Nice! Look forward to greeting these.
Will you say "Hello there, deck!"?

Recent trades and purchases. Has anyone had an instance of opening a Bohemia deck and finding only one joker? This one in the photo had only one joker. I emailed Uusi, rather sheepishly as I purchased them from ebay to ask if that has happened before. I also emailed the retailer, and they are sending me another deck, which is super nice. I just wanted to know why it only had one joker, he said he never opened any so he had no idea. I thought maybe one of you folks would have some insight. Thank you.

I've found missing cards in previously unopened decks a couple times... one was an 8 of hearts, can't recall the other right now. Each time it was simply a mistake in manufacturing, and the people were nice enough to send a replacement deck.

I have yet to have had the pleasure of opening a Bohemia deck. :(

...but I recently ordered a Bohemia Limited Edition from Uusi, and it has been shipped. I will be on the lookout for what you've described here - Thanks for the "heads up!"

bmpokerworld on ebay. They have a set of the Bohemia decks, I had a hard time finding the blue one and was given a tip to look on ebay. It was super nice of them to send another deck for just a missing joker. Good customer service on ebay can be rare. I have had very good luck with that. Thanks for everyone's responses.

This one is just the regular edition, not the limited. The Bohemia is my favorite Uusi deck and this is my first one. So excited to finally have one even sans the 2nd joker!

Is it your favorite because it is your first, or is it your first because it is your favorite?

It is my favorite because of the court cards, and the back design. I do like the Blue Blood Redux back design, but the courts don't really hit me on the same level. It's all a matter of preference I suppose. The upcoming Pagans are the first I had a chance to back on Kickstarter and those court cards really resonate with me and the full bleed "casino" back design is exciting. I am looking forward to those.

And you won't be waiting much longer, fortunately. I'm sure we seeing them really soon now that Jackson actually has the printing done for "Sherlock" they can't be far behind. USPCC has a big backlog right now, so we'll have to see exactly how it all shakes out. Between those two I'm really anxious to see exactly how both turn out - especially Hounds and Pagan. I remember Jackson telling us there was a little surprise coming for Hounds - yet to be revealed. Another deck that I think will be a sleeper is the Horror on the Orient Express that Shane is doing.

Mail call. Some purchases were inspired by this and other UC threads. Thanks for sharing everyone, UC has made me feel like I have a place to go with this card collecting addiction no one seems to understand.

I opened the extra Primavera deck I had and they are awesome, should have opened one sooner. They look sleek and are now in my card flourishing rotation.

Definitely diggin the Grateful Dead deck too, thanks RSLancastr

Nice! Those Red & Blue Legends v2 decks will come in handy down the road, for sure - and the rest is quite nice as well.

I officially drank the kool-aid as of today, so I'm told.

I picked up a couple of Dead decks a while back that were in a non-poker size, skinnier cards, but what was cool is they came in a translucent wrapper and a clear plastic case. They sold them on tour I believe. Anybody else seen these?

I've seen several different Grateful Dead decks, and own two or three, but I don't recall any matching your description, no.

One of us! One of us!

Gooble-gobble, one of us!!
Indeed! Here are some No Revoke pix: (if someone hadn't used the box as a coaster one night: it would be OB-1, but I'm going with OB-2, always conservative)

That's the red deck, I forgot to snap the back of one card. The blue box is so bad I'm going to create my own category and go with "NoB". It might as well be.
Ohh, I really like these!!! :) I like that it's black and has a different color for each suit. The colors really pop.

I share your sentiment :) Are those two red decks on the upper right corner the u of Chicago deck?

==========[ "No-Revoke" Decks ]==========
=====[ ]=====
To expand a bit on what Mike posted earlier about "No-Revoke" decks:

In Bridge (and in many other "trick-taking" card games), a play in violation of the game's rules is sometimes called a "Revoke".

One of the most commonly-made Revokes is playing a card of the wrong suit (such as when a player must play a card of the same suit as the card which "led" - was first played in - a given trick). This often happens when a player mistook the suit of the lead card (usually mistaking it for the other suit of the same color).

To help avoid such revokes, decks were created in which the pips of each of the four suits is a different color.

Such decks are (optimistically) referred to as "No-Revoke" decks.

Most "No-Revoke" decks have white faces, but the black faces of the Arpak deck, by making the colors of the pips "pop", make it even more difficult to mistake a card's suit for another suit.

It should be noted that the colors of the suits can vary from one "No-Revoke" deck to another (for example, although clubs are green in the Arpak deck, they may be blue, for example, in another "No-Revoke" deck, and so on.)

So Yeah... This came today.
I know I may be sleeping on the couch for saying this... but this may now be the most beautiful thing in my house.
Peter's craftsman ship is without compare. Really the only thing that could go into a brick box like this are Uusi's gorgeous cards. Anything else would just turn to dust.

Excellent! I'm sitting here waiting for a double-swivel box and my Pagan decks to come in. As much as I love them, I've never pulled the trigger on one before, but Donna saw those and the deal was sealed.

I picked up two of them on eBay a few weeks ago.

Not so that I could "open one and leave the other sealed so that I could sell it later" though.

I bought two so that I could give one to my friend Dennis, who went to the University of Chicago.

Dennis was, hands-down, the smartest of the very smart people I hung out with back in high school.

After attending U of C, he ended up teaching English at the Sorbonne in Paris.
