Just an awesome deck, chach. Thanks for sharing!

Got a couple of shipment today... First I got my $1 Glitch deck. Can't beat that price... Then got a set of cage garden decks. I have been looking for a long time for those 2 decks and had to settle for 2 opened deck but the cards are in mint condition and they appeared to have never been handled. I paid $25 a deck so I can't complain I guess

Eoghann, which deck was that (the one with the one-word descriptions under stylized portraits of well known people)? I think it (they?) is (are?) hilarious, and would like to pick up a deck or two. Where'd you get it (them)?

When back from vacation next week, hope to have 3 new decks. Most people will also get them (Disruption, Tenebre and KW Tally Ho).

Slow week.

- Grateful Dead deck. If someone has an extra Liquid Blue deck, PLEASE let me know. :)
- Steampunk critters playing cards. Every card has a different animal.
- Sexy NYC Burlesque performers deck. Every card is different.
- And for my boy Nate, a neat transformation deck repro. If I recall correctly, you have this one already, right?

Where did you get that steampunk critters deck? A quick google search doesn't turn up anything with that name.

I stopped by my local thrift store the other day and grabbed a total of 14 decks for $9. I usually stop in on Mondays because it is 25% off day. I didn't bother taking a pic of the Sponge Bob deck. It came bundled with another deck I wanted and they won't break them up. It is USPCC though. As always, if anyone has info about these decks I would appreciate it. All in all not bad. Better than the last.

First up, A pre-USPCC Hoyle deck and an Open Virginia Slims deck. The VS deck is in great shape and has both jokers and the ad card.
Image

Image

Next. The Top Delta deck was made in Taiwan and the cards are in poor condition. The Bottom Delta deck is USPCC like the rest of the airline decks. None have the date code on the AoS so I can't date these.
Image

Last. The top set is in excellent condition and was made for Avon. (Made in China) The bottom set is for a company called Whitman. Not sure where it was made or by whom. It is also in excellent condition. The green deck is open and the yellow sealed.

The Serpentine decks arrived a few days ago. The cards were clumpy out of the box but handled great after some breaking in. Both the stock and borders are thin as well. My only complain is that some of the red Serpentines I received had shoddy tucks with the flap not properly folded and glued. I'll post a picture of that later.

The bonus is an unreleased Tatler deck (hello Kai :P) that was probably created for this event: http://goo.gl/wFjXWP

I gotta say, Firthetic, that's a very good giant fan! All you need to do is round it out a bit, ie tilt the two interlaced packs back towards your thumb before starting the "spread". But it's nice and even, and that's the most important part ;)

Got a pair of replica decks in today after a lengthy delay.

The first one is a replica of a satirical German deck from 1540 that is nicknamed the poop deck for obvious reasons - it has scenes of vomiting, farting, spanking and of course plenty of excrement.
Image

The other is a replica of another German deck, but this one from 1588 and is a bit more sophisticated with artwork from Jost Amman.

@enNate - Nice deck! Would love to see the rest of the first deck. Does this mean two men love each other and now they are fools? If so, that shows the mentally back then.

On the second deck, there is a small discussion on that deck. And it's going to be in the 52+Joker convention. http://www.playingcardforum.com/index.php?topic=6996.0 Basically, I think the wine vessels were the trump suit. It has a couple of hidden features also...

Back of Card in 1588. How cool is that? That is a badass 1588 back of card.

I'll have to see when I can get around to scanning more in, but there are other images here from original - http://www.wopc.co.uk/germany/flottner.html. The deck really pokes fun at the upper class society, hence dumping in their fields and I would assume in this case with the mirror showing that the rich are really just fools.

Also, thanks for the info and link on the other deck. That's pretty cool! Mine is just a cheap replica though so the back is blank.

I was SUPER excited to finally get my hands on this one. The chips are nice clay quality and the cards themeselves aren't too bad either, but it's the insanity of the cards themselves that I love so much. Just wish it came in a nicer box. I'm not even a huge Batman fan either.

Awesome set Nate. The original promo set from The Dark Knight viral promotion campaign is one of my holy grail items. Saw one set for sale once, for a thousand some odd dollars. And it sold on eBay.

 I wanted that dark knight deck too but like chach I couldn't stomach the prices it was hitting by the time I knew about it. :?

That Jost Amman deck ecnate just scored is also shown in more detail in a posting Jase (Jock1971) made in the Germany thread of the Worlwide Time Machine. He posted a link for the source too if anyone wants their own of either of those decks.

ecNate - Nice find. Love the Jokers. "My other Card" is like the (Major)Red joker and "My card" is like the (Minor)black joker. The picture is wong. The red Joker should be first. Check out the font. It gives it away.

@Sprouts, but it's the Joker and he's certifiably insane. I don't think we can expect too much of him. ;) Or maybe just identifies more with the minor one since it appear more violent?

Apparently I should have wait to post that Joker set since I also got another delivery today. 2 more replica decks, the first is a generic replica (F&G did one as well) of an 1888 deck. The other is a replica of the 1804/1805 Cotta deck that I've been looking to get for a very long time. Too bad it's not a true replica as they added a back and indicies which obviously didn't originally exist on the decks. Still, I'm just glad to have something from that great transformation deck.
