Its cards like these that make it easy for me to disregard the sketchy marketing shenanigans from E, T11, D$D, and BC. There are now enough high quality alternatives to the big magic companies so that I can satisfy my collecting itch without having to jump through stupid hoops and hurdles to get boring "rare" re-colorations or bogus "prototypes" or other gimmicks.

And either spending $200 on useless crap to get a "free" deck or hovering around your computer at a given time of a release hitting F5 on all 3 open browsers hoping to get a deck before they "sell out."

I agree with you 100%, sinjin.

@Jackson - I like the fact the KoH has a mustache. It was lost in the standard cards of today due to a smudge. Everything about this deck works. No rules are broken. It's a no brainer. It is going to be successful, but can I say this deck YOur deck is standard. To me it's like you used the new "The Cosmos" charters they made in the documentary. They look similar...

Agree 100% sprouts. Very "together" package. From what I've seen even the pips are going to be killer. Love the funky treatment on the olde Clubs symbol.

I wanna see what that tuck looking like. Once again it's hard to choose between two colors. I'm more of a blue guy.

I think it would be cool with a yellow/honey colored back, but that's just me :P

I personally thought of a green back as I have a preference for green decks, but we ended up with blue and red, which are a nice classical combination. And don't worry, this won't be a case of me being like DM having my own personal colour stock 'cause as much as I love the colour green, I wouldn't want to pay to have that many decks printed. I would rather have green in the bank instead of all that red from playing card collecting as it is :)

It's just the blue and red backs and the deck won't be reprinted again. If there's a "The Hive" V2, it'll be a completely new deck (courts, jokers, AoS, tuck, etc) with just the theme brought across it.

As for the tuckcase, we've got the uncut proofs in. They look nice and here they are, pulled from the Kings Wild Facebook page (and sadly, I don't have them yet ... :( )

It's definitely a red, but it's not a deep saturated red. It's a softer red that matches with the blue we used.

Wouldn't that make it more difficult to open the tuck and therefore wear it out much quicker?

The larger flaps do make it a bit more difficult to open the tuck, but on the flip side of the coin, they hold the deck much more securely. I've not had any experience with bigger or longer tongues on the flap causing the box to wear out any faster.

I would say smaller flaps are more flimsy and therefore more likely to get worn out quicker, although I've never done any experimental testing (sorry, I'm in research mode right now; everything is hearsay until proven in a study published in a peer-review journal :ugeek: ).

Probably a little, but ive never had any problems with wear even on decks thats several times older than me (i mean its not especially worn as compared to the rest of the tuck) Not the clearest image, but you can see the flap is in good shape.

And dont you find that it has that special little charm ?
