Even with the confusion of the rewards, you have stumbled to success Jackson. You started with "he who shall not be named" and ended up being friends with 4pm and Albino dragon. Nice call.

My only final bitch is you should have made the stretch goals on the kickstarter home page so it's easy to see. you have to dig to find out you have already reached your $85,000 stretch goal. you might have wanted to put a $120,000 and $140,000 stretch goal and just maybe... you should never run out of stretch goals. i think you might have close to 3000 backers when this is done. nice wave. http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/172280 ... card-deck/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I see that you changed some $1000 rewards to $750 rewards. nice and I've been watching the $15 reward pool. these are the guys you want to step up in rewards.

With you mentioning their kick starters:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/4pm ... s?ref=card" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think you have started and trend of support. I think Grid 2.0 and Synthesis will have a nice exhale if everyone throws some media at both of these kickstarters.

Just to update everyone on what I'm thinking about these great cards (and I'm sure everyone does care what I think) I'll repost a comment I made on the KS site:

In my last comment I said "I just switched my pledge from an $11 for one deck to $24 for one original and one Gold Cert – plus $66 in add-ons so I can get 2 of each deck and variant!" Okay, so I'm a jerk. I woke up this morning and realized I miscalculated the cost of a branded Fed 52 add-on, and would have done better to keep the original pledge. Oh well, I adjusted my pledge and Jackson deserves the extra 2 bucks! And if someone on the fence snapped up the $11 pledge, it's a win/win/win. This just shows how deliriously wonderful these cards are: they affected my ability to do simple math AND I'm thinking of them in my sleep!

Truth be told, $15 is still way too much for this deck. Having said that, the Federal 52 is so well designed that it relieves some of the sting of overpaying for the deck. Plus if you purchase a sufficient volume of decks to get the price down to $11-$12 per deck, then it really isn't so overpriced since the shipping is included (for domestic buyers, that is. Yes, I feel your pain, international buyers).

Perhaps the thing I appreciate the most about this deck is the willingness of Jackson to take into consideration all the constructive input on the various forums and posts to really improve an already impressive deck. He never produced playing cards before, and his earliest designs showed it with the unattractive, huge one-way back in his original design. But the deck has come a long way since then, and when we do our polls for 2013 Deck of the Year at the end of this year, this is going to be a heavy-weight contender.

I also admire the way he took professional cardist’s opinions and constructive criticism in forming his beautiful artwork into a near-perfect deck of playing cards. There's a lot to be said about that. If I designed a deck, I wouldn't care what you minions had to say! (jk!) I also think it's great that he got our Canadian mod pining over American money. Don't worry Jay- I won't tell anyone. I couldn't anyway- you're the only Canadian I talk to..

on a side note, sinjin- I've always loved your input on this forum- do it more often!

Jackson your cards are amazing....
With the number cards I have replace the Treasury Seal that had the phrase "A Kings Wild Project By Jackson Robinson" and replaced it with the more archaic treasury seal that contains the Latin phrase "ergo decipiatur mundus vult decipi" which means "Therefore, the world wants to be deceived."
I want to say this same quote that's on the White Ghost deck from Ellusionist

I think these would have been a shoe-in for the record if Jackson had decided to add the Silver Certificate decks to this Kickstarter, but I don't think we'll see it set a new record now. I am disappointed that Jackson decided, for whatever reason, to create a second Kickstarter for the Silver edition decks, as us international buyers are going to get screwed a second time around.

The record would be a great achievement for him, but I think that Pedale set it at a time where there was perhaps not as much competition in the Kickstarter community for playing cards. I won't make a judgement on which cards are better/more deserving of the record, as I think both deserve commendation for the effort that has gone into them, are of different styles, and came out under different Kickstarter environments. I imagine Jackson is very happy with how well the decks have done anyway.

I think spliting it into two was the better idea money wise. I am in $66 for this set of secks if he relesed the other decks with this one then I might be albe to push it to $77 or $88 if thr black deck came out too. but if he waites and does another KS then I would be in for another $40-70 insted of $22.

