There'll be another deck released this friday. It was teased on IG. Looks like a multi colored deck, maybe a rainbow gilding or foil.
Yea it's as I worried, this will be like 10 decks end of day
I AM considering dropping my pledges entirely, I just can't take it anymore. This time, Alex Pandrea have really crossed the line. THERE ARE TOO MANY EDITIONS this time! Could he just wait for next year?

Riffle Shuffle is the main one running this KS I believe. Alex is busy celebrating his birthday , wedding and honeymoon atm. Looks like he got caught up with all the celebration and really went wild here.

PSA to all: Anything that has Riffle Shuffle name on it, as well as a collaborator... expect so many editions
Case in point: is this NOC Luxury v2

The longer I collect, the less I understand the "too many versions" complaint.
Don't get me wrong, I as well think there're too many versions of certain decks because, you literally see that there is kinda no real thought behind them and they're just out there for the sake of being out there. But people enjoy different colours so at the end of the day it's cool that fontaines, NOC and others come in almost every colour out there.
E.g. Devil is in the Detail. I don't mind gold and silver but I'm a sucker for rosegold. So of course I personally just need that one and could say, "Muuuh, too many versions!" but why should people that enjoy black/gold or black/silver more, don't have that option?
The only problem for me is if I'm forced to buy versions I don't like just to get one that I like, but maybe this is why I don't pay close attention to TGW, Riffle Shuffle or other brands with similar campaign strategies.

As a reformed completionist myself, it's because a certain number of collectors like to get all editions/variations of the decks they buy. So too many versions, particularly uninspired ones, makes them feel like they "have to" get all of them.
I got out of this mindset when I realized how expensive and impractical it is, but it absolutely makes sense for a collector to want to "complete" certain collections. I also have no doubt that most deck producers know this, and some tries to cash in on it.

100% agree with Harvonsgard's statement.
Thank goodness I'm not a completist. Each collector has their own guidelines with what and what not to get.
The Rose Quartz deck will be available tomorrow. They could've made the tuck pink instead of gray with a pink seal.

It is indeed very lilberating once you lose the completionist part of collecting. I just collect what I like if it's at a price that makes sense to me and that's it these days.

That's my main problem here, I'm forced to buy other decks just because I want to complete the first set (which I actually liked unlike these) with the holo one
And I get the idea that "just because they have that many doesn't mean you need to get them all" but I just don't get the mindset when putting these up where they're like "OK we need 10+ versions in this campaign"

The print runs on these are quite large, I presume there is a fair amount of speculative buying, and recent 'sold' prices I have noticed on eBay (KWP, Fontaine, etc) makes me think the secondary market is cooling. Probably in large part due to so many projects and variants coming out for a relatively small audience. I think card deck output may be outpacing market growth. Net, I would not be surprised if many of the Luxury NOCs will be available on the secondary market at a price that is not much more than KS prices.

you guys are going to love this!
The final stretch goal tomorrow will be two decks. One of the decks maybe the aquamarine gilded and the other deck maybe the rose quartz deck also gilded. So I guess they make this 11 decks?
Edit: above laitostarr777 beat me to the punch about the decks.

They used the word "surprise", but I don't think that word means what they think it means.

The Rose Quartz deck looks like it has prism gilding.

I was just reading this thread as I don't collect NOC's other than a few that I happen to have picked up. However, the general discussion regarding being reformed completionists (MagikFingerz) is something near and dear to my heart. I am in the same place. Many collectors struggle with being completionists, and I am no exception. It can be especially tough for folks that have focused collections. They can be almost driven to unreal levels to get that one elusive deck, like Lorenzo's ENT deck, Lotrek's Inverted Icons, or Gio's Delirium Signature deck. I could go on, but you get the idea. In the end, it really is a fool's errand and we as collectors have only ourselves to blame. We need to look at what motivates us and wrong about our collecting.
I honestly like comments Lotrek states over and over about collector's being silly and going crazy over rarity instead of content. Collect what you like, not what is rare. I think that is a wise perspective. As I mature in collecting (and amass way too many decks to properly store, much less display), I too have pulled back more and more from my completionist roots. It definitely is making me a happier collector. Freeing myself from whale decks was a first start.
There are some really awesome decks that I love and should collect. There are some really creative and fun stuff that I want to add as well. However, there are a lot of so-so decks I really don't need, and a lot of limited decks that add essentially nothing for me other than being "rare". I need to resist those. I have a fairly good handle on passing what I just don't like. I just need to start passing more on so-so decks and "rare" things that don't add much or anything from a creative perspective.
Anyway, that is my confession as a playing card addict.

Hey, Alex gotta pay for his wedding and honeymoon, man. Overseas trips aren't cheap!
As I stated in the P52 2021 deck thread, so glad that Alex and S17 are showing others another way to do it. Where you don't have to take advantage of collectors' FOMO/shiney magpie/completionist tendencies. You appreciate their support by giving them a free upgrade.
Man, thinking about it, they could have thrown in a free random uncut tuck for everyone who backed 3 or more. 1 free random card for the rest.

maybe relative to crazy campaigns like this one and others but Odd Fellows is still 4 decks which used to be a rarity. at least they are 4 different decks (except courts) and not 11 colors of the same shit ''design''. at $278k, that is why they do it. they found their sucker group of loyal rectanglists who apparently will buy them all no matter the ridiculousness.

I'm really not too much of a fan of prism gilding. It looks nice but once the cards are out of order, the gilding doesn't look that good. The rose quartz holo back with prism gild looks off to me.
Before sunday I'll do some adjusting to my pledge. My selectiveness done kicked in.

If you were only to choose one between NOC Holo Gilded and NOC Rose Quartz Gilded - which would you choose?
That Prism Gilding is tempting, and yeah, like ya said, once a few cards are out of order, and the beauty is gone

I'll choose the holo gilded. The normal one is good enough for me.

Had most of these decks on my pledge and was planning on just reselling them except for the holo because that was the only one I really wanted, but decided today to just save myself like $200 and downgrade to the minimum I needed to get holo. Felt good, 11 decks is ridiculous

If anyone is looking for gilded decks for this one, I just cancelled my pledge. While I like the decks/colors, there's too many variants and I kinda stopped caring. I also don't have time to chase multiple limited drops on KS campaigns, and Riffle Shuffle seems to be making this the norm. Can't wait for the 67 variants coming in NOC Luxury v3...
