Sweet! And they look in mint condition!
This one arrived late to the party today.
A delightfully retro inspired deck set. Printed in 2013. The courts are standard but different design. Just love it!

Oh, "Lucky "LAD!!"
I thought that it said "Lucky "CAD!!"... which would have been a different deck altogether.

As in CAD software? That could be an interesting deck.
Got some goodies and beauties today!
I won't show the banded decks coz they're pretty raunchy. But it's an art collab deck set for the Lascivious lingerie company.
But I got the sexy Grotesque decks and the hard to photograph double black! Only got one coz I much preferred the lighter courts from the occults deck.

Alright, alright I'll take some pics, you dirty old man.
They're not exactly that explicit but yah know. Also I took like a million pics but couldn't get them all to show properly so apologies for that.
Here's both decks.

Are they bridge-sized, Eoghann? This is my token attempt at reasoning with myself that I don't need these decks.Eoghann wrote:Alright, alright I'll take some pics, you dirty old man.

So a lovely scarlet box and a white box with a joker and the number 17 on it turned up today. The boxes sound like they have cards in their shrink wrapped sexiness too.

Eoghann (and others), please stop posting unique decks. This is causing me to search out unique ones of my own or get the ones you post and it's getting time consuming and expensive!
It's fun though, thanks for sharing.

After what seemed like years (only a few months) one of Uusi's finest creations finally arrived at my post office. Absolutely amazing piece of work on Peter's part. Sad that there are only two spaces left...

Re: The "Hey, look what I added to my collection!" thread
Some goodies today. Sorry Nate.
The Gothique decks. Was really looking forward to these coz it would be the first custom MPC deck I'd have with the new finish. I have to say not bad. They still have quite a bit to go to roll with the big boys. But they're definitely improving. The main complaint is the cut. It's a straight cut that makes faros very difficult.
Next the Museum of Osteology cards. Printed by USPCC. If you're into skeletons you can't get any better than this! Every card is a different skeleton. The last two are reference cards telling you what's what.
And third Joker deck by Binth. Interesting courts specially the regal and the forest creatures ones.
I have an extra Binth deck and Gothique set if anyone's interested. I really should start buying just what I need.

Same here. Everytime Eoghann posts his recent aquisitions here, I end up spending way too much money. I don't mind the research because it often leads me to other really cool decks. Anyways, the man has got some great taste in cards.ecNate wrote:Eoghann (and others), please stop posting unique decks. Thanks guys! And I'm glad to be of service.
And yep, very understanding. At first she would just shrug it off, now she surprises me with decks every once in a while. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em I guess.
Just one for tonight. Our friend Firthetic teased it a little a few posts back. Now here's the full set. comes with four extra cards.

Re: The "Hey, look what I added to my collection!" thread
That is a cool deck Eoghann, and thanks to you I will have some of my very own.
Here are 2 of my own latest additions. The first beauties need no introduction:
These next ones were a complete surprise, showing up at a local thrift store today when I've spent years waffling over whether or not I would buy a set on ebay.
This one is for Jase:
It's a double deck from his favourite card maker....
Waddingtons "Rondo Circular Playing Cards". I was very lucky since they don't usually show up with the ante cup and leather box. If you like the cards they do show up fairly often for decent prices, even still sealed, but will probably be in a square cardboard box like these:
http://www.rubylane.com/item/404269-T00 ... ying-Cards" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
According to Jase's Waddingtons article in Worldwide this ace was used between 1930 - 1975. With this joker and back I think these are from the 1960s.

Dazzelguts...you tease, That Waddingtons set is to die for
Hugely popular when first produced in the 30`s, Waddingtons re-introduced the cir-q-lar cards in the early 50`s in a bid to boost sales.the sets were only produced for a short time as the interest in them was not as great as was hoped. The stand-up joker indicates this set is from the later run as the early sets had the sitting down joker.
I`ll give you a "Thanks" once i find where the button thingie is

Re: The "Hey, look what I added to my collection!" thread
Thanks Eoghann. I was floored to find this, definitely a star in my collection. I added the coins - they're the 8-bit tokens. Real flash those. I've gone a little batty on vintage card cases since so many have been showing up in the thrift shops. Usually the cards inside are boring or garbage so now I'm storing empty cases.Eoghann wrote:Wow that is an awesome set! Love the case and accessories! Are those two little coins in there?
I love the clockwork backs and have been wanting a set for years, but was basically pineing for that sweet leather case set. Never thought it would show up locally. Do you have this deck DragonSoul?DragonSoul wrote:Sweet! I hadn't seen the leather case before.
You saw this Jase, cool. This thread can move fast sometimes and I was afraid it would just get buried before you saw it. What's a good tease without it's target audienceJock1971 wrote:Dazzelguts...you tease, That Waddingtons set is to die for

I thought that was probably a later joker. Jase do you know if the leather case was used at any particular time, perhaps just for the re-release? There seems to be so many of the box sets and so few of these. I'd love to know why.

You still know more about these than I do Mr. Waddington. Thank you.
Then according to that second release date my guess of the 1960s is pretty close. And I'll call them cir-q-lar cards from now on.

Re: The "Hey, look what I added to my collection!" thread
Picked this up this weekend when I went to visit family and I'll be darned, Alabama DOES have a tax on playing cards. All I can say is, they sure as heck didn't have it when I was growing up there. I tried to find out when this was implemented and I saw one reference to 2004 but, I don't know for sure. You learn something new every day...

Re: The "Hey, look what I added to my collection!" thread
Got some goodies today.
- The nudie deck, really fast shipping!
- The triplicates. (I have to be honest, I feel I overpledged. Anyone interested? I'll sell my surplus at a cost!)
- Don't want to offend anyone's political sensibilities, but I thought that was a pretty interesting set of decks. That's v2 highlights on display and v1 on the side. V2 has a handful of different captions and cards compared to v1.
- This one came sealed so I wasn't sure what to expect and I mainly bought it coz the tuck was funny. I had deduced the cards would be slot machine artwork. But the aces and jokers were definitely an unexpected and pleasant surprise.

Re: The "Hey, look what I added to my collection!" thread
I've been waiting for a few 'special ones' to arrive, but I just have too many in the past month or so and need to get them put away. So here's the latest, quite a few usual suspects, but a few oddballs as well. My name isn't volantangel so these just get tossed on a table and shot with camera phone, sorry. Just squeezing this in while on a break from work.
EDIT - I'm taking Eoghann's approach and also not providing too many details on any more unique decks, but PM me if you are interested on source for any of these. I'll post a general announcement a week or so later as well for those that are still available and haven't been discussed on this forum before.
I knew these were larger, didn't realize how large. Displaying this box will be a challenge, but I'm out of space for my odd size decks anyhow so will have to work this into the new plan.
Living candy? Can you say novelty? Sold.
I have a special love of transformation decks, but this one I kept resisting since it's somewhat childish. Glad I got it, but I wasn't aware it was tarot sized so that's a bit of a disappointment.
I'm almost certain this is the same creator of the North American Hunting Club deck

PM sent about the game birds.
I just put the egyptian ones in temp storage, but I would guess 2 to 2.5 x as tall as poker cards and 3/4 as wide?
