For those who aren't aware, there was a vote and these cards are now going to ship without cello and will be hand numbered on the tuck. It's a design decision, which I respect, but I really don't like displaying decks that aren't sealed and will probably not go for these now.

There's no point in numbering the cello, that gets torn off and thrown away. I think they made the right choice.

Couldn't they have numbered seals? It's been done before, on the Bicycle All Wheel No 2 (and yes, those had cello).

Or use the same method that LAnce T. Miller used for the Actuators series!

I posted the following as a comment to the KS Update regarding the poll:
This is really unfortunate. Numbering is all about rarity.

I love the look of the deck, but as a collector, having a sealed deck is so much more appealing than having a numbered deck when there are so many decks being produced. If this were numbered 1 to 1000, that's one thing. But the print run will be... what? At least 5000 just to handle the KS pledges plus more for the secondary market?

I'd rather have a sealed deck than have an unsealed "Deck 4377 of 6000".

Ideally, there would have been a limited number of perhaps 500 numbered decks plus the rest of them sealed. That way, you get the best of both worlds. Collectors would want both types rather than not wanting them at all.
Not yet sure what I'm going to do. My pledge is for 5 decks. May cancel or drop to one deck.

This is from a creator that released a second deck before this one came out, right on schedule. Can't wait to actually see the inside of the tuck.

Ratledge, did you receive an e-mail confirming a package was on it's way, or are you just anticipating that your order will be fulfilled soon? Like you, I pledged this one, but I haven't received confirmation that my order is on it's way yet. Thanks!

I'm in the same camp as Rousselle. Eagerly anticipating this deck, it was one of my favorite designs of the year. This one and Venexiana.

I got a note that my original pair of each was shipped, and a second set of 4 I ordered on the website was marked shipped two days later. I I'll have to check the PO in the morning, or Donna will. I'm working 10PM-8AM. Sounds like goodies are coming from several places!

I never receive an email before my decks come. I got this one today, I like how the cards have the aged look to them.

You have good taste Widdee ;) I also voted this as my deck of the year. Did you go for the Bicycle or unbranded tuck?

I actually bought these from the deadonpaper site since I did not have the money at the time of the KS, and I went with unbranded.

I got a brick of each, dazzleguts. That's a major buy for me but I'm kinda nuts about the Southwest and picked up a fetish for this genre of art after many vacations out there. Plus Chris' artistic style is incredible!

Anxiously awaiting the Oracle deck. I think the artwork on it is going to exceed Calaveras from what was shown in the KS campaign.

I wish I'd ordered the Calaveras dealer coin while it was still available. Didn't make that mistake with the Oracle coin.

(And if anybody has a spare Calaveras coin, I might have something worthwhile to trade.... :))

That's a style that appeals to me very much as well Widdee. I even have a José Guadalupe Posada lunch box which contains my little mobile relief printing kit. His prints are all over the outside of the box.

Would love to see him do a full custom Sugar Skulls deck, or something along that line of Southwest cult lore. I'm a big fan of the alternative group Calexico, are you familiar with them dazzleguts?

No, not familiar with Calexico but I'll give them a listen through utube next time I'm on. Thanks for the recommend.

Wonder what he'll do after the Oracle deck. Would be interesting to see a deck about the problems, and the positive movements for change in Mexico, but in this style.

So far both decks gave had mystical themes. I'm sure he's humping it getting Oracle out right now but Oracle came quickly on the heels of Calaveras so we might see something soon. This is one of those artists I can't imagine doing anything bad and he delivers like Rosco.

Managed to squeeze a little info out of Chris in regards to the new project he's working on:
Alchemy - and it's going to honestly be the biggest project I've done so far, two decks at least. I'm pretty excited about it - calling it "Splendor Solis". I'm now targeting a May 5th launch on KS and will tease it out in about a month with some of the art.
Sounds very interesting, continuing with the mystic side of life. Exciting to say the least!
