Read the update and the comments of the page where you posted the link to UC.
Jackson and his helpers is telling his backers that their rewards will not ship until next week if they included a Moriarty deck.
Apparently telling them that you will not request a refund is useless.
They are being very clear on this.
I don't really mind you getting special treatment -- JR can do whatever wants.
But a bit of discretion would have been nice.

Right. I've had enough of all you lot going on about how you can't wait to get your hands on these decks.
I missed the kickstarter. It completely passed me by.
Now, after looking through the pictures of these decks, and also reading about how great the previous kings wild decks were (Feds), I've decided I need these in my life.
I'm after 2 of everything including the misprinted moriarty. I'd be over the moon if someone could also spare 1 Limited Edition. (Not holding my breath)
I'd also like a couple of the v2 moriarty but I'm happy to place a pledge through the current KS Campaign.

I know...
I'm a fool.
I should of got on board with the campaign. I didn't. And now I seek forgiveness for being a complete tit!
Anyone???

Just wait a little while until all the KS orders are fulfilled. Jackson will be selling some decks on his site (including the LE), and it will probably much cheaper than the asking price on eBay. I saw someone try to sell the LE for $189.99...

I wrote an epic novel and then decided I wasn't going to post it. Let's just say that I am always going to make an effort to make UC have "First looks", "Heard it here first" and "Saw it here first" things. That's what I do - try to make certain that the users here have an edge. I know that when we get an exclusive preview it's all over the place within 15 (5?) minutes after it's posted here. Do I care if people copy us? Nope, I do not. I expect it, and in fact I see it as a true bonus. I've always heard the imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and I'm always going to do my best to give us a head-start if not really a jump on people that don't come here. I didn't decide to buy this forum to see it fall behind the rest - I did it to make it a better place, and if anyone wants to sit me down and show me where I went wrong, I'm ready to listen. I think that everything I have done has made this place better for all of us, and I hope that people at least appreciate the fact that I try very hard to make it better.

Did I accidentally leave one of the Moriarty decks in the picture even though I had signed my name in blood stating that I wasn't going to be wanting a refund? Yep. Am I going to try to waltz around it or deny it? Nope. Did I do it on purpose or trying to be a show-off? Not really - I did it because people have been saying for at least a couple of days that they have gotten their decks but nobody has shown any pix yet. Am I really happy to show the stuff off? You bet! It's another example of Jackson's amazing work that turned out a whole lot better than it even appeared to when we were back in the campaign phase.

I'll get off my soapbox, now... :ugthink:

Mike,
We all want UC to be great, and we appreciate your resurrecting the board.
Your post on UC was fine, even with the Moriarty tuck reveal. I even kidded you about not getting the wood box.

I find boards like UC and the Discourse refreshing in that we board members can and do post both positive and negative comments about new decks and the business's behind them. This works best if criticisms are made as gently as possible, and if the creators take no personal offense.

I didn't think your comment on the Holmes Kickstarter comments page was cool, as there are over 1000 other backers who are waiting for their decks to ship because they're getting Moriarty decks -- so I called you out on it. I didn't know then that Jackson considers you part of his crew and that's why you got your rewards early -- that's an honour, and I don't begrudge you for it. I do understand that there is politics associated with every human endeavor.

I do it because I love it and I'm an addict, just like everybody else here (well, maybe one of you isn't). I kind of doubt it. This place exists these days because I refused to sit back and watch it die, frankly - and because the people here appreciate that I saved it. Actually, I didn't just save it: I doubled the active membership in under 4 months, brought back almost all of the resellers and designers that the previous owner chased off because they were "competition" and made wholesale changes to the way things are around here, all for the good, in spite of the fact that a few of them might have had growing pains.

Shoot, are you sure the box is made by EPCC, not LPCC :D.
I passed on the paper box, 'cause I bought some of the Fed boxes from JR's site when they went on sale.

The coins are beautiful, but I frankly don't know what to do with them -- they get lost sitting on a shelf and I'd rather open up a Fed 52 deck and play solitaire than stare at a coin, and my crew doesn't use dealer coins for poker.

Now a Fed 52 set of chips might be another story, although I got a set of Paulson Classic chips last year and love them. That's a mash-up I'd love to get.

I pledged for the wooden box. I wish I got it delivered before The Independence campaign closed -- I chickened out in the final days -- I found it hard to put down $350 for the box without having received the first box. Not that I thought it wouldn't be awesome -- I just wasn't sure if it was $350 awesome. I'll probably regret it once I get the Sherlock box... :?

Since you're a completist, did you get the Fed 52 Man Crate? I got one for Christmas. The whisky glasses are fantastic!

Sherlock Holmes series available to purchase?

Unread post by adanyeva2 »

Hi there,

Anyone knows, including Jackson, the date Sherlock Homes playing cards will be put on sale in Kingswildproject.com? I missed the original campaign and I wouldn't like to miss the sale, considering there are a small number of some decks.

Anyone can help?

Thx!

I believe they'll be available once Jackson believes that all his backers have received their decks. The original federal 52 went on sale in the website sometime during the Sherlock Holmes campaign. The Sherlock decks have started to ship out already but I have yet to receive mine since I'm an international backer. I think Jackson will make an announcement when he's about to release them in his website. I'd recommend you also follow his Facebook page at Kings Wild Project to stay updated.

About a month ago (?) he said late April, but they shipped late from USPCC and general shipping started Tuesday, I believe. Give it a few weeks, at least. The LE Baker Street will go quickly!

