For $60, I'd say that's unacceptable. If he were releasing it specifically as an errored deck at like $35 and people knew that going in, it'd be more acceptable.

Received my white patrons today, Id say 11/12 courts have some kind of damage probably 3 have what I would normally likely consider "replace" damage.
Its such a nice deck, shame that happened.
Would it be possible to get pics of what that looks like for you?

The smudges on the borders of the heart and club jacks look terrible. Not sure how that passed muster. Lots of issues elsewhere as well. I really hope the year 1 rewards don't have the same troubles.

Since I didn't hear from the smudges yet, I really tryed to clean my phone screen when I saw the JoH in @Evilgamer's post, haha.
Unacceptable for even a $5 deck.

alright Im going to put smudge gate to rest now, that was random table debris not something on the cards. There are a few scratches on that JOH border though.

I'm wishing upon a star for a player's deck with those courts someday. Even better than The Golden Rule (sorry kevork).

The Patrons Test Print from back last year is essentially a players version.
Has these courts but no foil

Thanks. I'm not a patron and those don't seem to be for sale on his website. I'm hoping for something widely available.

Dang. Most of the cards (except maybe 10?) had noticeable blemishes. Deck is still very beautiful but I'm a bit disappointed. But I purchased this deck knowing the issues the deck faced so I'll accept it as a flawed masterpiece and move on.
Here's to hoping Mystery III is a home run with no errors

I am very confused. Did he say the decks sold were going to possibly have issues? I thought he said he opened all the decks and put good decks together from all the decks. I was under the impression that the decks sold did not have any issues. I am amazed that people are saying they are OK with it especially paying $60 for a deck. Any other person did this and there would be mob forming.

When I had asked if these would be Redemption decks, he said they didn't have any issues, just that he had a lower quantity of them than he needed for the Patreon rewards, so they would be sold as "White Patrons." As far as I'm aware, nothing was indicated to imply blemishes and such. I'm abroad right now so I'm not sure if the decks have arrived, but my tracking continues to say "label created, not yet in system."
It surprises me, because when I received the Golden Rule Players deck, I was genuinely impressed by how deep the blacks were and the overall ink quality.

Time and date?
All jokes aside; I don't buy any Oath deck until he fulfills the still not fulfilled 3 years of patreon rewards he owes me so, I have no eggs in this particular basket.
I'd still urge folks to do the same, for Lotrék's own sanity. Remember how he had troubles fulfilling his decks pre-patreon? Now with an upped output of decks and higher print runs, it seems he's overwhelmed from my pov. It feels to me like I'm watching a car, that is about to hit the wall in all honesty. Hopefully I'm wrong...

You're remembering right. I'm really glad I decided not to buy one of these. I'd be demanding a refund if I had. It bothers me a bit that he looked through all these and deemed them acceptable. I'm gonna hold off on buying any of his decks for a while. I don't trust that what he would deliver would match what he says. At the 11th hour I had jumped in and bought one of the Mystery 3 decks, and I'm kinda regretting it now.

Is the Golden Rule deck included in the Year 2 rewards a different deck to the Players deck?

Yes, players decks with Lotrek historically refer to the unfoiled versions. The collector's version for the Patreon Year 2 will be the foiled one.

You all convinced me to keep my deck sealed and just sell it in the future. I don't want to open it to find a bunch of damage and then regret it. Lotrek should've been more clear about these. He made it seem as though they're all flawless. Considering the condition they're in, these should've been redemption decks (one deck a month, remember? what are we up to now, like redemption XXV?)

Is that really how his patreon goes? He gives the damaged decks as rewards?

Not quite. Since we are waiting for promised rewards, he would send out test prints as rewards that were never originally promised, decks that weren't up to his standards, etc. We are not getting damaged decks as rewards.

Again, its a really beautiful deck. But it probably should have been a redemption series deck like others have said. Disappointing since 60 euros aint nothing to sneeze at but I pay more for dinner dates here in LA so whatever man
.
I do feel those of us who decided to purchase this deck should be offered a discount code for future purchases

People are just accepting the fact that the 60€ decks they bought are damaged? That is odd.

Change the things you're able to change and accept the ones you can't, I guess.
I'd be fuming if I had bought one or some but at the end of the day, what are you going to do about it? Sure, you can message Lotrék and in my past experience he always went out on a limb to right any wrongs but with higher demand nowadays and all the delays, not sure what he can do, except for sending out replacement cards/decks which will cost him a lot of time and will throw him further down the delay path.

Pretty much, what is going to happen? Im going to pay to send a deck all the way back to Greece?
Hes not going to reprint them, if he did, exactly how long do you think that would take?
He could give us a refund/credit but .....it's Lotrek he doesnt seem to keep records of anything, even the redemption decks you have to go make a $0 purchase...I haven't tried but I bet I could probably get away with doing that even though Im year...I guess year4 backer (and a few months extra)

Yeah, you're right, Harvonsgard. I'm not too stressed or upset because it feels like wasted breath. I did message him to ask if he could provide a discount for a future purchase for those of us who bought white patron. I think thats a fair compromise that allows him to move on to other projects and do right by his supporters. But we shall see

I'm so used to seeing "error" decks becoming these grail collector items that scintillate deep pockets everywhere. Imagine if Lotrek's Magnum Opus turned out to be a well-printed White Patrons lol. You never know. Keep it sealed, might be worth $12k someday.

For the Mystery decks and any other public decks, it's going to be as perfect and defect free as much as Lotrek can control these. You can see in other Lotrek threads, that he'll send replacements for any damaged cards.
The White Patreons are an anomaly as this is the only deck he sold which has such type of damages. The rest were printing errors like the Arabesque Error deck which goes for more than the non-error deck now, or released as redemption decks. But I can't blame him for that. He did show some of the problems and said explicitly that these decks were acceptable.
Probably see it as his White Patreon Seconds deck. You may say that 2nds and Error decks usually go for much lower prices than that, but none of us know just how much the White Patreon would actually cost if sold normally. 60 may just be at a 50% discount!

I thought the community consensus was to value the actual beauty of the cards and not resell value.
