I don't think that is an issue at all and since I can't use Amazon this was perfect for me.

I really liked the design, hope there will be a second try to successfully fund this deck!

I believe Alvin is looking into ways to make this happen in the future, possibly with just one colour this time, or a variation.

So after what seems to have been forever, there's now an updated tuck design recently posted on the Sishou Facebook page.

Here's the old tuck design so you don't have to go looking for it

I'm glad he's still working on this. I think it's a nice design, and I hope it funds (this is assuming he will be using crowdfunding again).

I think the card backs are quite nice, however, the face cards really bring down the deck. I think that's the major reason the artist had trouble getting this project funded.

I agree 100%.

The backs and tuck design are really quite lovely, but the courts in particular really let the deck down.
Perhaps there's been some development in the meantime?

The concept of the courts isn't that bad. If he doesn't want to start them from scratch, just changing the faces would be a big improvement. They look too goofy for this type of design.

I agree. I like the concept. Just look at the front of the box. Usually ppl put a big fat AoS on the front. This AoS looks like it's squeezed, compressed, confined. It makes you want to ask a question....

Here are the latest court designs as I thought the humans did not have relation with the beast concept.
The Chinese mythology states there are four beasts protecting each direction of the compass.

So I guess it makes more sense?

Wow really cool idea! I'm having a little trouble telling what the King of Hearts is. Is it a bird?

And the King of Clubs is a battle between a sea monster and a turtle?

Hey Eoghann,

The Hearts is portrayed by the beast of the South (Vermillion Bird), according to history its element of fire.

The tortoise is also regarded as an immortal creature. As there are no male tortoise -- as the ancient believed -- the female had to mate with a snake.

Thus the tortoise embracing a snake became the protector symbol of the north, but since the word "tortoise" was taboo in Chinese, it was referred to as the "dark warrior" (genbu 玄武 ) and finally became Zhenwu (in Chinese Taoism),

Hey Alvin, my opinion of this is that the dragon, vermillion bird, and tortoise are of the same style and the tiger drastically different. And yet I like the tiger the best. Also they kind of remind me of tattoos honestly. Maybe human courts would be better.. But that's just my opinion.

Do you think you could include the last dragon in your jokers ? Becuase technically there is another guardian of the central/middle/zhong.

I believe the last central guardian is the yellow/golden dragon?
I had human courts before, but it did not quite go well with the four beasts mythology concept.
So I changed them to beasts instead.

Those courts looking nice. That Sky Descender deck needs to take notes and do their courts like this. The colors represent the deck well.
"When I like something, I buy. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist.

When I don't like something, I pass. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist."

Thanks @Bikefanatic, I have been amending the designs of the cards to make them better...
Just need some advice so I can aim at magicians, collectors, and regular poker players.

Anything I have to look out for?

I like all but the tiger. It just doesn't seem to flow with the rest of what's shown.

I agree, but I did notice that the tiger is a Queen while the others are Kings. So maybe the Queens match the tiger in style? That would at least give the courts more consistency.

Thanks for the valuable feedback guys! Now back to work refining the deck!

Also any opinions and tips on how to market this deck successfully on kickstarter?

This is because I am located in the UK and I'm afraid the £ will affect the pledges.

@alvinhy - Since your using non-tradictional courts usually you want to have a suit indicator to distinguish the court suits at a distance. In this case, it looks like the best place would be in the center. It would make your courts "1-sided", but they would be more playable.

For example, put a diamond here and maybe spread out the indices just a hair on the QoD. It seems a bit to close.

But there are already pips on the corners?
I want to keep it two way deck so it can also be aimed at magicians

@alvinhy - Very true. "1-sided" courts might not be the best option, but there is a reason why suit indicators are used. You just can't rely on the small suit indices. Some people have bad eyes and because you have non-tradictional courts you really need the big suit indicator. How about in your top right corner badge. Maybe you could could give the hint of the suit like this guy did, but you can embellish it more to look like your customs suits. Your custom suits are nice. Now you can really go to town...

Thanks for the heads up, I think the bigger pip will be better than having it on the corner, because the face cards have that corner as well :D
A lot of the designs have been updated and I'm in talks with LPPC for producing this deck.

Well, there will be free shipping worldwide, so why not wait at home instead?
