Our Starbucks machine blew up Monday, our Pod coffee brewer blew up this morning, and I don't feel like going upstairs for coffee today.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
I received my graded (9.8) copy of Detective Comics #666 on Monday.
I should be able to fit Superman #666 and Batman #666 in my budget pretty soon.
Action Comics #666 may be impossible to find. Only 2 have ever been graded. I may have to put a bounty out for one.

Re: Last person to post wins. . . . .
Although I've read a few comic books in my day, I've never been a collector. Seems like getting an issue count that high would require a series to be a going concern for a lonnnng time. Do you only collect the DC lines, or do you also collect Marvel and others? Are any of the Marvel lines up into or past the #666 mark?

Detective Comics has been in print since 1937. Action Comics since 1939. When they rebooted for the first time in 2011, for the New 52, DC made the mistake of doing that for both titles (despite them being in the 900's). When they launched DC Rebirth in 2016, they went back to numbering under "Vol. 1" (despite being truly Vol. 3, I guess?), and just skipped the New 52 issue count. So, both titles skip at one point from around issue #910, to issue #955. 80 years is definitely a long time.
Despite Marvel Comics Group launching in 1940, I don't think they've ever printed a 666th issue. They've rebooted more than a few times. Last year they rebooted their entire universe, and I think every long-standing title is at Volume 5 or higher, now. This is just based on brief research, because recently I considered a collecting goal of every 666th comic issue ever printed. It would be unique, and CGC Registry gives awards to unique collections. Marvel may have a #666 that I simply haven't come across, but it's doubtful.
I do have some Marvel comics on my radar for my collection, but I only have graded DC comics at the moment. My paperback and hardcover collection is probably close to 45/45 each (Spawn is an Image Comics property). Marvel has better crossover events and DC has better single-title characters IMO. So, I have the entire collections of things like Civil War, Infinity Gauntlet, etc. And I have larger collections of characters like Superman and Batman (soon adding Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern).
Superman probably could've made it to 1000 at some point, but DC did a weird thing in the 80's where they renamed Superman Vol. 1 to "Adventures of Superman" and launched Superman Vol 2. So, you had 4 Superman titles during the 80's and 90's. Action Comics, Adventures of Superman, Superman Vol. 2, and Man of Steel. Superman is currently at Vol. 5 after DC Rebirth in 2016. It's a good title, too, with a combination of great artwork and writing.