I'm trying to get all the rewards for the project shipped out by the end of the month, and hopefully have the SMALL remaining inventory on my website around the first of May. I've just been to slammed to change the "coming in late April" Tag line on my website.

Here's the info from the Kickstarter campaign...

The Limited Edition Baker Street Edition -

"The Limited Edition Baker Street Edition is the perfect deck for any Sherlock Holmes fan. The Baker Street Edition features the same intricate back design, as the Baker Street Edition, that includes iconic elements from many of the beloved stories. The court cards for the Baker Street Edition are identical to those in the Baker Street Edition an are inspired by the original late 19th & 20th century engravings and illustrations that were released with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels and short stories. The Limited Edition Baker Street Edition tuck case features premium paper stock with embossing and Gold foiling. The tuck case is printed both on the inside and out. The playing cards inside are USPC Aristocrat Paper Stock with an embossed magic finish. The Baker Street Edition will also come with a custom 221B Tuck Seal in honor of Sherlock Holmes' home in London."

I just received my shipment yesterday. I haven't cracked open any of the decks yet, but the tucks are so freakin' incredible that I'm beside myself. And I'm one of those guys who used to think that the rest of y'all were paying *way* too much attention to tucks. Wow. Just... wow.

However, with this project, I chose not to pick up a dealer coin, and now I'm wishing I had. Jackson? Will the dealer coin be offered on the Kings Wild website? (It's not, at the moment.)

On an only tangentially related note, I also used to totally pass by the uncut sheets, until Uusi's Royal Optik convinced me otherwise. Now, with Jackson's recent posting of the Independence uncuts (LTD Continental deck), I've decided to add a genuine Jackson Robinson to my small but growing collection.

Ouch, my wallet!

Cool - I'm in a hangout with Jackson and a couple of others working on the Tally Ho "Turtle Back" right now, and he just said that: May 10th is the 'live' date for sales on KingsWildProject.com - those Limited Edition Baker Street decks won't last long - there just aren't many of them left to start with. $50 or $45 if you know the magic sauce. (and no - you have to find it yourself, I don't give away his discount codes, please do NOT ask me!)

My source says there are about 30-something of the Baker Street LE decks left, so don't be late on the 10th when those go live if you need one: I predict they will go in a day (or less). I'll ask Jackson if he has a time as opposed to date only. I haven't seen it, but I haven't been looking for it either.

As far as the Hive decks, I'm told they will of course be in Taiwan market in about the same time-period (no precise date), but won't make it (by ocean freight) to the US market until about two months from now, but no firm date because it's impossible to give an accurate date when something is coming from China by boat. Remember how Paul was with Zenith? Exact same situation: they will arrive in the port and we'll all know that they are only a few days from being available - and that's the best they can say, no fault of theirs. The boat gets here when it runs out of water between the Port of New York & New Jersey, that's pretty much it (once it leaves Taiwan). Same as with Paul's.

"Turtle" Backs (New Circle Backs officially - so far still) are still in design, that's what we're watching right now at the moment.

SEE CHRIS' NOTE ABOVE: NOON ON 10-MAY-2014 IS THE DAY ALL THE SHERLOCK HOLMES DECKS AND TOYS GO ON SALE AT JACKSON'S WEBSITE.

The difference between the two are the tuckcases. The cards are identical.

Sorry about the delay. As Jackson has stated elsewhere, the orders are being fulfilled in similar orders (ie. all orders that have 6 decks and 1 dealer coin). There's not a specific patterned order of we're fulfilling all the 1 deck order, than 2 deck order, etc. There is a method to the madness so that everything is done correctly and you should be getting your shipping notice and deck soon.
rousselle wrote:I just received my shipment yesterday.

Trust me, the amazing tuckcase is worth it to put in that time and design to make sure it's amazing. As for the dealer coins, there's definitely some left after all the Sherlock Kickstarter orders are fulfilled and they will be up on the site on May 10th for sale.

Brenden, Sparkz (Tony), Jackson and myself spent several hours in a video Google Hangout last night whole Jackson was fine tuning his Tally Ho New Circle Back ("Turtle" Back) decks.

In fact the preview is pretty accurate in showing what's to come in the not to distant future From Kings Wild Project. Both the "plain" players version and the extra sauce collectors edition are going to renew and reinvigorate the Tally Ho world, which of course has a great reputation to start with. Cincinnati Tally Ho decks are amongst the best handling decks known to exist, and Jackson is getting ready to put a new spin on the old paradigm.

With the public sale set for May 10th, would one be able to assume all orders will be shipped by then? I'm getting antsy here, seeing all these pics of peoples' hordes of these awesome cards yet I haven't heard hide nor hair about mine. I know it'll get here, it's just the waiting sucks donkey balls.

I'm in the same boat, chach. I've been hoping that they just forgot to send an email notification, and I will be pleasantly surprised when I go to the post office. The really bad part is, mail is taking about two weeks to get here now (apparently quite a backlog in Chicago), so if I get a notification this week, it's still going to be a long wait. Oh well, seems like I'm always last...

I haven't received an email notification yet, either. I'm not complaining, just letting you guys know you're not alone. Hopefully we get it before the sale?

From the KS comments section:
@Everybody
We will be finished with the first round of fulfillment by Wednesday. I will be posting a more detailed update about fulfillment tomorrow.
I'm waiting on my order with the wooden box too. Although I'm not 100% sure what Jackson means by the FIRST round.
