I forgot to point out that the green gilding looks simply awesome, also! (and agree with you that we don't need two green decks. Perhaps experiment with swapping reds and greens to make a primarily red back?)
I am not sure about red. But I tried green. Both blue and green looks ok for a background. What about corners and cherry red on flowers?

UPD: Cherry red works better with a green background, lighter red with blue

It's a good question.

But I also have one:

I understand that you have a tradition to print two UCxxxx decks in one campaign. But I am slowly killing that full bleed green back design now. First reason - printing less than 1000 decks will drive the cost well above $20 +sh. The second reason - I am not sure if this full bleed deck is ok to print without foil. The third reason - I prefer borders. And also I am missing colorful backs a lot!!!

What if we print one deck with borders only? This deck is good with and without foil. Also, it will allow you to buy a regular deck at a good price if you don't need/like foil. Gilding is still possible for LTD deck. Maybe gold? If you have NEO:WAVE and NEO:WAVE Ultra, they are the same but different! A deck without foil is more colorful when you compare them both. But foil is good also

Any ideas?

As much as I love borderless backs, in this case I'd be good with just the single affordable bordered deck

So one deck with a standard and limited variation? Standard would be non-foil and limited would be foiled? I can get behind that. I'm not particularly fond of gilding, but I actually liked that green gilding you showed in a previous post a lot. Think that would that look okay with it?

This is a great idea. One deck : standard and ltd.

Exactly! If we print two different decks, it means not two, but five: two with foil, two without foil, one gilded. No way! I am not ready for this. :ugthink:

1. Sounds great to me.
2. I personally don’t feel that is necessary.

My preference between borderless or ~borderful~ depends on the art, and I really believe the art you made is better with border.

Just give me a Montenzi designed cold foil deck printed by Cartamundi and I am happy. Borders, no borders I don't care. Prefer no borders, but don't want infinite versions. I am tired of gilding, so happy to have gilding off the table. If you leave it in, the completist in me will probably force me to get it, for now maybe.

Thanks for the comments!!!

Ok. I love the back (red color and some lines/symmetry are WIP). I am now working on courts. Please don't expect the same storm as I'll only post courts when they are ready.

p.s. I have never seen gilded decks so I'll do it in this project (only?) Gilding is going to be a free upgrade for first-day backers (1 out of 3/4/5/6 decks)

OK, kiddies: Alex and I discussed naming briefly but decided to "ask the members".

I kind of like Kaleidescape or Harlequin. Ideas?

I am digging Kaleidescape. It has a bizarre, quirky feel to it. I think that's a perfect fit for this Montenzi production.

I am really getting a summer wibe of the back design, I think the name should reflect that.

I am also getting an Southern American samba wibe from it.... Maybe the name should be something on Spanish/Portuguese?

Emerald pond vibe for me, but doesn't sound anything romantic

I agree!

Also, Kaleidoscope is a too long name for me. The name should be short and colorful (or green). Harlequin is also a green color, but it's too light. Emerald is almost what we have here.

Project timeline: this time, I'll launch KS when everything is ready to print the deck. I hope we can do it soon, but I think it should be at the end of July. There is nothing to worry about it as we'll need one-two months to print this deck after KS. All files should be submitted to Cartamundi in advance, and we'll press a "print" button two weeks after KS.

It does remind me of the Kaleidoscope patterns in Dr. Strange, but the orange burst in the middle keeps giving me a flare vibe.

Kaleido Flare Playing Card?
(forgive me if it's lame :P )

I like smth Flare. Not bad.

NEO, NEO:Wave, Flare, Glide, ...

Flare:Emerald
Flare:UP - a limited edition (or your bank account)

More ideas?

Following your line of thought, if flare and emerald are your thing but since "Emerald Flare" makes little to no sense, alternatively does "Emerald Blaze" sound better?

One short word is still better. We have time to find a perfect name for this deck.

Going off Mike’s Portuguese feel, clarão is flare.

You have to watch auto correct closer these days. I typed "scope" but had just looked at an audio product that ended in "scape"? Go figure. Sometimes good thoughts are accidental or at least incidental.

I have one question: should we produce a full bleed green deck as LTD edition at a crazy price? :D I mean 200 decks only (almost unbelievable for a deck with foil both sides). The problem - the artwork is different, so it's a different deck, with another set of CMYK/FOIL plates. The price could go up to $50-60-70 on KS. It's not hard for me, but is there a demand?

I am not interested in making a special box for the same deck and sell it for $60-70.

In Portugal, more exactly in Madeira Island, we have a flower called "Estrelícia". It's colors are similar to the ones used in the back design.

https://www.blog-flores.pt/wp-content/u ... oto-33.jpg

The flower, in English, is called "Bird of Paradise" and originates from South Africa, but it grows very well in Madeira.

If you want a Portuguese name for the deck, I think Estrelícia would fit very well.

Not a fan of Ultra limited editions, personally. I probably would be if I could afford them, but alas...
