Actually secretly hoping that this one would be a different stock than Cartamundi, not that Cartamundi is not good, but to change the handles up for even just one of the decks in this series (a LTD version done solely by Lotrek?) would be awesome!

I second that. I was going to add that it would be great if there are multiple versions foiled decks. Maybe one with Cartamundi/EPCC or something, and a “signature version” with Lotrek :)

Come on, this is Lotrek we' re talking about here. You just know there's going to be a Silver or Crimson foiled edition as a stretch goal coming up. :D

TheGentlemanWake wrote: Fri Sep 18, 2020 6:50 pm I have a philosophy with the TGW decks. I want them to be playable and classic in feel. Of course we will have more eye-catching versions--but aim of the standard decks is not to be the center-point. The beauty of the design must be subtle and there for those who take the time to look into them. But when they are sitting on a gaming table or a magician's close-up pad they should feel inconspicuous despite the deep beauty.
I totally get that and agree it should be the case. I'm not looking to be dazzled, but I do think there is a difference between "subtlety" and "underwhelming." I've had a distinctly ambivalent reaction to the card back until I saw the gold foil, which made me go: "Now the back design looks elegant to me. Why is that?" Anyhoo, just my zwei pfennig input...

You should remind Cartamundi about all the free publicity you have been doing for them for years for free as a giant social media influencer. Heck, they should do this print job for free as payment for all the promotional work you are doing for them.

Maybe agree to let them fly you to their Belgium factory so you can do a video showcasing Cartamundi printing that you will produce and post on your YouTube channel? I mean that is the least they can do for a YouTube influencer.

Why be an opener? WHY be a tuck fetishist? WHY NOT BE BOTH.

I'll take 2 thank you very much.

I was going to make some snide comment about affording two yachts and putting one on display in my garden, but I gave up trying to make it funny...

Does Cartamundi have anything besides their B9 Slimline, by the way?

For their top of the line cards, currently not. Rumor has it that they're working on a new finish that'll be like the old C9 but yah... rumors.
I mean, Cartamundi needs more than a couple of months to ship out 30 decks to giveaway winners, so who knows how long they'll take to develope a new finish/varnish-stock-combo?

Whoever ends up being the chosen printer for the job it's going to be a solid deck. These fellas won't be selecting some weird nonsense that's sticky and won't play, etc. It's going to be top quality. This design reminds me of the older designs of Lotrek and I enjoy those designs quite a bit. Not everything needs sparkle shimmer shine in my opinion and I think it's nice for designs to stand on their own without being bedazzled. I think this card back does that. Sure it'll look good in foil, most things do.

I'm mostly concerned about the indices. :P

Sounds like something we could speculate on in a general thread with some perhaps fun bets made. ;)

Pigcake. Who else could it be lurking around outside the frame?

Pigcake doesn't give flowers to women though, he embraces his virginity.

Seeing the courts, like expected, I'm out. Too close to a lot of already released Lotrék courts.

I definitely want to see the rest before making a decision either way, but I really hope that the remaining court cards don't involve disembodied floating limbs or pigcake.

Besides his name already mentioned, you can tell Lotrek is involved by the spade pip/indice.

Oh, I really hope Lotrek will do with the courts what he did with Venexiana Dark where the courts interact with each other! That was so cool! :ugdance:
