The "dirty" look is great because it gives the cards an antique/vintage look and it goes good with the tuck box and back of cards.

I like the 'aged' look a bit better personally, although either way the cards look great.

Well, I think that nothing would be more fake than "all same" aged backgrounds!
Then at least it would have a genuine aged look. And it seems like the majority likes the aged background, so you should probably go with that

Maybe I can do the aged look a bit more subtle. I'll print both versions and see what looks better. It's true that my deck will probably appeal to people for its artwork rather than its functionality in tricks.
Meanwhile, here are two figure cards.

The aged look is AWESOME! The only thing aboit this deck that I don't like is the box... but it's definatly not enough to keep me from purchasing it!

The aging effect is actually pretty subtle compared to other aged decks, so the impact on fans would probably be minimal. There's no way of knowing until they get printed of course, but I think my comment was a bit hasty
This is a definite buy for me anyway.

I'm surprised because I love the tuck box.

I love the colors of tuck box too, reminds me of the Asylum deck (smh). Besides that, there's no box that looks like it.

Thanks Tom!
I made various printings to compare the two options. Clean look was okay, but definitely asking for the centuries to pass!
So, I'm leaning towards keeping aged look.

I'm surprised too! The box is something I no way intend to touch!

It seems like you don't need to readjust anything.

The only thing I'm readjusting is the back. Thinner borders and a bit more shading. I'll post a pic soon, hopefully today.

The right one for sure ! The contrast makes it better imo, and i think you can still stretch the borders a little thinner =)

I like the left one, too much contrast doesn't work with the aged look. Plus, the lions look a lot better on the left one.
But yes, slightly thinner borders shouldn't be a problem

Since the faces of the cards look good with an aged look, would white/"clean" borders on the back of the cards ruin the consistency?
Either one is fine but the right looks better because the design stands out more.

I'm leaning towards this one. I hope it keeps everyone happy!
I believe clean background on the back would ruin the whole concept.

Is that final one the darkest back with the ages layer too? I really like it, either way. It strikes the perfect amount of artificial ageing.
Good choice!

I like the subtle corner embellishments on the back design. A very classy deck overall, which is why I think the front of the tuck box looks too cartoon-y in comparison to the elegant backs, Ace of Spades (which I love!), custom pips, and court cards.

Hi alric,
Maybe you say that because of the mask's nose. I understand that, but I wanted to include a playful touch in the deck, as it is part of Venice's atmosphere. Some love it, some don't. As the project will be on air, I'll be making updates releasing new cards and taking into consideration comments, as far as they are in accordance with my vision.
Thank you!

Hello cardists,
"Venexiana" is on air:
https://jumpstartcity.com/events/bicycle-venexiana" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This site functions in a different way than KS, so It's worth taking a look at this video
https://jumpstartcity.com/aboutcity.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
At this point I need the help of all of you who like this deck. You can subscribe and vote for my project to help it move to the "promotion" stage,
where I'll be having regular updates with new pictures of the cards, new rewards etc.
Even if you don't intend to back this project you can just vote for it, it's free
I hope to see you there.
Thanks for your support.