I messaged Jackson about this issue a couple weeks back. Here was his response;
Apologies. I will most likely have all four decks available in the next kickstarter if u want to wait.
I decided to go ahead and pledge as I get two of each (branded and unbranded) and $22 for 8 decks was OK with me.

Honestly, Pedale was a mystery to me. The design was only OK, not great. The tuck box was individually serialized, which is awesome, but otherwise very plain. What you received for a $15 price point was very underwhelming. I think it got a boost by being featured in some other social media sites and design blogs, and the designer promoted the deck very well and efficiently.

I much prefer the design of the Fed 52, and I'm assuming the box will have some nice embossing and foiling. Plus, the companion Gold Certificate deck was offered at a much more reasonable $11 price point, so you're getting much more bang for the buck with the Fed 52 over the Pedale. I think one factor that may hold the Fed 52 deck from breaking Pedale's sales record is the convoluted and evolving reward tiers.

I think if Jackson designed custom brick boxes for both the Fed 52 and Gold Certificate decks and had a reward tier that featured both bricks in the custom brick boxes, that would've been a very attractive high-dollar tier that would've lured a lot of backers and gotten him over the hump for the record. But even if Jackson doesn't break Pedale's record, he still had a wildly successful campaign, and with his positive conduct in this current campaign, I know he garnered enough good will so that his next deck release will be as highly regarded and amply funded as well.

So Mr. Jackson added poker chips as an add-on today and the design is good enough that I would have gotten the set but not for $10. oh well I do not need another cover anyway.

I hadn't noticed the unbranded decks until now.

Jackson: Is it possible to get the unbranded decks instead of the branded ones, or is adding them on the only way to get them? Because I'd rather just have the unbranded ones tbh.

Totally possible. Simply pledge $22 and select no reward and your done. Once the campaign is over you will be able to specify which UN branded 2 decks you want. Selecting "no reward" doesn't mean you won't get anything it just means you don't want to pledge for any of the specific pledge tiers.

I'm currently on the "Ace of Diamonds Celebration Deck / International Backers be sure to add $7 for shipping" pledge level. If I do what you said, how much shipping will I have to add?

Sorry if I'm asking questions that might be glaringly obvious :oops:

Can I mix decks in the multiple deck tiers?

Unfortunately when the pledge tiers were created there was only 1 deck. The Original Bicycle Branded Decks which are $15 each instead of $11. So the tiers are prices for those decks not the other three. Unless it specifically states other wise in the tier description when it says "decks" in the description it is only referring to Bicycle Branded Federal 52 Decks. If you would like any Bicycle Branded Gold Cert Decks, Unbranded Federal 52 Decks, Unbranded Gold Cert Decks you will need to treat those as add ons and adjust your pledge accordingly. Thank you for your patience.

2 Hours to go. Here's the latest update:

----------
"Project Update #46 - My last request!

Hey guys you have been so amazingly awesome throughout this campaign. I would be lying if I were to tell you that I didn't want US to break kickstarter records and for the Federal 52 to become the highest grossing deck project to date.

As I'm writing this update we are sitting at $135,621 we need to rise above $146,595 in less than two hours to break the record.

What I am asking of you is for every single backer to pledge (add on) for 1 more deck ($11). If every backer pledges for one more deck and we break the record I will create 1 more poker chip just for my kickstarter backers and you will all receive the poker chip for free, as a thank you for making this campaign so awesome. I will also sign one deck for ALL of my 2500+ backers.

To do this simply click the manage my pledge button and the add $11 to your base pledge. There is no need to change tiers you adding $11 will lock you in for an extra deck.

Lets do this

Thank you everybody, from the bottom of my heart.

Jackson"
----------

I would do it... if only I wasn't already selling my first born to pay for my current pledge amount :|
What about you?

Congrats Jackson.

I love this deck, but kickstarter makes me want to club a baby seal with managing my pledge.
