Recently SoCal's Clearance section has been changing daily, with lots of decks popping up with just 1 or 2 in stock and then selling out the same day -- it's worth checking from time to time :D

Socal have 15% off until the weekend and this newb is about to place his first order
Do you 'old timers' (says the 68yo) pay the Navidium Shipping Protection? I know it isn't much but wondered whether it is really necessary.
Mind you being an international buyer it may be of greater use to me - assuming it covers international

I always pay for shipping protection - if its offered and you don’t take it and anything goes wrong, you are out of luck

Henry has one of the best packaging of any playing card retailer. With that said, never hurts to use protection.

Brownsl post about Oath Standards being on special led me to TripOnMagic

https://triponmagic.com/collections/daily-deals

They have some serious daily specials.
If you have not bought from them sign up and get an extra 20% off first time
Spend a little and get free postage

After the 20% extra, I ended up get Copper gilded Four Continents reproductions for $25 Australian - that is a ridiculously cheap $16US

Thanks Brownsl

Penguin have introduced POWER CARDS (discount cards) promotions that you can either buy or get free with a $75 order
There was one called Ethereal Fountain available last week (now over) that gets you $1 off any of their own P3 products (until 2026!)

The one available for this week Quantum Power seems even better and gets you 5% off all decks that have 'Playing Cards' in PM's descriptive title for them. It is most of the decks they offer (But not all of them) and once again it is valid until 2026
If you have a $75 order sitting in your cart it might be a good week to take it to Checkout to get this discount card for free
Alternatively you can buy this Power (discount) card for $20 (for just this week). If you are sure to spend more than $400 with PM over the next 19 months it is probably worth your while (But getting it for free seems a no brainer)

https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/19972

Please read it thoroughly for yourself (and let me know if I have read it incorrectly)

Fun campaign, but I wish they would just fix their website instead

Their 'Celestial Sand Timer' power card promotion for this week is TOO cute IMO
Owners of this virtual Power Card will get 5% off ALL new releases starting THE MOMENT they appear on the website, minus 0.001% each minute after. Basically, over the course of about 3.5 days (5,000 minutes), the discount goes from 5% slowly down to zero.
I can see it costing them a lot in 'free' postage as people are not going to leave things in their cart (to make it worthwhile placing an order) as they won't get close to the full 5% if they don't place their order for a New deck on the day of its release

Definitely too cute for Aussies who are being disadvantaged by the time zone (most postings are likely to be 2am ish here)
It is only a bonus I suppose but for someone who pays for the card in Australia (an option) they are being ripped off unless they don't sleep normal hours but if they do, they are paying for a 5% discount card that is probably at best only ever going to give you a 4.5% when you get up for breakfast

It is a very small point but there is cute and too cute

Their latest Power Card is for books only - I am thinking that their first two Power Card offers may prove to be the best ones

The first two definitely looking the strongest
The latest deal offers you 1% off - I wouldn't get out of bed for 1%
You can get it for free for spending $75 but if you were to buy it for $20 (the price)
You would have to spend $2,000 (in the next 18mths) before you got your $20 back

Once again another 1% power card - at least they accumulate but the whole power cards scheme has run out of puff. The old days of offering free decks is now looking a lot more attractive.
You certainly cannot imagine anyone paying $20 for one and then needing to spend $2,000+ to get a return on their money

Not to sound like a broken record, but it looks like AI art on that card.

And, you never know! Sometimes these marketing tactics are designed as a way to get you to impulsively buy based on emotions without thinking logically into it too much. The number of people who bought that card is probably non-zero.

It may not mean much for deck-ists, but for magicians it gets to be a big deal - the nicer stuff is big bucks

$10 off a $1,000 order would be an insult (unless you already had some earlier power card) but that is all this card contributes

I admit I bought the 5% off one, but without the free shipping and without better power cards to stack on top I'm not sure it will have been worth it.

Yes, I put in orders big enough to score the first two - the 5% and the $1 off their own products. They were the ones to get

Penguin has a new 'Ephemeral Money Tree' Power Card promotion but I am afraid it is flawed/tricky
At first it seems good that you are getting a gift card to the value of 5% of your purchases
But the card expires in 2 weeks!
What is Ephemeral Penguin Cash?

It's a gift certificate, just like a normal one, except it's very unstable. It has a shelf life of 2 weeks before its particles are torn apart and it's destroyed.
So to get any value from it you need to put in a $100 order (free shipping and 5% gift card) and then put in another $100 order WITHIN 2 weeks - anything less than $100 and your $5 card just pays for shipping
and if you did this double $100 order you would get another $5 card but would have to put in another order within two weeks .........

This power card should be called the Never Ending Story card
