Hey, if David Spade's character from The Emperor's New Groove can be a Disney princess, so can 2pc.RichK wrote:You're a woman?TwoPiece wrote:Oh crap...macstrat wrote:TwoPiece wrote:People call me The Animal Whisperer because even little random bastard squirrels love me.
Lol no. The comparison to Snow White is emasculating, though.RichK wrote:You're a woman?TwoPiece wrote:Oh crap...macstrat wrote:TwoPiece wrote:People call me The Animal Whisperer because even little random bastard squirrels love me.
Wow, you treat animals the same way as you do with people around here.TwoPiece wrote:I love a well-behaved dog that doesn't jump all over me and lick me without my permission...

People/artist need to have your permission to release a deck here biased solely on your perception if it's good or not in your eyes. Wow, it carries over in your personal life too..
Whew, luck Lotrek makes decks for everyone to enjoy!!
Fetus, since you know so much about the wards, I thought this deck would be fitting for you, minus the cats of course.TwoPiece wrote:Someone escaped the asylum...Cardians wrote:Wow, you treat animals the same way as you do with people around here.TwoPiece wrote:I love a well-behaved dog that doesn't jump all over me and lick me without my permission...

The blue Damask is where it's at, it's gorgeous, makes me think it should have been blue all along, not even sure I'll hang onto the red one unless I hit it big and try in vain to acquire a complete Lotrek collection. Surprised you're holding onto the Golden oath considering it's so similar to Damask. It's interesting for it's technical significance, but probably my least favourite of all Lotrek's decks. Sanctus and Arabesque are my top two, Arabesque being an undeniable masterpiece of which I've never seen the like. Oh what I would do for a silver.TwoPiece wrote:I still own some Venexiana Gold and Golden Oath decks.
I got turned off by Arabesque due to the 2nd Edition deck. I still may pick a couple of those up at some point. They're really, really nice.
Damask sucks, though, IMO. Much disappoint.

You made the statement "People/artist need to have your permission to release a deck here biased solely on your perception if it's good or not in your eyes. Wow, it carries over in your personal life too.. "
TwoPiece neither asked nor demanded that people need to have his permission to release a deck. If you read this thread, which Lotrek started, he (Lotrek) stated "In an effort to talk TwoPiece into buying one of my decks, we're releasing "SILK" this January. More details coming soon".
So we are clear, TwoPiece wasn't asking or demanding that Lotrek do ANYTHING. This conversation started with Lotrek trying to interest someone I think Lotrek considers a friend in a new deck to which all we know is the word "Silk". The rest has basically been friendly banter until you decided to rather rudely enter the discussion. TwoPiece hasn't said anything to you here that warrants you coming at him like you have. So, excuse me for being confused by your initial comments here, but it seems to me you have not read this thread and only read parts of it and chose to interpret them way out of context of this thread.
Golden Oath and Damask are certainly similar - taking a "standard" design and using manufacturing to set them apart from truly standard decks. I just love some Golden Oath. To each their own!Adonael wrote:The blue Damask is where it's at, it's gorgeous, makes me think it should have been blue all along, not even sure I'll hang onto the red one unless I hit it big and try in vain to acquire a complete Lotrek collection. I really think Lotrek could do a big cat deck justice, in a completely dignified way. Using the same printing/ink as the Arabesque to give it that enamel look like it's taken right off an ancient screen or wall, oh boy. Sign me up to the list waiting for a cat deck!
This is obvious and really shouldn't need pointing out or any explanation.Lotrek wrote:Apart from enjoying the fervent conversation that aroused from just one logo, let me make this clear:
The statement "in an effort to talk TwoPiece into buying" was obviously a joke. I like jokes and sometimes they can be misunderstood. I've been working on this deck for a long time.
Besides, trying to talk TwoPiece into anything is hopeless. That's why he likes cats.
now that you mention it, it's kinda true though...TwoPiece wrote:What are you trying to say!? Only hopeless people like cats!? How dare you...
What? Those creatures will just as fast to scratch you and enjoy your suffering while being adorable about it. You do know that cats rub themselves on you only because that's how they mark their territory? Nothing to do whatsoever with adoration, just plain possessiveness. "You're mine and don't you forget it!" Don't forget they are only a few generations removed from the big cats in the jungle. (No, my being allergic to cats have nothing to do anything) You don't own cats. Cats own you.PipChick wrote:now that you mention it, it's kinda true though...TwoPiece wrote:What are you trying to say!? Only hopeless people like cats!? How dare you...
Cats are the only thing in this world that gives me wholehearted & unequivocal hope as their adorableness dulls the constant pain of existence and gives me, as pathetic as it is, a reason to live...
THIS. I do all of this. Everything you just described is me. I am a cat.Eric Lee wrote:What? Those creatures will just as fast to scratch you and enjoy your suffering while being adorable about it. Dogs will give you unconditional love and are always happy to see you, no matter what. They are always in the mood for belly rubs. If they bite or hurt you, at least they will show they are sorry, not like cats. You'll never hear of guard cats, watch cats, rescue cats, Cat police and military units, that's for sure!
Still, cats are cleaner and easier to keep in an apt than dogs, that is certain.

Ah, that's because you're the Alpha cat. You know how to put them in their places. Either that or you're really a cat whisperer.TwoPiece wrote:I'm the only person I've ever known who isn't owned by his/her cat(s). My mom basically worships hers. My brother and sister-in-law are owned by theirs. My grandmothers both worship theirs.
I tell them to discipline those little m-f-ers but they don't listen. Grab them by the scruff! Bop them on the nose! Choke 'em! Taze 'em!
Mjölnir is actually a cat-dog. A well-behaved little creature that will eat literally anything, drinks beer/wine, obeys and is a best friend (to me - she doesn't give a single f^&* about other humans).

hey man, if I'm already dead, I have absolutely no problem with the cats eating my face (or any part of me for that matter) to survive - actually, I hope they do; then we will finally be one... lmaomacstrat wrote:"What happened to Aunt PipChick?"
well, for your information, I'm a millennial with very little people skills and an intense anxiety for the intricacies involved in maintaining basic human relations, so naturally, my language has evolved and adapted to various combinations of SMS, memes, gifs and emojis to be my primary form of expressed communication... I know no other way...Eric Lee wrote:Amy, I have to wonder just where you go to get all those cool gifs and memes! Do you have them bookmarked?

Both the Ancient Silk Road and the more recent one did have everything to do with the Opium trade, though. Also, it would be incredibly thematic to do an opium-high inspired fusion of Islamic and far-eastern art styles.I'm hoping (guessing?) that it's a reference to the Silk Road. If that is the case, I'd go further and guess it's a reference to the old route between east and west rather than a reference to the old dark web.
I'm a huge fan of Islamic art, so Lotrek's recent exploration of that space have been doubly enjoyed. I also have some beautiful Chinese themed decks which are among my favourites, so some well-executed melding of Mediterranean, Islamic and Oriental would be beyond-automatic for me.
I think what troubles me most about this is how well you've color-matched the blue Damask. Just how much time and effort did you dedicate to scouring Google image search results for just the right shade of blue banana hammock...?badpete69 wrote:I thought the silk deck referred to Lotrek's secret silk underwear

Considering the last 2 themes were Arabesque and the other was Damask, it could go another way of silk pattern designs. I love how he did the Islamic art style and would jump at an Oriental style deck, but it does look like it'll be a Silk pattern style.ICantShuffle wrote:Both the Ancient Silk Road and the more recent one did have everything to do with the Opium trade, though.
