The Kraken theme deck is very nice indeed. I like everything but the one way back. :drool:

AARCO Space-O! Card game. Circa 1960s. I just love the retro space age look. Picked up a pair of space cadets while I was there that fit the theme just fine. :)
oh that looks awesome! wish i could get my hands on a deck

Really wouldn't mind getting 1 or 2 of those Kraken decks, but the website only ships internationally with FedEx. So, over 100 bucks for the shipping alone :?

Let me know if anyone in the US wants to buy some and supply to internationals :)

EDIT: Got myself a fixer :ugdance:

It's not a recent addition to my collection, but...Cleaning out my desk yesterday, I found this among the dozens of decks there:

==========[ BernhardAltmanncashmere ]==========
http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u570/RSLancastr/BernhardAltmanncashmere_zpsed4b619e.jpg
A highly-unusual advertising deck for Bernhard Altmann Cashmere, published by Piatnik of Austria in the 1950s.

Bernhard Altmann was a maker of high-end fabric, including Cashmere.

I don't know what the Asian theme of this deck has to do with that, but it is highly unusual.

I usually don't buy partial/incomplete decks, but the unusual courts (and the deck's age) led me to purchase it even though there were only 28 out of 52 cards, plus one joker.

Speaking of which, the joker almost seems as though it was an afterthought. The different-colored background, different artistic style and color palette, and even a subtly-different back make it seem like it is possibly even from another deck entirely.
I just did a Google search for the deck, and found these two pages, with far more information about, and many more images from the deck:

http://www.pinterest.com/pin/470133648572536529/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.wopc.co.uk/austria/piatnik/cashmere.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A couple of things that I missed Friday. One is a Steamboat 220 drck with a different back - obviously a marked deck. Never knew that there was such a thing. Also a Frank Lloyd Wright set from MOMA in New York, in a nice Ostrich skin case. It's real, despite the fact that it looks very recent. I was thinking they had mixed two sets of pix together...

Steamboat 220 is so common it doesn't even get its own entry in Hochman's, it's grouped with 3 or 4 other decks, but I am pretty sure that the marked backs are rare. The normal back is the typical diamond pattern used in that time period for this and the other decks all listed as Hochman NY57 which includes several "Squeezers" including the Bulldog, Elf, Gem, Hustler, Triton and even Bee #92.

Mystery solved: in spite of the tuck they were in, it's a Deland"Nifty" deck, Hochman N3. No wonder it didn't look right!

My Zenith decks didn't show up as "arrived" until after 5PM and the post office closes at 4. I'll go grab them in the morning... (and push 4 or 5 outbound boxes, too)

Has anyone ever noticed that the eBay "Global Shipping program" goes to a place at the airport in Erlanger Kentucky. Interesting.

Some new additions.. today and over the past couple weeks. These are all fantastic! The Oracle set is extremely cool. I do have to say though.. the Steampunk cards had the worst packaging I have ever seen!! I really don't know how they survived the journey..Other than that..everything is amazing!

Yep, THIS Saturday at noon (Central, I guess? - maybe Eastern, but Jackson lives in Bartlett which is a suburb of Memphis, now). I'm told that there are maybe 30 of the Baker Street Limited Edition decks left, so if you're after one of those don't be late! I suspect that they'll likely sell out in an hour or two. The others are likely going to last for at least a while, but certainly not forever!

WRONG WRONG WRONG: on his website it says 0000 Central, which means it's midnight his time or 1AM here in the New York City timezone FRIDAY NIGHT for all practical purposes... (and 10PM THURSDAY on the left coast - a la California, etc)

Yeah, crappy packaging. I wasn't so lucky, most of mine arrived damaged. I contacted Nat, hopefully he will replace them.

Strange. Now on the homepage, it says "Saturday May 10th 12:00 pm Central". But I will not take any chance... I will be there at 00h00 also! I also missed the Holmes campaign.

It's said 12pm central the other day. Thats why we need to go with 24 clocks, no mistakes.

In addition to the Zenith cards, I received this little guy today. Not sure how old it is but I. Getting a 50s - 60s vibe off it for some reason. Haven't looked it up yet, figured in the time it would take me to research it I could post it and someone way more knowledgable than I would drop the knowledge bomb down.

The implication is, if the site goes live at midnight (0000) central Thursday night/Friday morning (however you look at it) then the west coast is two (2) hours behind, so if it is 1 AM in New York, 11:59 PM/12:01 AM Thurs/Friday in Chicago, 11 PM Thursday night in Denver, and you lefties are at 10 PM Thursday evening.

Time travel is fun :lol:
Don't worry if it seems confusing, I've been 7 hours ahead of Central time for almost 3 years, and my parents still can't figure it out. My in-laws have a clock set to our time, and they STILL ask what time it is here...

It says 12PM (1200) Central on the Kings Wild Website, now.

If I miss this release I'm going to freak. Someone please confirm this is right (and by that, I mean... it's really at noon and not at midngight? And CDT, not CST, right?!):

Thanks Mike, but yes, I know how time zones work.

I think what threw me was your referring to 0100 Saturday as "Friday night". And then, referring to three hours earlier as "Thursday".

I know that we here on the "Wet Coast" are a few hours behind you guys, but not so far behind that 0100 Saturday for you is somehow Thursday for us!

Maybe I should get some sleep and come back and read your post again when I'm better rested.

Check the time in your BIOS. Even if you manually set the time/date in Windows it will sometimes default back. (Unless you are on a Mac. Then all bets are off.)

No, it probably won't make much more sense then, either :lol: I tend to confuse myself with the time differences, hence the over simplification. :mrgreen:

Enough of the time zones - refer to timeanddate.com to figure it out and I will try not to further confuse things. I think it was actually a day behind, don't remember, but I do remember why: there's a certain app that insists on the time being set back for it to install correctly regardless of whether you have a license or not, and when I "fixed" it afterwards I apparently hit off one day left or right on the new laptop my "company" furnished. The beast has 16gb RAM and an octal processor. I'm sold...

OK - back on topic. A few more toys arrived today. A mint sealed Congress "US Navy" deck that I had never seen, and a Greatful Dead deck that seems to be out of focus. Some day I will have Kai flown in to give me photography lessons. :oops: :roll: Also I might have shown this Friday, but I think I forgot with all the other stuff: Marine One deck from the Ronald Reagan administration. (which is upside-down again *smh* Looks right on the darned "smart" phone...

I also got Paul's "Zenith" first shipment about two hours ago and played with lighting and got what I think is an awesome rainbow effect. For some reason the red/orange/yellow doesn't show up as well once picture is saved, but the blue/purple/green end of the spectrum certainly does:
