNLIGHT ABOUT AN HOUR LONGER THAN MOST.
- Music was too loud at reception. Speaker feedback was louder than the music, too.
- Food was mediocre-at-best. The food was THE BEST part of entire event.
- Was told that I was "done" with photos. Took my shirt, tie, and vest off. Had to put that shit back on TWICE dammit.
- The weather was actually okay, but since reception was in a f&*king BARN, it was too hot and more than half everybody lingered outside.
- "Send off" was listed at 9:00. I left with my older brother at 5:30, even though they realized people were ditching, and moved send off up to 7:30. They eventually "sent off" at 6:30 because no one wanted to be there anymore.
- Seating at the wedding party table was worse than any sports venue I've ever been to.
- Had pie instead of cake. Seriously?
- No liquor. No limes for Carona.
- Imagine a group of 6 cackling hens who are as LGBTQ, PC, and SJW as possible. That was the bridal party. NO ONE outside of their family wanted to interact with them.
- 1 of those dunces is married to the photographer, who is bald, but has dyed green side-hair. Looks like Krusty the Clown.
- Not sure if they're that couple's kids, but there were 2 running around with dyed blue hair, and under literally NO supervision.
I could probably go on forever... Thank lord it's over!
