So, I hope Steve won't be annoyed by me saying so... but, he's actually a reasonable guy.

If you drop him an e-mail, and if it looks to him like he's not going to run out of inventory by the time the special secret sale ends in an hour and a half, he *might* say sure, go ahead and order two. He might not; I don't know what his intentions are with the deck. But, given that you want one for a friend, he may be inclined to let it ride.

Even though he's not active here any more, he did spend time here as he was starting up and took advice from the board. I'm sure he still appreciates the community here.

(I'm actually surprised that no one has used this one yet...)

What does the scouter say about this deck's power level?

My scouter can't range through the internet. Once the physical specimen is in my vicinity I'll get a good reading.

Just a thought.

:)
I can confirm, I (accidentally) ordered two yesterday and my order was cancelled today.

I emailed just in time and Steve just cancelled my accidental extra order. Thanks for the suggestion to email Steve. I dodged a bullet. I am glad Steve is limiting these to try to make sure that everyone who wants one, can get at least one deck.

Not a big deal, I re-ordered just one today. So as long as that doesn't get cancelled I should be good.

I received my deck today. I usually keep one sealed and open one, but since we were limited to one, I can only say that I really like the tuck and the color scheme. The seal is a little big, but again, since I am not opening it, I guess it doesn't matter much.

Everybody starts with Shounen, it's the circle of life! Though I'd be interested in something like a Serial Experiments Lain inspired deck for sure.

Pierre.. tsk, tsk. While it was never actually advertised as a DBZ deck, look at the "Z" on the deck and the Dragon Ball Z "Z":

Buddy to me that type of anime is invisble... I grew up with the classics like Looney Tunes, merry melodies, Tom and Jerry. Dragonball z is what my son used to watched and I never liked it

Not everybody starts with shounen, but probably most folks on this forum did, judging by demographics.

Serial Experiments Lain... now there's a throwback. I should rewatch my DVD set sometime. But I think it'd be difficult to bring that kind of cyberpunk-lite aesthetic to a deck without it feeling kitschy, and the cast isn't huge, either. An ensemble piece like Paranoia Agent might work better.

Idk exactly what a "millenial" is, and neither do I care, but it ain't me.

Don't label me, man.

Here you go. From Wikipedia, but yeah I grew up on the stuff.

Merrie Melodies

Merrie Melodies is an American animated cartoon series of comedy short films produced by Warner Bros. in 1931 to 1969, during the golden age of American animation. As with its sister series, Looney Tunes, it featured some of the most famous cartoon characters ever created, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Elmer Fudd.

I'm technically a Millenial, but old enough to remember when they would play Merry Melodies shorts before the feature in movie theatres.

DBZ was also not my first foray into anime, although, I did enjoy it when we finally got it here in the States. My firsts were Ranma 1/2 and Patlabor the TV series. The neighborhood daycare lady was Japanese and her husband was loaded, so they had one of those big two meter dishes and got NHK and other Japanese stations beamed into their home. No subtitles, it was hard mode. Bonus points if you can guess my age now.

On topic though, badpete69, I'll paypal you the cost of your deck if you crack it open and scan it for us. You don't have to bother shipping it that way. My copy is still in transit.

Would we be getting Steve into trouble if we uploaded the deck to Portfolio52? The last thing I want to do is cause trouble for the artist.

I would go ahead and upload it. I am not sure many designers load their own decks.

I was thinking more for the fact that I am not an intellectual property lawyer, and I don't know if it would lead to issues regarding licensing for the creator of the deck.
