Jack of Hearts taking shape little by little. I'm planning to have a live streaming in fb where people can watch me working from scratch on a new court. I think it will be interesting.

Good lord that is a breathtaking Jack! I've got to look at that website and see if he painted a picture I'm thinking of. It was Hell or Torment based. Looks like the Jack style.
Move on, nothing to see here.

It's very interesting that one of the main features of Bosch is that there are so many details and little things that catch your eye that you don't even know where to start looking at the picture. You've seemed to have toned it down a lot in this sense, focusing instead on the main character of the court. Are we looking at black stock for these cards like the one beeing used for black mass?

That would be very beautiful but also very difficult. Due to the amount of detail in the court cards I need the clearest possible printing and black stock won't help. Of course anything "difficult" makes my engines steaming so you shouldn't be surprised if I have a limited edition on black stock. It's a nice idea. But for the main edition I prefer to focus on the beauty of the cards themselves rather than having something technically fancy.

Time to refresh this thread a bit as I'm again (mentally for now) working on this deck.

Unlike my other projects, for this I'll be showing all steps of creation AND the live streaming I have announced. One problem is that I have lost all my files when my pc crashed and as a clever boy I am, I hadn't kept any backups...
I'll use the pics posted here and on fb to restore them. Thankfully I hadn't done much work.

Estimated launch is late November and I'll print with Cartamundi.

Hieronymus is definitely not my style of art. It seriously hits my creeped out button. That said, I am intrigued with what you come out with.

Thanks Lotrek. As I am relatively new to this forum, it is only now that I have seen this thread and can only say that these sketches are unbelievable. With this deck, you are taking a step in a completely different direction and one that is both very challenging and very rewarding.

I look forward to the launch in a couple of months...

Well, surely not more than the Grotesk or Muertos decks?

Yes, Hieronymus' art definitely creeps me more than Grotesk and Muertos decks. It just is twisted. I mean there are some other stuff maybe more so, but unlike the others, this is more realistic twisted. Grotesk and Muertos were more abstract. I don't know.

I guess everyone is bothered by different things. Take cockroaches. Those dudes are like 3" around here and fly. They INFESTED my house when I was growing up. I have memories....shudder. Yeah, I don't like those things either. I remember stepping on one, hard. It just bounced up and kept on moving...bad mojo - roaches. I can't CAN'T read the Metamorphosis.

Now, don't get me wrong. I will buy at least one or two of the decks. In a weird way, they do have a beauty to them. It is just not flowers and sunshine. I like flowers and sunshine.

my preferences in art are pretty eclectic; everything from bright, cutesy & whimsical to dark, bizarre & other-worldly and surrealism like this hits all.of.that so I'm BEYOND excited for this deck!

I suppose to each his own, or the other way around... I hear you - can’t say that I am Bosch’s fan but he is still miles better than this modern abstract art where you have to take a guess as to what that particular splotch means (if it does in fact mean anything)...

November? This means there's another Lotrek masterpiece coming out after his 2 Mystery decks and the Ambassadors for 2018? Lotrek's take on Bosch is amazing so far. Is Lotrek trying to go for a clean sweep the UC DotY for 2018? Come on, man. Give the others a chance.

As it'll be Cartamundi printed, hopefully the price point will be closer to the Ambassadors than the Mystery. My poor bank account is already weeping openly in the corner and muttering bitterly about my broken promises to cut down this year! (Alex and Asad's KS projects already drove it to that state before Damask)

I quite like this deck but I'm hoping it's not outside of my comfortable price range like most other Lotrek decks seem to be.

The price of this deck will definitely be near the Player's editions, don't worry! And there will be no foiled (expensive) versions. This deck asks for good painting and imagination, nothing more. The challenge is huge but it's purely artistic.

Awesome! As much as I love the work you put out it's often just too pricey for me so I'm excited that these will be in a lower price range.

This is completely my bag. Bonus that it's "near the players' editions". Equally fortuitous that it's still a couple of months away. I might be able to get more than one!

I think I have picked up Lotrek's players decks for like $10 each when I got 6 or 12 or an Early Bird. His players decks are some of the least expensive premium decks I can find. I am not knocking other card designers, but Lotrek's decks can be one of extremes. Some really expensive and others very affordable. I like that there are some really affordable Lotrek decks out there.

Speaking of which, I can't wait to get my Arabesque Players decks...sometime...

So I am going to try and resurrect this thread while we are all waiting for the Silk decks.

Lotrek - can you perhaps share with us if you are nearing the completion of the artwork on this one? I would really love to see this deck brought to life...

A backer from Netherlands also requested me to do a deck on BOSCH. It is in the works and the subject matter is being researched at the moment.

PipChick, don't even get me started on my cockroach stories. What I said was nothing. You would not be able to turn off the lights at night...shudder....very, very, VERY bad stuff. However, the funny thing is this happened in an incredibly affluent part of down in a very expensive house...with lots of trees...I am saying no more. Baddddd....I don't live there anymore...They can't hurt me anymore...go away.

Time for HAPPY THOUGHTS! Flowers and candy...Yes, HAPPY thoughts! :ugdance:
