This is the first redemption I haven't had to pay for. (and at that price its a good one)

A year before you can buy one, or just to get one as a gift?
To get one as a gift. Also FYI, this version will be going up for public sale in a few days. Not sure what that price will be, but anyone who wants one will have an opportunity.

I was going to respond to that comment of yours with "Dare I say, you won't regret it" but I'm glad you came to your own conclusions about it :)

Well, he also had a track record across Arabesque, Damask, and in some ways, Crypt, but I am sure his advertising around it could have swayed a bunch of people as well.

I noticed while checking out for the three additional redemption decks, I clicked on additional details and I seen 'Red'. Maybe that's the color of the Redemption VIII/ Craft deck.
RED for Redemption, previous redemption decks use this code.
 thanks for letting me know.

Looking at the pictures of some of the deck, I was somewhat kind of right.
Wait until you see it in person! It's hard to describe but the color of the stock shifts a bit depending on the angle. Zlexander got somewhat of what he wanted when he was referring to "pink stock."

Lotrek on Patreon wrote: CRAFT edition is different in many ways from the final (official) edition. I won't elaborate on this, you'll see the differences once you get the official too in early September. The only measurable difference is on the tuck case: The Craft edition has a much simpler and completely different tuck box. All the other differences (and there are a lot) are purely a matter of taste.
Don't think we can say it's pretty much the same until we see them, but aside from that, why we worried about getting a deck previously thought to be worth $115 at a $30 discount?
I would argue only a few people thought it was actually worth that price but paid because of FOMO. Looking at his advertising around it.
Yeah, my wording was improper, mb. I meant to say that it was being sold at this price, now at this price.

Hello! So will there be Redemption VIII, Craft, and Final versions of the Mystery III deck? If yes, what's the difference between Craft and Redemption?

The craft version is essentially Mystery III's first printing, which is virtually perfect but not exactly what Lotrek had initially envisioned for Mystery III. Therefore, he is doing a second printing despite there being nothing flawed about the first printing. All active patrons who have been patrons for a full year have access to one craft edition via Redemption VIII as a free gift deck. Otherwise, all patrons can buy up to three Craft versions whether or not they're eligible for the gift deck.

The Craft version can also be bought by the public, it just won't come inside a Redemption tuck. That's the only difference between the Redemption version for patrons and the public version.

There's only two versions, technically three (explained later). Craft (Mystery III first printing hopefully shipping next week) and the Official version (second printing coming around September). With the official one, to make it a bit exclusive for patrons, he mentioned he would make a slight difference on the tuck itself between backers and the public, as well as include a double backer. You can choose whether or not to count that as a variant.

The differences between craft and official are unknown to all except possibly a few. For example, I've been explained the changes and the rationale behind them. He's also shown me photos, but he's still keeping that one a mystery to hold true to the original premise.

Then there will be a Mystery III special edition as a Year 3 reward. The special edition will be on different stock, with different tuck case and different foil colors, and will be the base reward for Year 3 Patreons.

It's evident Lotrek was struggling to keep this all a secret, which I imagine is why he let backers vote if they wanted to see the craft edition - turns out the majority did. Plus I imagine it was a way to spark confidence in his backers, as Tim's reaction is likely not isolated to just him, even if he perhaps may be in the minority.

TL;DR: In terms of cards, there will be 3 versions. If you're a completionist and want to pay attention to all the details, there are 4-5 versions:
  • Mystery III Craft (can come in a Redemption outer tuck or not)
  • Mystery III Official (will have a slight variation on the tuck depending on whether it was bought by a patreon backer or the public, as well as a double backer. He did this with the Arabesque players edition, where if you backed the project via KS, the players edition would come with a double backer and instead of unnumbered, was noted as D. Backer on the bottom of the tuck).
  • Mystery III Special (base reward for Year 3)

These have similar print run to Royal Silk, which initially was 700, with an additional 50 more printed.

From what we know so far:
• Mystery III (1/748)
• Redemption Series Vol. VIII - Mystery III Craft Edition (1/750)

The numbering won't be different between public/Patreon versions, all out of the same total print run. (As a hypothetical example, #123/750 might have a double backer where as #254/750 may not).

P.S. I try to keep my list up-to-date as much as possible, so feel free to check out my signature if you're ever wondering about stuff like this.

I believe its to do with the fact that Redemption/ Craft wont be the official edition, its more of a cancelled edition so offered at a lower price , similar to White Patrons I believe

I think $85-$90deck from what i saw seems more than a decent price including shipping to the US. I am intrigued to find out the difference between what the craft deck is and the final version. The only hint might be between his final Fable deck and the craft version. I think the difference was the foil came out too dark, so maybe he wanted to use a different foil application to get the desired effect? Just speculating. Given his sale of a fairly large number of these decks, I would not count them as rare, but a way to pick up a really blinged out deck fairly cheap. I am definitely opening one or two of these bad boys and it will likely be a fairly affordable deck for me to show off what Lotrek can do. At least that is my hope. His Damask deck used to be a show-stopper at my office.

I tend to open up Every Single Deck that Lotrek produces himself in Greece. For most artists/manufacturers, I'll open one and keep any dupes sealed. But not only do Lotrek's decks need to be freed and admired, there's also the occasional... let's say, "Easter Egg" in a deck here or there. And I like to know.

That said, yeah, I never did open up my Blue Damask. Or... did I? Now that I think about it, I'm not sure. I'll have to take a look and see if I broke the seal on the plastic wrapper that one came in.

At the moment, I'm generally not buying duplicate decks, so I'll only have the one Redemption VIII when it arrives, but yeah, I'm going to open that deck and bathe my eyes in glorious, luxurious playing cards.

That's a great question I don't know the answer to and isn't isolated to the anniversary edition. ICONS Imperial and Reverse also have 3 jokers. I believe some of the other ICONS decks do as well, although I can't be certain off the top of my head.

I have a screenshot somewhere.......of the deck list. Kevork is another great reference of what the line up is.

A few months ago I was having a talk with someone regarding different Card Creators Patreon and they said for Oath the information is first shared for Public then for Patrons , at that time I didn’t think much of it , but now I do see that the info is quite a few times shared to public first than Patrons for example the release timing of Blue Prism . Although it still isnt a big deal for me but I feel Patrons should get the first updates for a better experience . What do you guys feel about it?

F**k updates, get shit done, is my approach. I was in for the decks (in hindsight lol) and not for posts. Lorenzo's Patreon is what I would consider S-tier but I rarely read his posts tbh.
I do get that some fellows care for this stuff, especially low tier patreons that aren't eligible for patreon decks - in that regard, for his business, it sure would be better to update patreons first and then the public but I don't hold a grudge when he shares something on e.g. instagram first.

This has been true in the past, but lately Lotrek has been noticeably better at keeping his Patreon patrons updated before releasing info to the public. I do think he is hearing our concerns and getting better about them. YMMV.

It does seem that IG posts are seen first before the Patreon and Oath emails. As long as Patreons get first dibs on buying, doesn't matter to me.

I snagged my 3 decks, I doubt I'll get any more.
It's about 170-180 left for each of the Mystery Crafts and Blue Prism decks when I looked about 20 minutes ago. Looks like things don't sell out too fast lately.

I am not quite as negative on the Blue Prism Oath as you Havonsagard, but I have a similar reaction.

I definitely didn't feel this was a deck I HAD to get. Because it was a design that has been done before (more than a few times) and just one foil, that kind of took a lot of the unique magic from me. While there might be some sight improvements in his printing on black stock, again not enough to compel me right now. However, $35 each shipped does at least get me were I might want 2 or 3. A brick? Not really. I am interested a bit to see the foil on the black stock, but I don't expect it to wow me like I expect from Redemption VIII, Then again, the deck is less than half the cost of Redemption VIII.

For me, Lotrek's delivery is reliable. Timely? Still, point taken. Except he still sold a bunch of them, so i guess Lotrek can laugh to the bank with my money. i was glad to send it.
