You can ship up to 16 decks in a padded priority envelope for 36US. ;)

You can pack eight decks in a small priority box (with one piece of bubble wrap around all eight decks...individually bubble wrapping each deck is too much) and two small priority boxes in a padded priority envelope. Decks are pretty safe in the small priority boxes, which hold up well in shipment. :ugthink:

Hey man great that you chose my prize! I’m trying to figure out how to most affordably ship it, if you could Pm me your address I think I’ll just go to the post office on Monday and ask in person about different options to ship to you and then we can figure out the cost, I would cover the first $15 so if the estimates of $35 are correct I would ask that you cover the rest. :?

SOrry for the confusion and thanks for the help everyone I’ve never shipped internationally...

I was surprised myself that shipping a priority package would be cheaper than a smaller parcel shipped parcel post. However, I have generally found that USPS is the cheapest and best way to send packages domestic and international. Make sure though you discuss priority package options. I think it is because they have flat rate boxes, and cards are heavy, so it can be cheaper as a flat cost than paying based on weight.

The post office will not be very helpful and they will probably tell you to ship the decks in a medium priority box. You also probably have to order the padded envelope from the post office (they will delivery it free) as many post offices do not carry it. Trust me, I have shipped hundreds of decks and this is by far the safest and cheapest way to ship up to 16 decks either domestic or international.

I just wanted to say, my package from caniveski already arrived on Wednesday, but I was kinda busy and just came to post it today.
Although the tracking did not work at any way for me, they arrived safely good packed!
Thank you so much caniveski, and again the ones who made this DOTY happen!

I was about to ask you, but sometimes tracking services take a while.
So before I could write you, they arrived already. I'm totally fine with it! :)
PS: caniveski does communicate really fast! Before I could write him after I posted in this thread about taking his prize, he already texted me about this, awesome!

sooooo, 'zomp' still hasn't made an appearance and, now that we've reached the end of our list of winners and they're nowhere to be seen nor heard from, they've unfortunately now completely lost their opportunity to participate in the prize giveaway...

so we'll be moving right along to the next participant that had been randomly selected in our giveaway drawing, which was....

Those are sweet decks. I really encourage you to take the stupid shipping wrapping off and carefully (and closely) inspect the cards. The registration involved in both decks is simply stunning and worth enjoying.

Received my prize pack from Roope in excellent condition. All the way from Finland to Colorado. These are just the kind of funky/classy euro's my collection was missing, and the JP deck is back when USPCC actually printed tie-in cards. Thanks, Roope, I'm one happy camper!

Ask arjun if he can pay for the shipping? Or of course he could pay for some of it? It's just 3 decks, I imagine it can't be that expensive that you guys can't figure it out, even to India.

I agreed this year to basically cover free domestic shipping, but any extra international shipping cost is borne by the recipient. I don’t think it is fair that a prize donor be expected to also cover worldwide shipping too. I paid part of the shipping for the prize I received this year.

As it was a prize I was about to receive, I stated to my donor that I can take all shipping cost.
It was not too much though, but I think like Bradius said, you can't expect the donor to pay the shipping cost.
Since that would make the donor to even pay to get the prize to the winner. Just my opinion.
But if it's really too much, maybe you can find an arrangement or so, I don't know much about shipping to India, but maybe you can send to someone within that region and he can send it further and it will be cheaper?

Re: *OFFICIAL* 2018 'Deck of the Year' Awards

Unread post by PipChick »

Every donation of the prize giveaway contest is a gift of great generosity from those participating sponsors/donors to support the UC DOTY event, contributed completely on their own free will and accord. With that said (and as stated in the official DOTY rules of participation and terms/conditions of the prize giveaway contest), the sponsors/donors of the offered prizes, as selected by winners, completely determine the terms and conditions in regards to shipping arrangements. Some donors take on any and all associated costs of shipping regardless of where in the world the prize is being recieved, which is waaaay above and beyond, but an offer that should/can not be expected in every/any circumstance from every donor as each and every prize donation is different and may have varying degrees of challenges/constraints regarding shipment of prizes and/or means of the donor by which to do so.

It is recommended and advised that winners personally reach out to donors through PM here at UC and discuss solutions to come to the best option by which arrangements can be mutually agreed upon by both parties. Whether or not details of shipping arrangements were stated prior to prize selection, as a winner, it is generally most courteous to offer what you can to help offset shipping costs whenever/wherever possible, especially in cases when shipping is exceptionally high as with international folks. Keep in mind, the prize(s) itself are being provided completely free of charge from the wholehearted kindness of the donors and offering to financially contribute and chip in towards the costs to ease the burden of shipping expenses is a gesture of goodwill and appreciated consideration from winners to receive their gifted prize(s).

Now, it's understandable if the prize winner/recipient also cannot contribute (or only contribute very little) to meet the costs of shipping expenses and/or the donor and prize winner cannot come to a mutually agreed upon solution by which to send/recieve the donated prize, as was the case expressed by others who then chose a different available prize from another donor. However, in this case, since this is the very last prize of the giveaway, there is no other available prize option from which the winner may select from, so, if shipping arrangements cannot be agreed upon by both parties, I regret to inform y'all that this particular last winner unfortunately has no other choice but to decline the prize as offered and forfeit their participation in the giveaway. :|

As someone who lives internationally and often has to absorb the extra high costs of shipping associated with this hobby, I understand that this may not/is not always fair but that's unfortunately the way it currently is and we hope everyone understands.

Hopefully, now that the winner, 'arjun1616' and our super awesome donor, 'hsbc', seem to be in contact (or perhaps will be shortly), y'all will be able to work something out between the two of you and come to an agreement that will be accomodating on both ends.

Best of luck and thank you both for your support and participation in this year's DOTYs. If there's any issues and/or concerns, please feel free to reach out, either privately by PM or publically here, and we'll be happy to help mediate wherever possible. :)

Thanks! :D

As noted, I picked a couple up. I do recommend them. They aren't the greatest handling, but it is great artwork and something different. It is nice to collect beautiful examples from other cultures. I think of it as a part of broadening your collection of playing cards.
