Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
I love infinity mirrors, and the execution behind all of this (though the courts are a little disappointing), but I'm already wiped out for this year and was not expecting this absolute barrage of decks late in the year. Looking forward to hopefully seeing a lot of creative photos taken with these ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
Ehm, yah. In Alex' first post! There is a picture of the Queen. 12 pips instead of a court figure (to pay respect/reference the muslim restraint of not depicting Allah's creation). That's what I was referring to when I wrote I would have wished instead of changing the courts for their representative amount of pips, he should have gone with a arabic style calligraphy of e.g. "Queen of Spades" or maybe even the arabic translation.Decknowledgy wrote:Courts? Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
Alex - these look spectacular. Are you going to be offering smaller sets beyond the full 6 deck set (as was the case last year when one was able to buy two- and three-deck sets)? I would much rather keep the full set intact but would want to open and look at one or two decks.

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
I first thought that couldn't be right, but then I checked other pictures from those who have them and it does indeed look like they have seals. If the entire point of these is to open the gates it wouldn't make much sense for that though? On the other hand tuckists sure do love seals and they are the seeming majority so maybe they are there to keep them happyMagic Tapp wrote:but would want to open and look at one or two decks.

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
Well - I am not a tuckist, far from it but I am a completist and it would pain me to unseal only one or two decks from the series. I am also not looking to buy two complete sets (not with Black Friday looming on the horizon) so this is some sort of a happy medium.Adonael wrote:I first thought that couldn't be right, but then I checked other pictures from those who have them and it does indeed look like they have seals. Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
Yeah so the entire series is made so that it's fun with 1, 2, or 3 decks as well. If you just want a design to open and look at, buy 1 deck. If you want the appearing room effect you can buy the second deck singularly or with the standard deck to have the comparison of locked and unlocked through the keyhole. Then of course if you get 3 you can do the infinity mirror effect.Magic Tapp wrote:Alex - these look spectacular. So the whole thing is the sticker is supposed to be a rug. It's the actual design that runs through and repeats in the hallway of the palace when you're looking through. You can also turn the deck upside down as well and the same rug design will be on the bottom so you can change up the colors of the design. You can remove the rug/seal with minimal difficulty since it's a thicker stock. I did actually think of this lol. However you would technically need to open the cellophane. I think everyone has a preference on these things. I can't solve the cellophane problem lol.Adonael wrote: I first thought that couldn't be right, but then I checked other pictures from those who have them and it does indeed look like they have seals. Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
That's good to hear! I was actually wondering if that had been accounted for in some way, given the complexity of it all it's hard to tell. Not removing the ugly cellophane which negates any aesthetic value a displayed deck may have otherwise had is a problem only for the strangest of weirdos who don't like having nice looking or feeling decksIAmTheChin wrote:You can remove the rug/seal with minimal difficulty since it's a thicker stock. Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
If someone can help me in understanding. I checked nationalcardcollectionday.com and i can't find any "sign in" or "log in" option. Do i need to sign up someway (how???) to try to buy the decks tonight? Or will i be able to shop just directly entering the site? i don't see any "cart" option as well. How can i register on site in advance to record my personal and address information?

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
The kings arch is available for single purchase correct? It is only the 7th deck that you have to get the full set? The kings arch would be the one I like most due to it being, or at least looking in the picture, orange. Does that come with the circle tile pattern or the other?

I'm not clear on which back designs are what. From the initial pictures, what's the "green design" and what's the "circle design"? If one buy's the Palace pack, are they all the same back design?

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
I'm sure Alex will chime in before the launch. His NPCCD releases are always very confusing (to me at least) so I usually just go to the page and scroll down until I find a price I deem suitable and buy whatever amount of decks is at that range.marman wrote:Someone could help?marman wrote:If someone can help me in understanding. As I remember from last year, you don't need to register, just check out directly from the site with your credit card info.marman wrote:Someone could help?marman wrote:If someone can help me in understanding. So on https://nationalcardcollectionday.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; there is a "Shop Now" button on the home page. Right now, it takes you to last year's decks but I reckon at midnight tonight, it'll switch to this year's decks and that's where you can buy them.

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
This is a rudimentary picture that I just whipped up but it'll help clarify things. I'm hoping to make it look nice for the website by tonight.
![Image](https://i.ibb.co/dcmmjcx/Packing-Key.jpg)
So basically I didn't have enough pictures of the arches shown but the interior arch dictates the design. Lagoon, Copper, and then Black/White for the palace gates.
You get (1) Standard deck, (1) Tile Back deck, and (1) Tile Face deck.
If you want to expand out your palace, great! But if you don't need everything, the Palace Pack is a nice well rounded collection that still gets every effect included.
The selection will be like the years before in that you won't be able to specifically choose which color you get but you will be able to choose the type of deck (tiled or not tiled) or like last year (gilded or not gilded). I'll make sure to the best of my abilities that each order includes a different deck and that they will be the same numbers whenever possible.

