An update on prismatic stock :)

I evaluated different papers, and I decided to change the old paper I posted here before with this one.
It took a lot because EPCC haven't this one in stock, so they had to order it to have it available. Hope you like it!

Next step is a physical printing proof of the tuckbox on this paper!

That stuff looks pretty intense. I think that's going to make for some spectacular tucks. :)

Hi there!

Yesterday I got the Signature Edition tuck boxes.

SURPRISE - I added the embossing on all the Signature tuckboxes. I didn't say it before because I was not sure about it.
The embossing is different to the resin bubble (embossing affects paper, the bubble is made of resin and it's soft). Hope this make even more happier everyone backed it. :)

Now, a couple of pics

If you missed the Signature on Ks and want one, here's the preorder link > http://www.thirdway.it/wordpress/produc ... e-edition/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I hope to have the physical proofs of the Delirium Prism ready in a couple of weeks, I'll keep you updated.

See you soon

Giovanni

Pics arrived some hours ago from EPCC and are low res, but I'm so happy of the result that I don't care. The effect is exactly what I had in mind.

In the case you missed the Kickstarter, get it here:

@cherrynukacola: yeah, looks more shiny than expected :)

@sprouts: EPCC doesn't have a selection of papers at the moment: they found this paper on my indications. I think it's different from USPCC holographic stock.

Woah, you have a real petroleum shimmer here. I hadn't clocked the fact that these would be slightly holographic. It really changes the whole colour scheme doesn't it. I need a moment to take it all in. I thought these were just white background, what a goof.

Something different anyway. Nice to source some original stock for the design. Well done so far, can't wait for these.

The thing is that every time you pick it up or move it, as the light changes, so does the shimmer of the refractive stock. They will look even better "in person", like so many decks do these days. You just can't render certain effects.

These are going to be fabulous, especially under a moving light source!

@Pixel Initiative: I also was not 100% sure about what to expect. I thought to use a different paper in the start (I posted it here), but I thought it wasn't too shiny/crazy for this project. So I decided with EPCC to check some alternatives, and when we find those holographic stock I falled in love.

The deck natural color is metallic/mirrored, and the ink is transparent.
I could print white below the ink to avoid the prismatic effect would affects the colors...but I prefer the colors will become "crazy" when you move the deck. ;)

@Volant: Thanks! :)

I think its awesome you've experimented like this - cant wait to tilt it back and forth under a light source :)

I'm running the same campaign on Instagram (I'm giving away 2 books, one for Facebook users, one for Instagram's) :)
http://instagram.com/p/y1iRwGDqiK" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

At the moment the only giveaways I'm doing are on social networks, because I want give "valuable contents" (PRIZES :D ) to people who have decided to follow and share my work.

However I'm also planning another giveaway who doesn't involve socials, probably on my newsletter > http://evildeck.us3.list-manage.com/sub ... 9b3c3591a2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm happy you like the Delirium Prism tuckbox, I hope to have it in my hands soon to post more pics

See you soon!

Hey Mike/Giovanni, what makes this different from the Albino Dragon deck which had a foiled/holographic/refractive (however you want to spin it) tuckcase from USPCC?

Which Albino Dragon deck was that? (Not picking a fight; rather, I don't have many Albino Dragon decks, and if there's one with this kind of tuck box, I'd be up for trying to pick one up for myself. :))

The Dragon Tome deck. :)

Image

I don't think it's the same stock or tech. I AD decks seem to be printed foil. Same with the Synthesis.

Shiny!

Going to have to get a couple of those.

I see they're on sale on their site, too. :)

BTW, the Delirium Prism deck looks awesome, and I love the way the tuck is coming along. Even so, I did wince a little bit on the inside when I saw the words "another first...", because I knew *someone* *somewhere* was going to find a counter-example. Heh.

Again, not to take away from Delirium Prism. But, likewise, not to take anything away from Albino Dragon, either!

I think this is just Mike taking "promotional liberties" again. I could think of a bunch of decks with holographic (refractive is probably the more accurate term) tucks. The Bicycle OC Choppers deck comes to mind, as well as some of Karnival's Limited Edition decks.

@special k

This is a good question :) I wish vive you an accurate answer, but I have to buy the other prismatic deck (s) for compare them with my Delirium Prism. The best answer I can give now is that I'm pretty sure that epcc found a new stock, different than uspcc. I don't know if it's more or less prismatic or shiny. The stock is not foiled (I was going to foil the tuck like Encarded Zenith, but I wanted so much prismatic foil that epcc suggested to find a prismatic stock from the start, and print with PMS colors over it.)

Cheers

Giovanni

Giovanni, whether your the first or not (and who really cares?) shouldn't take away from the fact that your tucks are amazing looking and beyond my expectations, frankly. Good job, and I can't wait for my decks.

Of course I know that is not the first prismatic deck (I was inspired by others "holographic" decks, mainly Zenith) but I think and hope that the stock epcc found specifically for Delirium is enough "new" to ne considered an experiment :)

At least, I can say for sure this is the first prismatic epcc deck :p

Thanks for the thoughts Giovanni. I quoted Mike just because he was talking about refractive - I could care less about first or whatever - marketing is marketing and I just want a nice deck. I truly just want to know the differences. Still very new to collecting cards (NoTW and Fed 52 were my introduction).

So there's a difference between "printed foil" and "prismatic stock"? Is one regular tuck stock that's then foiled and printed on vs...foiled tuck stock? I just don't know the differences and understand.

That said, really like the direction you're taking and excited to get mine!
