I know decks have been delivered at this point (at least I received my deck and know some others have as well). What surprises me is how I have not seen even one show up one ebay yet. These might be a tough get and even tougher at the original price.

Finally got the deck I had bought from Sherman. And holy shit, this is my favorite Uusi deck in my collection.

One just sold on Ebay for $51.75 that I missed bidding on. Seems like a very good price.

Dang! I would have paid $52 in a heartbeat. They cost $45 originally. I haven't seen any up for sale, except one by Dentyne. There were only 250 released besides those for the Casino.

Romeril ,

Yeah, a TGW and Uusi collaboration would be awesome. Anything to get them back into playing cards.

I guess they can be commissioned as they have just done that recently, so I hope that can happen in the future. I hope you give it a try The Gentleman Wake.

UUSI is releasing a revamped Pagan version (new tuck for now, cards are the same I guess) and they work on their Terra Matter cards. What lead you to the assumption they stopped doing cards? Or were you more referring to a completly new poker sized deck from them?

For the part with the collaboration... I can't really think of something TGW would have to add for UUSI.

At this point of time, anything to get UUSI back to producing playing cards, as Brad said. So if TGW gets them to produce another deck for under $25, I believe the playing card collecting world will be grateful for that. So many new addi... collectors have recently joined the hobby that they've probably not heard of Uusi . (last deck was Classic in 2015)

My question was more what TGW would have to add artistically.

Uusi originally stated that they were only going to produce six decks of Playing Cards, which are listed below with their relevant KS project dates. Please note that the Blue Blood Redux (Aug 2013) was a reprint of Blue Blood with a new tuck, due to the high demand for the first deck, but isn't considered a new deck. Pagan was also redone a couple times in different colors, but aren't considered new decks.

Blue Blood (Mar 2012)
Bohemia (Oct 2012)
Royal Optik (May 2013)
Pagan (Nov 2013)
Hotcakes (Apr 2014)
Classic (Nov 2014)

The following decks were done after 2014, but were not done mainly for printing a poker deck or they were commissioned to do a deck:

Brut (Apr 2015) - The original concept for Brut was for it to be a Tarot deck and the Poker deck was more of add on to the Tarot deck
Hyde Park - This was a deck that was commissioned by Hyde Park Moldings
Junkanoo - This deck was commissioned by Baha Mar Casino in the Bahamas to pay homage to the annual Bahama Junkanoo Folk Festival

Well, IMHO, Parlour surprised many of us. For TGW being a card fan, it would be interesting to see what he can add artistically with UUSI. After all, look what Uusi did with Hyde Park and Junkanoo commissions. :)

There must be something more to the Uusi decks in person because images of them just don't appeal to me. So far Uusi seems to be one of the "Fontaines" of card collecting. Not that great but everyone has to have them because they are Uusi.

To each their own I guess. I think the online images show off their talent well enough. I don’t buy them simply because they are designed by Uusi, and there are a few of their decks that don’t inspire me much. Most though are really beautiful.

Wow... Since I know your opinion about fontaines, it is kind of hard that you name UUSI in the same sentence. All of the card templates are hand drawn. Sure art is always subjective, different styles appeal to different people, but from a craft perspective I have to quote Pulp Fiction here: "They're not in the same stadium. They're not in the same league - Hell, they aren't even the same sport!"

Sure there're always these kind of collectors that will buy decks just because they are sought after by other collectors, but you could make that statement about every more known card designer/artist out there.

Lol, I suppose I could have used a different name than fontaines. I was certainly not putting them down on the fontaines level design wise. It is just a popular name that most here recognize and I think would associate with a lackluster design that still sells out at stupid prices due to brand name.

My point was more that there are so many that rave about them but I personally don't think the overall design and art on the cards is all that great and my perception is that it seems that some buy them because they are Uusi on brand name alone.

Fontaines aren't even on the same planet as Uusi designs for sure.

Don't mind if I rant a little bit here.

Fontaine was definitely a harsh comparison. The Fontaine Design is by far one of the most least-effort designs out there, a royalty free font 'f' on a color field. Uusi decks, each one of them, is a different traditional medium (Oil Paint, Gauche, Watercolor, Pastel, Colored Pencil etc), hand illustrated by Linnea Gits, the artist behind all of their decks, an incredibly talented and experienced traditionally trained artist, with an amazing portfolio of client work for companies as big as Prismacolor, Herman Miller and even The New York Times, that painstakingly creates every card, custom pips, and each deck has a strong and cohesive visual vocabulary, with heavy influence from myth and folklore.

To say you aren't a big fan, or don't get it is fine, but to say that the overall design isn't all that great is a bold statement for, for my money's worth as an artist myself, the most artistically adventurous deck series out there, with offerings that span both modern and traditional design motifs, as well as several exceptionally realized Tarot decks. I would also add they offer an incredibly pleasant customer experience, from being really communicative with their customers and fans, very friendly and active on Kickstarter in the campaigns they run, and offering really amazing unique features like hand gilded decks using Peter's traditional 400 year old gilding process, unique printing inks such as the opalescent Luna cards on their Pagan Tarot and if I am not mistaken, being the the first producer to use what is considered their signature diptych cards.

I would (will, obviously) argue they are some of the most beautiful labors of love in the medium that have earned the hype surrounding them more than most other decks/designers, and have never been one's to self hype, they have earned the communities love and following through good old fashioned quality and hard work, and have remained incredibly humble about it.

Yah, I totally got that and as mentioned, I do believe there are for sure some collectors that don't have a personal sense of taste and do buy UUSI just for the sake of their name, but that fraction is, I would argue, very tiny. While when it comes to cardistry decks the fractions is approximately pretty big.

Oh, no doubt about that. Seems to be a mostly young, hype driven community that would buy literally feces with the right logo on it.

They are, only 250 of each were made available on their website out of a 2500 print run, the rest went to Hyde Park Mouldings, who I'm assuming give to clients and employees. I didn't have the money at the time (the price in AUD+Shipping was quite high) so I had to pass on them, I too have never seen any for sale since. Uusi decks are old world decks, that's how I think of them, they won't appeal to those who are only attracted to modern artistic sensibilities. Honestly half of them I don't like, but the other half I completely love and definitely want to own eventually, as it is I only have the Brut Tarot and Blue Pagan from the kickstarter campaigns.
