Hiya nemonelson :D Thanks for checking my thread out. Coca-cola decks are no easy to find over here so i`m glad i got a joblot at a good price early on in my collecting, i`ve only managed to add a few others since :(
shermjack wrote:Jase, your decks are always so diverse and interesting...it is always a joy to look at your thread! The only problem is that everytime I do, I end up spending more money because I want a lot of the decks you show! :? Out of curiosity, where do you find most of these wonderful specimens? The two I liked the most out of your recent decks were the Alice and Wonderland limited deck (which I was able to pick up one for myself  ) and the Basler deck. :D Thanks for sharing!
Hiya Shermjack :D Thanks for having a look at my cards and sorry ( i think) that you spend more than you want to after looking in.
99% i get my cards from e-bay, mainly U.K sellers but sometimes worldwide my modern decks are mostly cheap e-bay purchases or Kickstarters (but i`ve not been backing many decks lately). i don`t know what to say.. i don`t really go out looking for specific cards on e-bay ,i just browse about a bit and if i fancy any i`ll put a bid on....
I think i get good deals because i`m not too picky about what condition the tuck box is in or if there are any jokers in the pack, that kind of thing , i`m just interested in cool cards ,most collectors want close to mint as possible.

Anyway here`s some more cards i hope you`ll like. :D
First up a reproduction deck called "Floral" produced by F.G &Co in 2003. The original pack was produced by Rock Brothers & Payne from Britain in 1861. The traditional suit signs have been substituted by Roses,Pinks,Violets and Hearts-Ease.
931.JPG
A couple of Modern Bicycle decks
932.JPG
A reproduction of a Hungarian Folklore themed deck originally produced by "The Playing card factory and printing house" of Budapest in 1965, This edition was produced in 2004 by the Fournier card Museum from a pack in their collection.
933.JPG
And a single picturesque back titled "Milady" from waddingtons,Gilt edged cards with only One Joker but an Extra Anonymous Ace.

Aren't the 2 part slide boxes for those FG & Co. decks nice? I wish they had been more successful with those. Would like to have seen more beautiful repros by them.

Like shermjack I'll have to keep an eye out for that Basler. Add it to the long list

Why does the Picturesque deck have 2 aces?

Hello my friend :D , Sorry for the late reply as i`ve been a bit busy lately.
Yes i love the F.G &Co cards, i`m only familiar with the 2 set that i have and no nothing about the firm or any other decks they made , but will give any of their sets a second look if ever i see them. I`m pretty impresssed with the Il Meneghello Packaging as well.... Some really beautiful sets out there.

Hello back, my fine feathered Scott :)

Il Meneghello does do up their sets beautifully. They also pick interesting/odd subject matter for their own decks, like that mushroom arcana you have.

Nice score on the Chapman transformation. That King of Spades is a really handsome court card.

I understand entirely about not wanting to divulge information you can't be sure of. That's a good policy I wish was more broadly followed on the internet. I'll be gone for a while but I look forward to coming back and seeing everything that has been added here, and elsewhere on UC. Keep it coming :ugdance:

Loving that Hungarian folk deck. I see you've fallen for the spell of Meneghello tarot decks harhar their stuff are really nice - they generally choose quite interesting topics, and experiment a lot with dimensions, card stock, box type, etc. I highly recommend their La Corte dei Tarocchi. I heard tell that if you visit their store in Italy, Osvaldo Menegazzi (the owner) actually sometimes makes boxes for the visitors.

Muluk Wanuwwab published by Aurelia books in 1972, Limited edition printed by Carta Mundi.
1000.JPG
The Mamluk cards were discovered at the Topkapi museum in Istanbul by L.A Mayer, who in 1939 wrote a treatise on this deck. Later scholars now agree that Mayer was wrong on several points regarding the Mamluk cards.
Unfortunately Jan Bauwens ,the publisher and writer of the Booklet (in French) was not aware of the corrections made to Mayers assumptions. Despite suffering is some regards from these mistakes this pack is an excellent reproduction of the only arabic playing cards exstant and the reconstructed cards fit well with the originals and overall design.

Size comparison with a few other decks. From left to right Mamluk , Hofjagdspiel , Hofamterspiel and a circular card from Master PW above a poker size bicycle card.

Was going to post this in the "Look what i added thread, but decided to start flogging this dead horse thread instead. so here goes...
Described by Dominic Murphy as "The only one in the world"
This box set includes a poker sized lost tarot pack and a bridge size demo deck of his secret tarot deck.
The demo deck was rejected for printing due to the cards being misaligned as you can see from the cards shown.
1024.JPG
A 52 Card deck from Hunts playing card manufacturers This is the earliest of their 2 aces (See the later one a few posts back) and is dated from 1865-1872. This Joseph Hunt is not to be confused with the earlier Joseph Hunt who began producing cards from 1790 and in 1830 became Bancks brothers, late Hunt until 1889.
1025.JPG
One for my American buddies next :D
U.S.P.C.C began printing "Americanische Gaigel" around 1895. this deck (Due to the back design) is much later possibly 1930`s or later but would need someone more experienced in American decks to confirm.
The pack has 48 card for use in Pinocle, 2 X (7,10,Unter,Ober King & Ace of each suit )
1026.JPG
And of course some Waddingtons to finish the post.
a pair of tax wrapped "Challenge" brand, still with the sample cards which is pretty suprising as these were usually sold on as "Swap" cards.
1027.JPG
Thanks or looking at my cards :D -jase-