That deck is only available in the pack of 6. There are 250 of them versus the rest which are 499. I based it off of last year's online sales where I sold about 150 full sets and the rest were in pairs. I wanted to make something special for those that got the full 6 so that's why I added gilding as well to it on top of the tiling effect. Doubling down on the gilding and the tiling also made it ridiculously expensive and so having to pay out of pocket for this entire project up front rather than a Kickstarter did make me want to reduce that deck down a bit to keep costs manageable as well.STLBluesNut wrote:The kings arch is available for single purchase correct?

Well, the picture makes everything much more clear! Thank you for that.
So when I purchase, I cannot specifically chose club room? I can only choose tiled and ungilded and have a 1 in 3 chance at getting the one I like?
If that is the case, I'm not sure I am down for the whole mystery deck thing.

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
When we get the Palace Pack, will we be guaranteed to get the 3 different backs? Or is there a possibility, for instance, of getting a Spade Gate and Spade Room in the set? My preference would be Spade Gate, Club Room, and Palace Arch in the pack set.

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
Sorry for all the terminology. Usually I have more time to test out which terms work best for people and update the Kickstarter accordingly. Yes you're absolutely correct. But on the face there is no tile so I wasn't sure how to label it lol.MagikFingerz wrote:Thanks, Alex! One last question: Is "tiled" the same as "raised face texture"?
Yes I will be setting the SKU and ensuring that distribution for Palace Packs gets one of each.PrincessTrouble wrote:When we get the Palace Pack, will we be guaranteed to get the 3 different backs?
So the mystery style isn't necessarily for fun but more utilitarian in ensuring that distribution can be flexible for those that get palace packs. If for some reason one design ends up getting chosen more than another design even if some people don't particularly care which design they get, it affects the ability to give the variety to the palace packs for those that do.STLBluesNut wrote:Well, the picture makes everything much more clear! If you were specifically looking for a tiled club room you would technically have a 1 in 2 chance of getting it. The 3rd design is only available in the palace arches.
If you were just looking to get a club deck in general, getting a pair would ensure you got the design you wanted. One of them would be tiled and one would not. Hope this clarifies why distribution is set up this way. By being "mystery" it allows me to be more flexible in helping pairs and 3 packs get variety.

Does the Palace Arch deck have the mirrored tuck box?
All I really want is a single deck with the raised tile backs and the "magic mirror" effect on the tuck.

So, i'm still confused. What do i have to do to buy the complete 6 decks set shown in the picture???
Will there be a dedicated tier for all 6 versions set? Or will i have to shop 2 times the 3 decks option, hoping to get all 6 decks? And wich is the way to get the bonus seventh deck someone mentioned before?
Alex if you could please specify the shop structure and options (1 deck of choice? 1 random deck? Random pair? Set of 3? Random 3? Random 6? One of each 6 dedcks set?

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
From what I understand, the Secret Kingdom will be the tier to purchase the 6-deck set. The Palace Pack tier will be a random mix of the three deck levels: Standard, Tiled Back, Tiled Face. Not sure where the seventh deck fits in yet.
"But why male models?"

Re: 2019 NPCCD Palace Edition
Yeah it's the same exact tier structure as last year (just replace gilding with tile). You can get:marman wrote: Will there be a dedicated tier for all 6 versions set? Or will i have to shop 2 times the 3 decks option, hoping to get all 6 decks? And wich is the way to get the bonus seventh deck someone mentioned before?
SINGLE DECK: You can specify if you want a tiled or non-tiled room.
PAIR (2-Decks): Includes 1 tiled back + 1 non-tiled deck with magic room.
PALACE PACK (3-Decks): Includes all 3 back designs. 1 non-tiled + 1 tiled back + 1 tiled front + magic room + corridor effect.
KINGDOM (6-Decks): Includes 2 non-tiled + 2 tiled backs + 2 tiled fronts + magic room + corridor effect + the only tier you get King's Arch with the gold gilding.
The seventh deck was just a convention joke deck that ended up being the freebie for this year. Previous years it was special NPCCD boxes or cases that came with. This year I didn't know how to make a box and made this extra deck instead. I'll occasionally bring a few NPCCD leftovers every year to the convention. I know Spectre picked up a few 2017s he was missing and some others picked up a couple 2016s. It felt weird listing it online when it was free for convention goers so I just dropped it to avoid any confusion. I think people in general have been okay with "you go to convention, you get this" rather than, "here's 10 decks, fight for it" kind of thing. Would rather have things smooth and easy than try to sell a few extra decks.

Thank you very much for the informations Alex! Now it makes sense to me.IAmTheChin wrote:Yeah it's the same exact tier structure as last year (just replace gilding with tile).
I will be trying to get a KINGDOM tonight, hoping i will be fast enough
