I've had to cut way back on my new purchases so it was nice to have some old Kickstarter projects show up recently:
Top row: Omnia
Middle row: Omnia bonus card, Middle Kingdom black coin, Omnia coin, Middle Kingdom gold coin
Bottow row: Middle Kingdom
The Middle Kingdom coins are really amazing. My crappy picture does not do them justice. The black coin with its raised gold dragon on the front and spade on the back, is just spectacular.
Omnia Antica and Magnifica added to Portfolio 52

Thanks Gio. I haven't had the nerve to open them yet, but judging from the bonus card, they are going to be amazing.
The coin came out beautifully as well. I'm glad you went with the figure on both sides instead of "Omnia" on the back like the first one. Excellent job, as always.
PS: Sorry about the lousy cell phone picture. It really does not do your work justice. We need to get Kai to take some of his amazing photos to show the world just how beautiful Omnia is.

My Omnia decks also recently arrived and they look terrific. All in all, I'm very happy with the results (and to boot, they're done early).

The other two Omnias are great but that Magnifica tuck is magnificent. The triangle seal kinda gets in the way of the top view but I don't wanna peel it off yet.

Thank you, guys, I'm very happy about the positive feedbacks for Omnia: The Golden Age
I and EPCC did our best, we tried to make the project smooth and fast and awesome. We agree'd from the start to deliver early, but I wasn't sure so I didn't promised
We want do Dedalo even better, I can't say anything now, but I saw a preview of the foils and they look incredible

Been bad with taking pics, but I've gotten in some beautiful decks recently. The Omnia trifecta, ICONs sacred, Now You See Me 2 Monarchs, Devastation, and of course my favorite series, No 17 Le Chat Rouge. Brilliant work from all the creators. I've been wanting to cut back on my purchases, but with decks like these coming out all the time I just can't.

I think those half brick boxes are a really effective development, and that LG is onto something there.

A quick question about my purchace from ebay about 15 minutes ago. Soooo... I just bought an offical, sealed deck of Jurassic Park Playing Cards, printed by USPCC in 1993.
Anyone here that owns one? Are they rare? I have never seen one, and it is printed in 1993 by USPCC, so one would think them to be worth something right?
I can show some pictures once I actually get it, I actually haved it ship for Sherman in California, who will ship it out to me with some other decks sometime in the future, so I won't have it in my hands for some time. I paid 8,90 $ and about 7 $ for shipping, so it wasn't that pricey either. Let me know if anyone knows anything!

I'm fairly certain that I bought one of these back in '93. I don't recall the courts being custom, but I could easily be wrong there. Are they "worth something"? I'd think that they might be worth more to a Jurassic Park collector than to a playing card collector, but not very much to either. YMMV.

6 people on P52 have it, assuming you mean this one -

As for rare/value, just check ebay sold listings, seems you got a fair price, but so have a number of others recently.

Hope springs eternal, Rap!
BTW, what's with the all the Sierra Madre love? Did you grow up there? and/or are you living there now? I grew up in Baldwin Park. CA, not far from there. I've driven through it many, many times, but don't recall much about it, sorry.

The Sierra Madre thing is from one of my favorite video games of all time, Fallout: New Vegas and it's amazing DLC Dead Money. Dead Money has an amazing feel and look and the its story about the legendary Sierra Madre casino, frozen in time, looking over the city of dead with a red toxic cloud looming over and the treasures of the Old World inside. Finding it is not the hard part. It's letting go. Basically the story, the melancholy feel and the haunting Art Deco look left a deep impact
Never actually been outside of Europe, but I have traveled in Europe a bit.

What I learned the hard way with Baseball cards in the late 80's and 90's is that any collectibles worth, from Baseball cards to coins to Playing cards, has a lot more to do with rarity than age. And sometimes you have to be careful with that. Ellusionist decimated the Value of my Black Club, Red Arcane and Gold Artifice decks when they decided to have a sale and dump hundreds or thousands of decks onto the market all at once. Beware of artificial rarity.

Yeah I fell for artifical rarity some times on my earlier collecting days, as well for the hype. Luckily I am getting smarter and I only really buy anymore what I want and not what people making hype about nothing tell me I should want.
I actually thought that these would be rare as I had never seen one, it was a bit old and I thought that they would be collectable because of the popularity of the movie. But yeah, I should have done some background checking... Well at least the tuck case is quite nice so I'll just keep it sealed.

An interesting example of this is the playing card deck "Kennedy Kurds", the courts of which are portrayed by various family members and friends of the Kennedy family (JFK, Jackie, Bobby et al).
The deck was published not long before JFK was assassinated, at which time the decks were taken down from store shelves and sent back to the publisher ("Humor House", if memory serves), (along with other merchandise depicting JFK in a satirical manner), considering the deck to be "in poor taste" in light of the tragedy.
As a result of this, very few copies of the deck were "in circulation". And published price lists for political collectibles had the deck isted for $80.00 or more (and this was in the 1980s & 1990s).
BUT THEN...
Apparently, someone happened upon a cache of the decks in an old warehouse somewhere, and started selling them, a few at a time (thus keeping the price inflated). Eventually, a ton of the decks got dumped into the collectibles market, and copies of the deck were EVERYWHERE, usually selling for around $5.00.
When eBay began (as "Auction Web"), there was seldom a day when there were fewer than five or six listings of the deck, with most of them going for five to ten dollars.

My latest dealer button / cover card: (thanks, Steve!)
After six (ten?) weeks of hibernation (actually getting both myself and Donna back up to speed), I will be coming out of the silence zone shortly. Friday, I should be finished with all the follow-ups and other fun stuff. See you then,
