Hey Randy, I've always wondered about something. You had Emerald, Amethyst, Sapphire, and...Scarlet. Why not Ruby? I'm usre that there's a forum answer about it out there somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it, and was just curious as to the red deck being the only one without the gemstone theme. Thanks!

And it would be helpful to get a heads up on pricing...

Pretty, but makes my head hurt...too complicated and too many options for the average person to absorb?

Yes thanks, I would like to not loose the moment please.
Ok, I wasn't planning on it but here's the KS Preview Link (just please don't post it on social media):
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13 ... n=fd717361" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I still have to swap out the Add-Ons Chart with the Brick Box A Add-On ($110 U.S. / $118 INT.) and the project images with the smaller Court PIPS. I don't know if I have to re-submit if I change now, so I'll do those changes a couple minutes after launch.
Definitely check out the Animation!
thanks, Randy

I probably shouldn't say anything since I complain a lot myself, but... complaining about
too many options? Really? They're laid out quite logically as well, and I'm pretty sure that anything less would have gotten more complaints seeing as it's 4 decks we're talking about.

Comment retracted...now that I see the preview KS page, the options looks pretty straight forward and very well thought out.

Now I just have to decide between branded and unbranded... That rare set is tempting because I don't have the original Ornates, but I don't think my wallet can take that much abuse at this point.

I have to have a brick of each and some uncuts, for certain! Nice stuff, looking better every day! Push that green button at noon, bro! (well, whatever time equals noon NYC time)

Nah, just wing it. Once you drop the flag (like in 2 seconds) drop in the replacement graphic for the add-on table that includes the brick "A" add-on, and you're basically done. Once you have passed muster (can't help but go to Navy root here) then you're done. It's a rare project indeed that gets flagged after it's started, much less funded or finished completely. Once you're funded I think you can have tiers that have 50 decks, I guess. Once you're funded I don't think they look much if at all. Just let 'er rip, Randy! You're good, promise. It's a dumb-@ call on their part, obviously they can't read (or interpret graphics), because in any book I've ever read a brick is a brick, that's 1 item.

Randy, that's an awfully low goal for a campaign with so many decks involved no ?

I think it would be popular enough for it not to matter too much - but you certainly see 1 deck projects with goals at $15k for a single USPCC run... in this case you'd be looking at a cool $60k target... (4 deck variations and 8 tuck variations). I guess you'd need to up that to account for 8 tucks. $65k?

Like BiggerDee, I'm also curious as to why the red deck is called Scarlet rather than Ruby for a complete theme? I'm sure this question has been asked many times before.

Excellent! Randy always listens to things that make sense! I foresee a great future in these decks, all 8, 9 or 10 of them.

Sorry guys, I meant to answer this question earlier but too many deadlines for my day job got in the way!
Back when we were brainstorming names for the original Ornates, we had Sapphire for the Blue and Ruby Red or Scarlet for the Red. The name Ruby didn't have enough letters to look good in the arch and matchup nicely with Sapphire. It needed to be 7 or 8 letters. Ruby Red looked alright but having a space or hyphen between the two words was throwing it off. I always sway towards what looks best, and Scarlet was definitely looking the best. It also didn't hurt that my parents have a horse named Scarlet!
The hard part for me was to keep Amethyst as the name for the purple Deck. My six year old daughter is named Violet. It was VERY tempting to name the purple Deck after her!
And yes, the $30,000 goal is a little low for four Decks and branded tucks. We thought people would balk at "huge corporation" HOPC asking for a goal of $56,000. That's why the first three Stretch Goals are enhancements to the Tuck Boxes. The USPCC quotes are definitely lower for the versions without inside Foil and Embossing.
Thanks, Randy

You're welcome, Randy, glad to be of help. Let me ask another question: On the back designs you've already had the gold filigree over green and blue backgrounds, and the white filigree over red and purple, what about changing things up since this white deck is a reversal of the other in some ways... What if the gold and white were the background and the colors were on the filigree? Have you tested that out to see how it looks? I think that reversal would really help to cement the idea that these decks are related but different.

I usually lean to unbranded decks but I like the weight at the top on the Bicycle version better on this one. Like the white versions better than the original as well. Nice looking Randy!

Thanks for the response, Randy, that sounds reasonable. Violet and Scarlet might have made a nice name pair too!
I think I will pledge for the Elite Eight since I can't decide between branded/unbranded. I might open up the unbranded decks and leave the Bicycle decks sealed for display one day. Or vice-versa, what do you guys think?

Don't forget to add the two coin pricing in your addon box graphic.

Here's a very quick and dirty sample of what I mean by swapping the back colors to differentiate from the older decks:

If it helps your decision any, I rarely see Scarlet or Sapphire decks come up on eBay (I didn't get any originally, so I'm having to buy them now to fill in my collection) and when the do, they commonly sell (not list, but actually sell for) $30-$40 a deck,a nd that's on the rare occasion that they do come up. In that context, the rare brick is a good deal. The Amethyst and Emerald are a little more widespread because once people saw how fantastic the design was, and how well the cards turned out, the A & E decks (decks 3 and 4 of the first Ornates) sold very well. Randy does a great job with his designs and as good as they look on the screen, they are so much better in person. If you can find a way to get that rare brick, do so. You'll be glad that you did! Hope this helps.

Ha, the Rare set disappeared in a heartbeat. Oh well, I think I will be happy with just the Elite Eight set. Thanks for the advice, though!

I backed a brick ASAP to make sure that I got an early bird, but I'm definitely going to add an uncut set later on, and probably more decks, and probably coins, and probably...
Maybe I'll just mail Randy my credit card and tell him to keep sending until they won't let him cahrge any more!!
All things considered though, it's a really cool feeling, even when you're on the spending a ton end, to be this excited about a project!

If we unlock the Obsidian decks, can we just add-on one set of unbranded decks to the Elite Eight to get a brick? Or should I be pledging for a brick first?

Hi, i think (im not sure yet) i might go and "back" this project. It will be my first time and even my first time buying smth without paypal and tru amazon?. So i need to make first acc on amazon with all my details right? And then after clicking back this projeck need to write the amount cost of deck + $ for shipping for int right? And why Unbranded box have smaller font?
