So if the back of this tuck actually look like that picture with a gray back, it may be easy for people to sell or trade them without showing anything else.

I didn't receive a shipping notification. But I never get them despite Lotrék saying he sends me one, lol.
Who cares though, I always got my decks, that's what matters. Good to hear shipping started.

Got mine, too. Let's see which one lands first; my thick care parcel from the US, which is in Frankfurt already or Crypt... next week is going to be amazing.

Memo to myself: buy paper towels and desinfection wipes to clean up all the drool...

So, for those outside of UC and Instagram who bought the deck: how will they know to keep - C R Y P T - a secret? I hope Lotrek included a little card or something with that request. I guess we'll find out this week!

All who know about CRYPT know it either from here or from my newsletter where I repetedly talked about secrecy.
If you ask my honest opinion, I think that even if I had the packages delivered by a police officer with a strict warning and handcuffs on display, somebody with a nickname on E-bay would still ruin it. The question is if this will happen within the first minutes or seconds. Of course, I want to be proven wrong. I like the idea of a closed community where people share the same secret wich is only transmitted through words and not pictures.
As I said before, the main reason I didn't show pictures is that due to the nature of the foil work (hint), no picture can do justice to the deck. If you try to get photos, you'll see that they're nowhere near to the real thing.
So I developed this idea and turned it into a game - experiment.
Let's see.

@Lotrek

All this secrecy kills the reseller market. Until you confirm what the deck looks like (even after people have received theirs), nobody can be sure! Any deck sold as a crypt deck on eBay will have an asterisk next to it. *may or may not be actual crypt deck

Woundedcorner will list crypt and plans on selling it exactly like Lotrék did - without any pictures. I doubt that it'll have a significant impact on the aftermarket. Collectors know who to trust and where to get legit decks from. If you don't - ask here or get finned for being ....

I said this before but regarding this request I love to repeat myself: last time I checked I'm allowed to do with a deck of cards I buy whatever I want. Which of course is true for the forum aswell but I would heavily shake my head if the owner or mods would support this.
I myself will refrain from posting pictures but solely for 2 reasons: A) Because I do indeed believe that pictures (unless from a at least semi-professional photographer) won't do the deck justice and B) simply because Lotrék asked in a polite manner, which I respect.

Agreed. While we all (I think) want to honor the idea behind this awesome deck, I don't think the forum should enforce bans for violating a social experiment request like this.

@Lotrek
Is it possible to buy a blank deck same card stock as the crypt deck but no foiling, no back, just white cards for our "deck" reviews. It would be fun to review this deck with simply words and making fun of anyone watching a video by only showing the blank cards.

Hi, I got my decks yesterday, and wow opening one of them feels like a luxury experience. I love everything about the packaging. The only problem is, I wasn't able to access the cards, the flap to open the tuck is very thigtly hold in position and the grip is not large enough to actually open it. Anyone has any tips on some utility i could use to get a grip of the flap and open it without damaging it? Lotrek sure likes to keep these a secret, even when you actually have them in your hands :p

It looks scary but it isn't. You won't damage it and it opens easier than you think. It's a crypt after all, don't expect to enter as in a supermarket! :lol: :lol:

Lotrek is bringing the craft series back and maybe spend a few days studiying Steve Minty.

Didn`t a Venexiana Gold just sold on ebay? ;)

Silk is an amazing deck.

I spend half an hour just opening this monstrosity. I love you Lotrek.

I dont even wanna start to ask how you managed to pull of that look on the cards.

I love the new version of the Ace of Spades, reminds me of Fable.

The little pips below the card index are stunningly beautiful. The spades are my favourite.

I think this is a great example of how Lotrek wants people to share this deck. With expression of words and not pictures.

This post makes me want to get my cards so bad without anyone killing the excitement. So thanks again to @MSimonart for a great review without exposing anything...

Sounds like Lotrek hit this one out of the park again...

----Spoiler: If you prefer not to read any review/opinion on the deck to enjoy the full mystery experience yourself, don't read this comment.-----

Well let me excite you some more. I did like lotrek said and put my fear aside to get a hold of the flap. First thing I think about seeing the edges: are these gilded edges? (I won't tell you if they are). I take out the cards, more gently then how I opened that flap, a first glance, and BAM, I know I'm holding something special right away. I don't have the luck to have opened a lotrek deck yet, so I can't really compare, but this is otherworldly, not even hesitating if it was worth the price, this could have been sold 200 each, you wouldn't find anything to say against it. The fact there is a mystery around the deck makes it that much more enjoyable to open them, and the mystery component would complement any deck opening, but this time, it's not only the opening that is exciting, because even after opening them you feel like the mystery component is still there, within the concept and theme of the deck, of the packaging, of everything. As if checking back on them 2 minutes after opening it is like opening them again for the first time, you're right away plunged back into this mystery theme, from the packaging to the cards themselves. The theme + the cards really make it feel like this is a special product, a piece of art I'd say, the product trancends it's pure material form, it's more than just cards, it's a total concept/idea, to which every part pf the deck contributes to. Though many times reproduced, you don't think about that when you're holding them, it's as if you're the only one who has them, as if they've been made and carefully packaged and inspected just for you.
I don't know if even posting a review does honour to how I feel about this deck. It's the apotheosis of my love for cards. But like I said, this is my first lotrek deck I open, so maybe I missed another otherworldly deck of him before that. But I don't care anymore, I'd gladly trady my whole collection just to have another lotrek deck of this standard, thruthfully.

I have, for the moment, just spread through the cards a little, check the deck as a whole, and inspected the jokers. This is exactly and even better than I was expecting, because I not only recognize the workmanship, but I actually like the design, colours etc, which I could have found not to my taste, but this wasn't the case. So not only is it objectively an exceptional deck, it's subjectively exceptional to me as well.

I'll just take my time(days, weeks) to look at it again and again, until I've looked at every card and then I'll just start over again, knowing the mystery will always be there, waiting for me to grab a hold of it and look at it. :drool:
