Re: Fuego! Day of the Dead Playing Cards - Live on KS
I pledged for these but not for Edgerly's version 2 Muertos decks. These are different and I don't even think of the DOTD theme when I see them.

I really like this one too and backed it heavy.
But plagiarism concerns me. Is that going on here?

Will be backing these. Fun colourful and light hearted.
My only minor concern is other than some great pictures there is not much info on the creator's website for a first project, not that I think I will be scammed but it would just be nice to know a little bit about them.

Re: Fuego - KS soon
I pledged, but thinking about pulling my pledge because of what's been pointed out below. I can't find clarification for image use rights from Steve Simpson -- even though it's not EXACTLY the same the similarities make me feel uneasy now. I mean, the are nearly identical in style and positioning of characters/items.
Can Cellar Window offer an explanation?

In other news though this deck is one of my favourites I have ever seen, but I obviously like and know about this type of style already. I love the colours, I love crisp design, I love I want I need!!

Re: Fuego! Day of the Dead Playing Cards - Live on KS
Hello guys!
It's been a while since I was here at UC. Thank you for supporting this deck!
I absolutely love Steve Simpsons work as well as Natalie Shaw and Cory Jespersen. They were the inspiration for the "peg" that I wanted to create on this deck. Artists usually do this when they are continually exploring different styles, color palettes and approaches. With this in mind everything that I illustrated in Fuego are my own hard work for 7 months. It maybe similar as to the nature that it is inspired by other designs but I created it to fit my own. I has always been a point of mine to create something different with each deck of cards that I make.
These are some of the decks that I finished and others that i'm still creating. All of it are different in style and medium and also inspired by others like Vania Zouravliov, Herb Lubalin etc. And also two of these cards "top right and top left" are also hand drawn rather than digital. I have a lot of influences that I research whenever I create designs so to speak, and I'm still learning but what I create out of it is with my own hard work and hands. It's hard work to put your stuff out there for people to see but I hope you guys continue to give your support to these decks i'm creating.
I give a very warm thanks for all who give support to this small but extremely difficult project I've undertaken [MURRAY]

I'm pretty damn nuts about this deck. Can see how some might be day of the deaded to death, but many vacations to the Southwest have made me a confirmrmed maniac for these.

I would love to see the Luna deck printed... but it does seem like it's going to be difficult getting there.

I did the same. The original funding goal has already been met. To reach the next, people need to add to it to get to it. So the amount from $8,500 to $17,000 will be need to make the next deck. I think people are confused to they need to reach the stretch goal amount first then add on to it when you need to add-on to make it to that goal (if that makes sense if I worded it correctly). Oh, if pledge doesn't make it to the stretch goal that you take the add-on off.

Re: Fuego! Day of the Dead Playing Cards - Live on KS
Well, well, well. Guess what I found in my mailbox when I arrived at home after a lonnnng day at work. My Fuego! decks!
Both decks are quite tasty. The colors are a little more muted than I'd expected/hoped for, but that's not a huge detriment. The red/green decks pop, and both of them have that nice cut that LPCC/EPCC is known for. The tuck boxes are understated, with thick paper, subtle embossing, and a pleasant matte finish. One of the decks was a little tough to pull out at first, but it went back in easily enough and didn't give me any problem after that; these tucks aren't as tight as the Deliriums were.
Kinda funny that they arrived just a couple days *after* Halloween, but I do like 'em, and am glad they have arrived.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Got mine today! Nice fun set. Love the matte tuck!
And in case anyone forgot: I hate, hate, HATE seals! Stupid little pieces of tuck ruining sticky paper.

Use a hair dryer and a razor blade/finger nails to remove it without the mess.
