Alan Benoit is planning for a Shadow edition of his high praised Cartomancer Poker deck. Same illustrations, but with updated details.
I wish that maybe he changes his mind until he launches in early 2020. I understand that it is a lot of work and maybe it isn't even worth the effort from a return of invest point of view, but the selfish collector I am, I really would love to see some new illustrations.

You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash thatβs being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.

I was also expecting a change, even minor, in the illustrations rather than just the background color change. Still couldn't locate the first deck yet, but it there's a chance to choose, I'd still go with the original one only.
Edit: I retract my statement, Alain said this on his Instagram page:

A first card of the #cartomancershadow, the cards will feature the same illustrations as the original deck BUT with a different, sometimes hidden element...

LOL, the OG is on my wishlist aswell. Not high enough to be hunted down yet, but definetly on it. The statement you mention is still not enough to let me be excited. First of all dark stock is something that till this day only LotrΓ©k made me buy and if there aren't more than minor changes than I will happily pass on these. We'll see, time will tell.Decknowledgy wrote:I was also expecting a change, even minor, in the illustrations rather than just the background color change. Yeah, this deck seems weirdly hard to find - I just finally managed to pick one up at the 52+J convention Personally I have no interest in the shadow edition but it should help to let more people get their hands on these decks
