Hey Randy - I am an Indy native and still here... we should get together some time (I live just South of Broadripple and am at the Art Bank on Mass Ave at least once a week).

Cool! We're over in the Geist area. I'll send you a PM sometime this week.

I need to forewarn you though. My mojo may be cursed with meeting fellow Indy designers. Russell, from Circle City Cards, and I hung out a couple times early last year. Circle City had some bad luck (and bad decisions) with KS projects shortly after that!

Thanks, Randy

No worries... I have a powerful medicine bag to counteract mojo curses.

Looked at the preview, will there be a stock upgrade to diamond finish as a stretch goal at all?

I was originally going with the Diamond Finish, like on the LUXX. Lawrence sent a bunch of sample Decks and I really like the Classic Finish used on the Sharps Deck and switched it up. I'm pretty sure there's no price difference between the two. If there is, I'm not worried about it.

What does the majority prefer, Diamond or Classic Finish from Legends? I haven't seen very many negative comments about either.

Thanks, Randy

I'm particularly digging the diamond finish on the Gnostics and the Egyptian Legends, so that's my preference. However, I'll order these, either way, and expect to enjoy either finish.

If Sinjin has a preference (other than "none of the above"), I'd certainly be inclined to trust his judgement. :)

I was tied up at noon, but got to my phone in time to pledge for one of the last dual EBs. The swirl artwork of this so much reminds me of some of the fractals I produce using the equation V3 (x, y) = x sin(r2 ) − y cos(r2 ), x cos(r2 ) + y sin(r2 ) where r = sqr(x2 + y 2). Some folks see cool swirly patterns... I see blondes & brunettes.

I honestly don't think there is much difference, if any, between the Diamond or Classic finish as far as handling is concerned. I think the designations are more for marketing purposes and they're the same thing. Any variances you feel from the different EPCC/LPCC decks to each other (Legends v.2 versus Exquisite for example) is from the varying ink coverage of the different designs as opposed to any actual differences in finish. The exception to this may be the prototype Zen deck, which is supposed to actually be an entirely different chemical composition in the finish that EPCC is experimenting with, but I don't have a Zen deck (because I have no use for a dozen NOC decks) so I can't comment on the Zen deck finish.

The single deck tiers are now limited number of backers (didn't notice that in preview)... when they are gone how are single decks had?

Edit: The reason I ask is that my next card deck KS was going to have 2nd to the bottom tier of 2 decks at $15ish and the bottom tier at $3 labeled the cost of shipping with the ability to add on decks at around $7 each.

Once the single deck tiers run out, it appears the lowest quantity of decks you can get is by the pair with the option to add on additional decks if you want.

Correct. I'll probably add some more quantities to the single Deck tiers, but not too many. The single Deck orders are always the worst for KS creators (it helps to split the shipping, fulfillment, KS and Amazon fees between multiple Deck costs), so I wanted to protect myself and make them limited. I didn't want to take the chance of having a couple hundred single Deck orders!

Either Deck is also available as an Add-On for $9 ($11 Int.).

Thanks, Randy

I personally think it should be a 2 deck minimum when pledging. Lets not kid ourselves. 1 to open and 1 to keep. Maybe you could make a couple of (brick + the shipping - profit) pledge tier. It would bring you closer to your goal. That would be the ultimate EB....

Maybe just a little air escaping... :-).

That said, I notice those ultra limited, "exquisitely printed", Hive decks over at KWF are still available. Hmm... no further comment necessary.

....exceot to say that I'll take a split brick, thanks Randy. ;)
I'm in for the same "split brick", Randy! As always, these look absolutely stunning and you can only get better as we progress through the campaign, even though I know you're already in the fine-tuning phase. Absolutely stunning deck and tuck - as always. I use/abuse this too much, but "sweeeeet!"!!

I'm not a coin guy, but that Draconian coin looks pretty awesome. It makes me wish I started collecting coins when they first started becoming available on all the different KS projects, I'd have quite an impressive collection by now if I did. I'm wondering if half brick and full brick custom boxes will be available, as well as uncut sheets.

I really want to see this project take off and reward Randy for his very reasonable pricing tiers. This may be the first project I've seen where the deck designer may actually be passing the savings from using EPCC/LPCC on to the consumers, so kudos for that.

Funded in 4 days - not bad... with a month left in the campaign, I wonder what the final pledge number will look like.

StanKindLee and I met and had a couple Beers here in Indy tonight. Very nice guy!!

I was a little nervous about the Charleston trip, but after meeting Stanley I'm hoping other UC members will be just as cool!

For any non-Backers of the Draconian project, here's a look at the Coin prototype. CFA is working on a lot of changes to get the details to look right on the Dragon Head side, but the Scales side looks and feels sweet!

I think we'll be fine, buddy! Looks like we'll have a pretty tight group of contemporary artists/designers this year. About two weeks, now.

I recently became a coin man. By the end product, I may decide on this one. I should get a white Ornates Sapphire coin.

According to Randy's latest update, we can now get a signed deck for each new backer we refer to this project. All we have to do is PM him with the new backer's name and he'll sign one of the decks we've pledged for. I know Randy has signed his custom brick boxes, but I didn't realize he's never signed any of his decks before. I think this is a cool promotion and hopefully will give this campaign a nice boost.

Yeah, I usually sign 4-10 Decks per launch, to confidants and contests on my Midnight FB page. Before now, they would always come from my small personal supply from HOPC/TBC. It feels good to be in control of an entire print run and have fun with it!

Thanks, Randy
