We paid somewhere between $4,000 - $6,000 for these decks and will only receive a little over a $1,000 after fees. As far as returning damaged decks, the answer is yes and no. When we have a huge amount of damage, such as the faith deck, (I think over a gross and a half were damaged due to their horrendous packing job and those were one of the decks replaced.), We send them back. But if the decks were packed well from our supplier and we only have a few, say 3 or 4 per gross, then we tend not to ask for replacements and just consider it the cost of doing business. How they pack their decks is very important in my decision to send them back or not. There is only so much anyone can do and damage will always be part of doing business in playing cards. If you complain about every single slightly damaged deck, then no one would do business with you and to tell you the truth, I wouldn't do business with one of my wholesale partners if they constantly complained about a few decks per gross. Of course if it was say, Gold Arcanes, Black Ghost First Editions or decks like that, then it would be different.

The reason I end up with a lot of damaged decks is two-fold. One, we are very picky about what decks we send out and two, we buy most of our items in multiple grosses. That means if we buy 3 gross of something, we could end up with 3 or 4 damage per gross or somewhere between 9-12 damaged decks per wholesale order. So as you can see, based on our buying volume, damaged decks can add up quickly. I donated probably another 500 decks +/- to different charities already, including to Don Boyer for the hospital he supports. I hope this answers your question.

Thanks!

That is awesome, I will try and buy from you more often.

Whew!

Will that mean that I get the best of the lot (say, 17 Black Ghost v1 decks), or the dregs (say, 17 "Faith" decks)?

Most likely, somewhere in between the two extremes, and I'm itching to find out what it will be!

Good call, chess! Mike (and Brooke Michaels' Poker World (http://www.bmpokerworld.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) are a class outfit with a great inventory and do right by their customers. Most of the decks I*ve bought in the past year or so were purchased from them.

All the lots were pre-made and just pulled when someone ordered them. They were not created on demand. We simply pulled a small brick box and a large brick box with matching numbers and put them in a flat rate envelope.

Yeah, I got from the description on your site that the lots were pre-made and all roughly equal in value.

No insult intended.I was just waxing...melodramtic, I guess.

I think, if I remember correctly we were able to put together a total of 57 or 58 sets. Somewhere in that range.

Thanks!

Wow, 57 or 58, and they sold out that quickly?

It would be fun if I get number 58 - it is one of my lucky numbers - I was born in 1958.

You won't know because they were not numbered during shipment when you bought one set. Also people who bought multiple sets, that were sent in a flat rate box the smaller boxes were pulled and combined into bigger boxes so the numbers are not the same.

Thanks!

Hey Mike,

You could have said they were limited edition, hand-numbered and signed collections and you could have gotten a lot more money. Maybe next year that would work for you.

First 17 in: Awesome Haul!!
Most are minor dings that really shouldn't affect the cards, but you wouldn't want to sell them like that.

The list: These I wanted (some I hadn't bought before): Bearbrick, Irregular, Samurai, EATCT, Apollo Blue, something with flowers, Green Bike (Cincy), Bike Ltd 1, White Arcane
And the rest: Faith, Karnival Assassins, Phoenix, Skull, Guardians, D&D Plaid Brown, D&D Chinatown, Dose

Still some more to bust open, but a great deal! Thanks!

That is not a bad haul at all. Even though these are dinged decks, there's a lot of variety and most of those are pretty desireable decks. It looks like it is a far better deal than D&D's mystery decks, even though they're not dinged. I guess I just have to be quicker to score these deals the next time BMP has a sale like this.

I bought 2 sets of these. In total I received:

2-Black Arcane
2-Black Shadowmasters Bicycle
2- Bicycle Faith
2-Karnival Midnight Foil
1-Karnival Midnight Regular
1-Black Tiger White Pips
1-Black Tiger Red Pips
1-Karnival Assassins
1-Karnival Inferno
1-Dose
1-Sentinels
1-Black Ghost
1-Karnival Ryujin
1-Karnival Hornets
1-Bicycle White Ghost
1-Bicycle Apollo
1-Bicycle Phoenix
2-Bicycle TokiDoki
1-BIcycle Tattoo
1-Purple Artifice
1-Carnival Trick Card Deck (since I do magic, yeah!)
1-Black Smith Back Erdnase CARC
1-Aladdin
1-Tragic Royalty
1-S&M V6
1-Bicycle League Back
1-Gold Dragon Back Bicycle
1-Orange Bicycle
1-Samurai

Most of these are in fine, useable condition. I've bought many decks for full retail which were in the same shape as these. In next year's voting, this is likely to be my "Deal of the Year" choice.

THANK YOU MIKE!

The nice thing is that you can open these and feel like you've ruined your expensive collectible. In other packs I picked up Gargoyles Artist Edition, Brimstone, Maiden Back, Black Fan, Black CARC Smith, EATCT, Orange & Burgundy Bikes, etc - most of these will get opened. It was a great deal for utility (of course, now I also have a bunch of decks I'm so-so about - Anne Stokes, Faith, Karnival almost-everything.....but the good stuff definitely outweighs those)

Tom,

Yes we had one a before and we sold them individually. It took too much time and created too many problems. I think it was about 2 years ago, maybe a little sooner.

@ DelMagic: Glad you like them!!!!

This was the one I saw on the table in the pic I wanted to get one of (and I got exactly one of them). The ding only affected the top card ever so slightly (couldn't notice at arm's length) - the rest are mint.
One of the gaffs looks like the back of a red NOC (how did they know??) And there's a monkey card - gotta love a deck with a monkey.
